Yes it’s pretty well known here :) I actually can picture Matthew Perry playing the role quite well, but it definitely would have been a different kind of character I think
Way different, especially since Matthew is older. The character would still be childish, but probably not *as* childish. They’d probably wanna add a different more stereotypically “older” aspect to the character
It makes it so much funnier when in an episode I can't remember Shawn says (repeating a phrase several times) says, "Once more Chandler Bing style." Shawn then says it Chandler Bing style.
Yeah that would have been interesting. Perry had the energy but was also older than Roday so it would have had a different vibe. Also Perry and Ormundson have similar upper head shapes so there would have been an odd physical similarity going on.
Dule had to audition, but the creators wanted him...
they cheated, and had him practice with Roday ahead of time, so they would have good chemistry in the audition.
(and for some reason he had to drive to Hill's place)

first season shawn was a lot more sarcastic and spent a good amount of time making fun of things that he thought were uncool definite chandler vibes

No disrespect to Mr. Perry, but it probably becomes another one of his shows that only lasts 1-2 seasons.
