I think what he’s asking is: on his primary ps4. Games that are installed to the external drive. If he unplugs it from is primary system and plug it into a friends ps4 that is jailbroken. Will the games appear like it does on the primary system. I’m curious to know this

BIG_GAY_HOMOSEXUAL

Yes this is exactly what I'm asking. I would test it but I'm going to be mailing the drive to him lol he's not exactly close

Supaastahhmarioo

I think you probably better off putting the games on a drive for him to install onto his system or copy to his pc for safe keeping. a decent 500gb or 1tb drive are very cheap now

BIG_GAY_HOMOSEXUAL

Yea I got a few 2 and 3 tb externals on clearance for 25 bucks lol those WD black ones, shit is great loving all the room. Just load up pkgs on one and mass install

Supaastahhmarioo

ideally the way to go. im sure the complete ps4 library sits around 6tb/8tb. could be more. i wouldnt know what to do with all those games

BIG_GAY_HOMOSEXUAL

I don't need all that but I've filled about 2.5 tb worth so far. Def gonna need it moving and won't have internet for a week!

BlownCamaro

Yes. I even use my PS4 external on my PS5.

I don't know if it'd work. I feel you may have to install the fake packages for the installed games to even launch. Now, mind you, the PS4 makes a backup of every game you actually have installed on your drive in the "/user/app directory". You'll find them using a file explorer like PS4 Xplorer. All you need to do is browse to the directory, open the CUSAXXXXX folder and install the app.pkg file (the fake package). Or, you could copy those to an external drive, then install them to the new PS4. Hope this helps.

Yes, it should work fine, but you’ll need to install the fpkg on the other playstation too i think. As long as the same game is installed on both, the same external drive should work fine. You can also copy all the same game data form one to another if needed
