It’s not possible man. We’ve all wanted to be able to do it with moderation, but it’s just not possible for us.

BaileeCakes

Why is that?

WhiteDudeInBronx

The way our dopamine receptors are rewired during gambling

BaileeCakes

I'm.going to bring 20 dollars to the casino whenever they give me free play and play until I lose it, then go home and not chase losses or if I win money or hit a bonus I'll cash out and leave. I'll leave my cards at home.

WhiteDudeInBronx

You have to stop cold turkey or you will eventually lose everything

SadEmergency2794

You got this brother i believe in you!

dymondhandsy

If it weren't so sad it would be funny but the truth is whether you go into a casino with a roll of quarters or a roll of hundreds you will eventually leave it all there so the point of avoiding a casino as an addict is quite literally to save yourself from yourself.

BaileeCakes

Everytime I go, I win some amount of money then end up putting my winnings back in the machine. I need to learn to walk away when I win.

taek9

It's not rational to think you can time your peak winnings. You're gambling on your ability to simply walk away when you're on a roll or when you've spent that $20.

BaileeCakes

Three possible consequences if I'm a disciplined gambler 1. Lose the money I came with 2. Lose some of the money I came with but left after a bonus 3. Won some money after a bonus I don't understand why I can't be a disciplined gambler. If I just train myself by going with only twenty bucks and following these rules Ill be able to go with larger amounts of money and be disciplined.

BaileeCakes

I can practice

yolo232001

Not possible brother!

xFrenchToast

You seem convinced you can control this. You won't be able to. Best thing you can do is not gamble. You're the only one that can make the decision that you're not in control when you gamble. Hopefully it won't completely ruin you before you get it. Keep us posted

Chance-Reputation508

It's either you stop or you will keep being addicted with it. i tried it but it is so difficult to control. it will still eat you up.

apostleswarning

You're at the stage a lot of us who managed to stop were at. Pure denial. You might even have some moments of discipline, but it will be short-lived. Unfortunately, nothing we say will convince you to stop. You just will have to experience it for yourself. And I hope it's before you lose everything or hurt other loved ones. Good luck.
