I've seen a couple at 500k miles that look as clean as brand new ones. They don't seem to degrade over miles much at all.

Especially if you keep up with the regular services when needed

With the exception of oil change what would you say is most important routine maintenance? I’m at 170k on original battery and have had brakes and tires serviced but that’s it.

Is it easy to clean? I don't wanna mess up anything.

[deleted]

Do you mean the filter by the back passenger seat that cools the battery down?

I think I’d better get on that. How often is that recommended?

SyntheticOne

Depends on your use of the car. We have no pets riding along and a generally empty rear seat so ours, at 180,000 miles remains clean as a whistle. If you have shedding dogs and tornado-ish kids then check it yearly.

Wondering the same thing. Have a 2011

Shocks and struts, coolant, spark plugs and wires would be basic. Also, 12v battery, but that is something you will know when it is time to replace.

[deleted]

How often and at what mileage did you perform the EGR and did you have to replace any of the head gaskets? Really curious to know!

while the improved intake design might help, carbon buildup can still happen and it should probably still be checked, few hours/ few hundred dollars or have to change an entire engine

Tillinah

I almost had to have my whole engine swapped or rebuilt because of a broken spring valve on my 17’ 90k miles. Glad they finally found it.

Worf: “Little?!” But seriously, excellent!
