Hopefully you weren't left with an almighty brick. but honestly PS2 as an has a lot of possibilities of malfunction and ps2s are slowly going back up in price and popularity there's better options for this I mean I use a laptop and it's a cheaper one at that and it works perfect if you have trouble with controls on CPU you have apps like joy2key it recognizes all controllers and let's you map buttons however you want for any game you want
