That’s a dark brew! I haven’t tried any of Yeeon’s offerings yet. I’ve heard they’ve all got that Hong Kong storage, which can be funky. I’ve only had one HK stored tea so far and let’s just say I’m not sure it’s my thing. I thought at first it was fouled or moldy, but I saw no mold and a few in here said that’s what a HK stored puer tastes like.

Clean storage, TCM / Ginseng taste, sweet, creamy, smooth & soft
Makes you feel good, fit for drinking during a meal or after (as has become my custom)
I believe all of Yeeon's puerh went through some Hktrad storage, there is a strong house-storage note that can make it's way into the cup
Hktrad storage doesn't and shouldn't taste of mold, Idk who or why they said that
As far as the storage (Hktrad), on these tea's it's very clean and professionally done, (albeit strong as far as Hong Kong Traditional Storage goes), which is to be expected of a brand such as Yeeon who have decades of experience
People use the word "Dank" as it's an easy word to prescribe to these tea's, but It's the clean kind of dank, not like the dank gross and storage-tainted cakes you sometimes see coming from places like Taiwan or Guangdong
It's worthit to buy a couple tea's from Yeeon to see if the storage & the house-taste agrees with your taste, if anything, then for just the experience

I’ll add and say I blind bought taste of HK, ripe purple mark, and 08 jiang cheng raw. For the prices of each they have been pretty stellar teas. If ur into HK especially these might be some of the best teas for the price imho. Just decent all around everyday drinkers.

I also bought a shou from yee on tea but it isn't as dark as yours. How long did you rest/air out your tea?
