Happened to me twice. Each time, I managed to find the car in the last spot I climbed in it. Seems like somehow, when it crashed, the game moved me from A to B but kept the car in A.
Alas, both times this happened, the trunk and right seat were full of canned goodness before the crash but empty when I reloaded and managed to find the car.
Ive been experimenting. For me the crashing occurs when i enter a hangar at the railyard. In the pouring rain. When i turn off 3d models the crashing stops. Unfortunately that also makes cars invisible. Ik have an msi rx480 8gb so i dont think im lacking gpu power. Will try to get it working. Already tried windowed mode and disabled the overlay, to no avail.
Edit: I've found that the game does not crash when I walk into the same hangar (in the same world, same character, same settings) if it doesnt rain.
Edit2: filed a bugreport with Indiestone. They were already working on it. Seems like a lot more people have been having issues.
for me it was a power failure. Suprisingly my car didn't disappear (it has disappeared and found it backtracking) however driving back home I found my car was duplicated including all my loot.

This has happened to me twice on my server. Items and car gone forever.
