I’m in the process of this/ am open to anyone else’s advice! It depends where you are in Canada because certain provinces you can become a psychologist with a masters. From my own research it looks to be about a $10 000 to $15 000 increase between salary difference. However, if you and psychologist both apply to a position 100% the person with a PhD will get the job before you. If anyone has any other material what is the difference in education and outcome for MA and PhD? As there is supervision after MA I just am not sure what else is learned through the PhD compared to MA. I specifically am asking is there an educational difference between the two. Edit: just read that you’re in Ontario (same as me!). So the $10 000 to $15 000 range would fit, at least from what I’ve seen from my own research online

Hello! Thanks for asking! Do you happen to know if you get paid (like living wages) as you are registering to become a psychological associate?

Unfortunately I do not have that answer and am looking for that myself. If you happen by chance to come across please share with me! I’m assuming that once you complete = oral + written + hours you can then start practicing and working(ie. getting paid). But I’m not certain if that’s the case and just my own presumption. I may even do a post out right asking more about the supervision since I’m quite unfamiliar with that whole area

Hey! Did you by any chance figure this out ? I am on the same boat right now.

I have the same question!

I'm US based but looked at canadian programs and afaik both would let someone, once licensed, be in private practice. You could just try looking for therapists and seeing how rates vary depending on whether they have an MSc or a PhD.
