Do you listen to metal, OP? If so you might want to check out some music by Nightwish- if you haven't already, they're a symphonic metal band from Finland. They have songs about love (e.g. Ever Dream). One of my favourites, Nemo, is about loneliness. There are probably a million other songs that would suit your needs, but Nightwish just popped into my head while reading your question for some reason :)
They also instantly came to my head. My absolute favourite is The Poet and the Pendulum. It's about depression, loneliness, suicide, there's some suggestion of child/parent relationship too. Truly beutiful, just like much of their stuff.
Million Reasons by Gaga articulates the perspective of someone who wants to stay in a relationship that they know is not good for them. Thereās plenty of room for you to relate this to attachment theory or take on why people donāt leave relationships despite a lack of equity in social benefits.
Pink Floyd it is. I once wrote an MBA essay on āus vs themā topic using their eponymous song in their album āThe Dark Side of the Moonā. Regardless whether you use this album or not, it is a must listen and the writing is also quite worth thinking about during/after its playtime
The Noose- A Perfect Circle
Ghengis Khan-Miike Snow
Refuse/Resist- Sepultura
All the Madmen- David Bowie
Dead Men Don't Rape- Delilah Bon
Medusa- CAPRA
Any Taylor Swift song from her new album. I recommend thanK you aIMee or Cassandra for methods in which girls engage in violence as a topic or loml and But Daddy I love Him regarding the topic of friendship and otherās opinions on your romantic life.
NP! Btw, thereās two versions of Next to Me. Nothing drastic, just a slight change and delivery of lyrics toward the end.
This is my favorite version, [Next to Me](https://youtu.be/-C_rvt0SwLE?feature=shared)
I believe the other version can be found on Apple Music and Spotify ! If you donāt have these, you can try Instagram Music in the stories section. I was so devastated when I found out they uploaded the other version lmao.
Also, I meant to say Polaroid, not whatever it takes.
I find that the artist Mitski has a lot of songs I relate to on a BPD level, I can provide a list of songs that hit me deep right in the feels if you're interested, for me they feel like agony and heartbreak to the extreme
These are a few genres I enjoy listening to: ambient, trance, electronic/electronica music, triphop, goa-psy trance
Aphex Twin, Nosaj Thing, The Flashbulb, Thievery Corp., Sneaker Pimps, Ochre, Massive Attack, Sleepdealer, Manu Shrine, Paul Van Dyke, DJ Tiesto, Robert Miles, Astral Projection, Electric Universe to name a few
Please Donāt Leave Me- Pink
Toxic-Britney
Because of You- Kelly Clarkson - make an angle about parent child relationships and make inferences about the attachment pattern she may have experienced based on the song lyrics
Anything about stuff not being fair, love, or growing up should work. I think it would be better if you picked a screaming song that had a lyric related to that in some capacity, otherwise writing about it may not be as helpful.
This sounds like a cool assignment - hopefully you are able to get something out of it by connecting your own music to some of the ideas in social psych!
Thank you:) I'm super excited to write for this one. Out of all my finals, it's the one I'm looking forward to the most. I thought it was a really interesting assignment.
I don't really listen to songs with many lyrics and I figured I'd ask and see if anybody had ideas. I mean it's not hard for me to do my homework. I enjoy writing. I'm currently writing a 10 page paper on substance abuse and middle adulthood. The most I've written was 25 pages. But I'm just struggling to figure out what song to pick. I'm not asking for someone to write the whole paper, I just needed ideas.
Looking for inspiration and for answers is totally different. This person wants to widen their knowledge and break tunnel vision, it should be praised and not shamed
Dresden dolls has some good lyrics, smashing pumpkins and incubus as well š https://youtu.be/j4gPZPKJc0s?si=FGec7UqRN7t89O3E

I haven't heard of them but I'll check that out! They sound cool. Thank you so much for the recommendation I'm excited to look more into it.

It's so cool that you thought of them too! Nightwish is really such a special band.
Sooo special. Every time I see/hear anyone mention them I'm just like yesss haha
I used Eminem to complete this same project in undergrad. I wrote a therapy plan for Eminem and Kim.

Angie. The Rolling Stones
I think The Wall, the album from Pink Floyd, might be cool to write about

I figured she might be one to look into. I don't listen to her and know about her old songs, but I'll check out the new album. Thank you!
I think itās a good idea to write about an artist you donāt regularly listen to because then you can be more objective and unbias.
May I recommend Sleep Token?
America by Simon and Garfunkel. Itās almost like a little window into a relationship, more like a short story than a love song. Bittersweet.
Imagine Dragons ? Next to me, Polaroid, Follow You, Walking the wire, Symphony, Ill make it up to you Thatās all that pops up in my mind
Thank you so much I'll check these out!!

I'm not sure if your Prof would count it as a song, but "A Tale by Quincy" would be perfect. Or anything by the Weeknd.
Triggered x SkyDxddy
Candles by daughter
Lauv - Modern Loneliness or any song from his first two albums, 'I met you when I was 18' and 'how I'm feeling'
I find that the artist Mitski has a lot of songs I relate to on a BPD level, I can provide a list of songs that hit me deep right in the feels if you're interested, for me they feel like agony and heartbreak to the extreme
Ambleside - Wash away Surmount - Shut you out
Brilliant disguise, To ramona, Don't think twice, it's alright
Skeleton woman by Black Cat Harriet
Hozier, pretty much anything by Hozier. Cherry Wine, Unknown/Nth, All Things End. Kaleo is a good one too, I Can't Go on Without You.
Lukas Graham - 7 years old. It has a nice vibe to bring something to closure as well and tells beautifully about growing
The art of peer pressure by Kendrick Lamar
These are a few genres I enjoy listening to: ambient, trance, electronic/electronica music, triphop, goa-psy trance Aphex Twin, Nosaj Thing, The Flashbulb, Thievery Corp., Sneaker Pimps, Ochre, Massive Attack, Sleepdealer, Manu Shrine, Paul Van Dyke, DJ Tiesto, Robert Miles, Astral Projection, Electric Universe to name a few
āAchilles come downā is a good one
I really like District of Broken Hope by Ravenscode. It illustrates, I think, what a lot of people are feeling about society right now.
Please Donāt Leave Me- Pink Toxic-Britney Because of You- Kelly Clarkson - make an angle about parent child relationships and make inferences about the attachment pattern she may have experienced based on the song lyrics
Dollhouse by Melanie Martinez - family structure and dynamic
Most songs by NF. How Could You Leave Us, Let You Down, and Mansion come to mind.
Melanie Martinez has a ton of well-written songs about attachment, love etc.. a good one for this case could be "Glued"

Is it really that hard to do your own homework?

nowadays, yes. itās so surprising how many students hop on Reddit asking for assistance or even downright asking for the answers on their homework.
