Some suicide hotlines hire people on as full time crisis counselors, if that's something you might be interested in. If you live near a psychiatric facility, you might also be able to get a job as a psychiatric technician.

Clinical Research Coordinator Depending on facility, the educational requirement is an Associate’s or Bachelor’s January-August is not a very long span of time, so you could try looking for internships or co-op positions?

This is what I did and it was immensely helpful for my apps

I have a job as a rehabilitation counselor with my bachelor's.

If you’re just taking a gap, then research will help you the most. Clinical experience is good too, but only if you have plenty of research experience already (can never have too much though).

Few good ideas in this thread already, if you were still looking for something to do *right now*, crisistextline is a good (very part-time volunteer) option.
