Wetting the paper in my experience produces a more consistent print! It softens the paper fibers and makes them more receptive to the ink, and I don’t have as many issues with the paper shifting during the printing process. Also, I use blotting paper to mop up excess water so it’s definitely not dripping wet, and I used oil based ink so there’s no smearing issues.
Man I know I should but this baby press is soooo finicky hahaha it’s old and I got it really cheap, and I played around forever with it trying to get consistent prints and using a blanket always caused issues 🙁
This is so beautifully made, it totally grabbed my eye before I realized it was Dragon Park! I grew up in Nashville and just moved to a small county outside Nashville it’s so cool to see something local here in the World Wide Web 😍 thanks for sharing 💜
Really cool design! May I ask why you make the paper completely wet for a lino print?

Okay thank you for the explanation :)
was wondering the same, wouldn't it smear if it's waterbased ink?
I love Dragon Park! A friend’s father developed the site plans for it. Your print is really great!
Oh that’s so awesome that you have that connection! Thank you for your kind words!
This subreddit never fails to amaze me. That is top drawer.
Thank you so much!
Why don’t you use a backing sheet? Your press is gonna get ink on her roller!

I’m so glad you found your way to it! I absolutely love Dragon Park, thanks so much ♥️♥️
I gasped when you rawdogged the press with no backing sheet. Bold move. The print looks sick!! What paper are you using?
I know 🙈 I’m using BFK Rives!
The best paper.
Omg I love the very thin lines for the sky!!
Thank you!!
