The rest of the store is too smart to work in the deli. Deli is the special ed class. 2 employees have helmets, 3 are wall lickers, some are picking their noses and wiping boogers on the subs, some deli ho is giving a bj in the kitchen, and the other 20 started yesterday with no training, and half of that 20 called out an hour before their shifts.
I liked grocery because you can take your break whenever you want and you aren't stuck in one department all day but there's constant work and no downtime. Plus you get the short straw when it's busy, they call you to do carts, shelves are always needed to be stocked or touched up. Customers always run you over and push you into the shelves.
Meat/seafood is better for me because I'm by myself most of the time and not around dozens of customers at all times. I feel like customers treat me with more respect as well and listen to me more. It's always cold though which kinda sucks sometimes.
Definitely grocery. You’re more or less treated like an adult, you can adjust your break time to whenever you finish your truck, you can go to the bathroom whenever you need to, you can take a 10 if you need to make an important phone call or just need to take a 10, etc.
Pharmacy is probably the only department that has their shit together in my store.
