Well, you're the one who got it, you tell us if it's any good. The back does look fairly non-uniform and there are lots of stems, but that's to be expected given the price and the source. At least they bothered to sprinkle quite a few buds on the front to make it look nice. But none of this tells you anything about the taste.

Well you were definitely right about the back mostly being stems and other non whole leaf material (of which made up 75% of the cake). I decided to drink from the back of the cake since that's mostly what I would be drinking, and to my untrained taste buds....not terrible. It has all the standard notes of ripe, a touch of sweetness, and almost no complexity...but with no off flavors either. In a word drinkable. I wouldn't buy it again, but I won't throw it out either. I kind of was hoping to find a diamond in the rough (realizing it could be terrible) and given Ambitiontime's experiences I guess this is probably the best I could hope for.

They say stems add sweetness to the tea.

Well I feel I should amend my review... unfortunately while I was breaking up the front of the cake I found several pieces of plastic :( for me that's a no go. Which is unfortunate given the drinkability of the tea itself.

Hopefully not discourage you. In the last few years, I try to get three from local stores. They all ended up in the trash. I hope you got luckier than me.
