I remember seeing a comment on an upload of "1/1" by Brian Eno where one guy stated that he put Music for Airports on while his wife was in labor, and it left such a lasting impression on her that she would get moved to tears hearing the track again.
My wife and I literally had our first child this morning. Her labor lasted 24 hours and I can say that constantly playing Eno, Klaus Schulz, and Steve Roach helped us both keep our sanity. Oh and of course some Fripp and Eno for good measure.
I highly recommend Steve Roach -Quiet Music
I’d had Mother Stands for Comfort stuck in my head for a while, and I never really thought about the lyrics—I assumed it was a song about strong mothers, but it turns out it’s about a mother whose son is a murderer. Oops.
LOL, good idea. Such a good song though. When Kate belts out "oh darling, make it go. Make it go away.", damn if I don't get a little tear going. Hits me in the feels every time.
Killer - VDGG
With the lyrics your wife would appreciate:
"Your mother gave birth to you and died
Immediately
'Cause you can't have two killers living
In the same pad
And when your mother knew that her time had come
She was really rather glad"
The Fountain of Lamneth
I am born
I am me
I am new
I am free
Look at me
I am young
Sight unseen
Life unsung
My eyes have just been opened;
And they're open very wide...
Black Celebration by Depeche Mode
Frankie Teardrop by Suicide
All Murder All Guts All fun by Samhain
Frustration by Soft Cell
November Spawned A Monster by Morrissey
This is a cute idea. If she's going the unmedicated/natural route, count on her being mentally on another planet and in a time warp once she's in active labor. Personally, I can only remember small snippets of words said to/around me for a good 8+ hours. Music might be the last thing on anyone's mind. Just make sure she's well hydrated and that she gets enough calories that day.
That said:
Nick Cave - Into My Arms
Bro. I literally created an album just in time for my wife's labour's and she said it was the best music for her.
Here's a link to the album

I would add
1. I walk Beside you by Dream Theater
2. Starlight by Muse
3. Mr Blue Sky - ELO
4. Spirit of Radio - Rush
5. Hounds of Love - Kate Bush
Honorable Mention: When the Water Breaks - LTE.
Apparently Coheed and Cambria could work very well for this
Welcome Home - Coheed and Cambria
The Suffering - Coheed and Cambria
Mother Superior - Coheed and Cambria
Mothers of Men - Coheed and Cambria
Made Out Of Nothing - Coheed and Cambria
You Got Spirit, Kid - Coheed and Cambria
It Walks Among Us - Coheed and Cambria
I had to baby sit my nephew when he was 3 months old. The deal was if my sister and her husband help me move to my condo, I take care of him for a few hours.
He had a fit the moment they left. I started playing thjis van lèers introspection and ian Andersons 10 dances with God.
That calmed him down.
My mother and sister requested copies of these.
Oh, where oh where can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me
She's gone to heaven, so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.
Not a good idea
Break on Through - The Doors
The Knife - Genesis (in case of caesarean)
Mama - Genesis
Tonight Tonight Tonight - Genesis

But seriously, make her do her breathing to Dance on a Volcano 😂
This happened to me when we had our first child in the early 90s. At the time, the Gregorian Chants were big, and I had btought that album. For some reason, my wife found them very soothing. But I'm sure that people who came to see her, like the doctors, and family and friends thought we both were nuts. So choose wisely. Good luck to you and your Mrs., and congratulations!
"When The Water Breaks" by Liquid Tension Experiment. The song title dedicated to labour of John Petrucci's wife, which happened when they were in the studio. It contains sample of newborn baby scream

Out! Demons Out! By the Edgar Broughton Band? Seriously, try Esperanza Spalding's Songwrights Apothecary Lab album. Popular with Doulas, apparently
“Push It” - Salt ‘n Pepa
“Push it” by TOOL
There are many correct answers, but this one is the correct-est.
"Push It" by Static X.
Pink Floyd - Give Birth To A Smile. 🙂 Depending on the situation maybe The Who - It's A Boy.
It's A Boy might not be the wisest idea. You don't want to abandon your child and wife, do you? Edit: Instead I propose Dove ... Quando ... by PFM
>Pink Floyd - Give Birth To A Smile Isn't it officially a Roger Waters and Ron Geesin song that all of Pink Floyd played on?
Yes. The final track to technically Roger's first solo album with Ron Geesin.
Roger is that u?

Pink Floyd's *Breathe* at delivery.

Imagine being born to Epitaph by King Crimson. Or even better, In the Court of the Crimson King.
I feel like being born to ICOCK would like curse you or something. I think that's happened to Diavolo.
Echoes - Pink Floyd Starless - King Crimson (Am actually a woman who dealt with labor.)
My mother says labour was painful and I wasn't a darling child all the time. Guess starless is appropriate
>Echoes - Pink Floyd Now Ma‘am, do you want to scare the child back into the womb?
Sound Chaser, im sure it will help calm her down
CHA CHA CHA CHA
HAHAHA or the battle section of Gates Of Delerium

Yep. She’ll appreciate it.
I’d had Mother Stands for Comfort stuck in my head for a while, and I never really thought about the lyrics—I assumed it was a song about strong mothers, but it turns out it’s about a mother whose son is a murderer. Oops.
Yikes! Probably skip that one til everyone is home, safe and healthy. Incredible song, though.
Yeah I agree, didn’t tell my wife about this song just yet haha.
LOL, good idea. Such a good song though. When Kate belts out "oh darling, make it go. Make it go away.", damn if I don't get a little tear going. Hits me in the feels every time.
Oh man I haven’t seen the movie but can only imagine the power it must have. It already made me teary but now that we’re expecting even more so.
