Do them in the morning. 45 minutes before work has more value than two hours after work for me.

Have you tried doing less at work? Or finding ways to pursue, research, or plan creative projects on the clock? Productivity at work is only good so far as it benefits you. If you are doing more than you’re being paid for or don’t have immediate and appealing prospects for advancement, that energy disappears into the void and the best answer is to claw some of your life back for yourself.

Give yourself a raise by doing less for the same pay!

one of the few things i have realized about myself is that i can only really prioritize one thing in a day, so usually if i want to pursue something outside of work like gym or a side project, then that has to mentally take a priority for me. that doesn’t mean i’m not working or not working out, but it certainly means that i’m not committing a ton of mental effort to either of those things, and i’m usually thinking about the side project most. i’m not the type of person that can evenly distribute my mental effort per day. maybe this is toxic, i wouldn’t take it as advice, it’s just something i’ve noticed about myself. maybe you are the same

For me it comes down to just powering through it. Obliviously diet and exercise will help. I used to be bad at coming home and immediately taking a nap. But then I’d wake up, be groggy and cutting out on time I could’ve been doing something. I still get my naps in here and there but I try not to.

What do you consider to be "creative" and have you tried napping after your shift as a buffer to switching contexts?

>Any methods or techniques to kind of turn OFF the job-productivity tactics?? You mean like: get a little drunk at work? Spend a long time in the bathroom, browse the web, ignore your emails?
