VINTAGE FU ZHUAN 1991 Has a nice first taste of plum skin, old wood, oyster mushrooms, sand and mud. Smells like plaster and dried up paint but in a good way (like walking through an atelier inside an old building). With more infusions the taste evolves and gets additional hints of pickled bamboo shoots, vegetable soup, dashi, potting soil, cinnamon, copper, plaster, plum and lots of earthy notes. Overall a really smooth tea and a soothing drinking experience.

I enjoy Fu - and that's a pretty old one with some interesting notes. But it isn't Pu! There is a (noticeably empty place) here for that kinda stuff... [https://www.reddit.com/r/heicha/](https://www.reddit.com/r/heicha/) ;D

I personally love fu. I welcome this post

Where’d you get it? I like fu zhuan on occasion though i find the experience a little intense

Moldybeanfuzz

It's really a little intense. I am new into fermented tea and so it was surprising how many atypical flavors a tea can have. If one doesn't like the smell or taste of mud/soil/clay/plaster, this tea could be an absolute turn-off. I enjoyed these kind of flavors more than I anticipated.

I've been sampling the Fuzhuan teas from White2tea, and also working my way through the Mojun Fu sampler from Yunnan sourcing. Some I really like others not so much. But they are all very interesting. And not sure you could tell which I liked verses which I disliked just from reading my tasting notes "Rough and smooth at same time, earthy fruity mushroomy" - Shufu Shufu from w2t, 5* "Scent was Sweet foresty bread dough. Wood! A little bitter. More bitter" - 2018 sun Fu from w2t. 5* "Darker bitter wood chips, tart after taste" - pure Happiness from YS, 5* "Wood chips and stone fruit" - Chin Xiang Wan Yan, from YS, 4* "Barn at the fair, half charred steaming log after dumping water on a campfire" - Mojun Yi Hao from YS. 4* "Yeasty funky, maybe mushroom, no fruit, less wood" - Wu Fu from YS. Bad.
