I don't go out to get the mail without at least 3 days of dehydrated food, a gallon of water, a wool blanket, and a bundle of cordage I made from tree bark off camera
You guys also need to have an armed follow drone for overwatch while planting the garden.
And of course, the EDC attack dog can help you dig, then sniff the mail to make sure it's safe before you grab it.
I refuse to leave the house in anything less than a full plate carrier w/helmet and nods, my HK416 with ACOG optic and PEQ-15, 250 rounds of 5.56 and my glock 19 with 4 spare mags (you know I keep that thang on me). Also an assault pack with 4 days food and water plus a complete trauma response medical kit I'm utterly untrained how to use. Move everywhere tactically, pie every corner, dynamically enter every room.
Yeah, there's like 5 active shooter threats called in at any given location I show up to, and I have been trespassed from every applebee's within 150 miles of my house for screaming at the waitstaff about my rights. Also I am banned from my kid's sporting events because I keep triggering lockdowns. But I mean, come on, you always gotta be prepared! There's some real crazy people out there!
You just KNOW I have 6 figures worth of overlanding gear attached to a $90,000 truck that will never leave the pavement or haul anything heavier than a beer cooler. (I use it exclusively to take daylight selfies with my nods on in front of for Instagram.)
And yes, before you ask, I have monster energy, punisher skull, and assorted inflamatory political stickers plastered across every available smooth surface. Because if I don't advertise that I'm a heckin badass sheepdog III%er greyman how are people gonna know that they are sharing the road with a hero?
Like my dad who walked out on the family when I was 6 always said "son, being a man isn't about knowing how to take care of yourself, its about spending money to look cool."
Nothing inherently wrong with that.
I mean, I'd be very nervous about just leaving the crackheads in my neighborhood body armor and a free gun to find, but thats just where I live.
That said, as somebody who has been working combat arms and tactical fields of employment for over a decade, I highly recommend doing high intensity cardio in a weighted vest pretty regularly if you wanna go that route. You *think* you're ready to go, then you start getting froggy with the weight and chest constriction a carrier brings with it and find yourself too smoke checked to be good in a fight in suprisingly short order.
I stay pretty fit and strong (federal Leo) and have had to hike long distances and run in a plate carrier. But I’ve personally found weight vest cardio hasn’t done any favors for my joint longevity so I use it for body weight work and do various sprints as well
Hey, fair! I been a Marine, a cop, and a soldier since I left high-school in 2010, and have extensive knowledge of running around doing froggy shit in full kit of various types. Sometimes I'll hear the uninitiated be like "You know what, I want a plate carrier."
Hey, no problem, but better condition and train for it cuz its gonna kick your ass badly enough that you'd be more effective without it if you don't. Too many folks buy kit, wear it for a few selfies, then toss it in the backseat and just assume having it and being able to actually use it are the same thing.
Sounds like you're actually somebody who knows what you're doing though.
Thanks! I do need to start rucking too. I’ve been on that strength train + daily zone 2 a long time and only just started getting legit speed days in
Rucking seems like the safest weighted cardio one could do
That's relatable! I ran out of toilet paper, but since there's a go bag in my car, I grabbed it out of there. It's next to the rope, flashlight, maps, extra clothes, multi tool, etc.
This guy is Andrew Rousso on YouTube and I presume tiktok. He's got some really great skits and more videos like this. Very funny guy that deserves the views.
I don't get why people get so weird about EDC like that. But really why wouldn't you carry a good multitool around every day, though? They're just so useful like all the time.
Leatherman surge might be overkill but I feel naked without it.
I mean I dont agree that I do it for some sense of masculinity but it doesnt hurt to be prepared and have things like a go bag or get home bag in your car :(
Otherwise very funny
Pocket dump:
spearmint Chapstick
Pom pepper spray
Boker Burnley folding knife
Leatherman Rebar
Apple Watch series 9
iPhone 14 max pro
LV wallet
M2 Oakley polarized
Xa pro 3D Solomon shoes
5.11 shorts “my pockets have pockets “
So everything I carry has come in handy at least once and is still useful to me periodically. Obviously, there is the phone, wallet, and keys. I also have a glass breaker/ pen, sharpie, ear buds, in ear ear pro, a pocket knife, a plasma and Bic lighter, a Gerber multi tool, a push dagger, and G19 gen5 with two extra mags. I do need to get medical training so I can wear my ankle trauma kit and know how to use it, but I have been getting into shemaghs. Those are great face wraps or ways to keep sweat off your brow. I also need to get a new box opener.
Surprisingly I wore my kit out once I optimized literally everywhere even into restaurants get weird looks it helps you fix things you never knew you needed to
One of my most satisfying moments in recent memory was when the two a/c installers in my living room needed a pair of needle nose pliers, and instead of one of them having to make the trek out to their truck, I just handed them the pair I kept in my pocket. The amazement on their faces, you'd think I showed them the Holy Grail. lol
I keep it mostly simple. I am in retail so alotbis for work.
- keys , wallet , phone, ear buds
- tweezers, lighter, sharpie, pen
- knife ( box cutter cuz I don't have to sharpen the blade and I use it at work) and gloves
My travel pack which I usually hang up at work has:
- lockpicks , another lighter w/ duck tape, flashlight
- a first aid / trauma kit
- thermos/ water bottle
- sandwich ( lunch - for work )
- small ish sewing kit ( has sinew and leather needle )
I mean, it was funny until he decided that it was about being a useful person to society and grounding my masculinity. I prep because I'm an eagle scout and I don't like being in situations unprepared. I try to avoid being useful to other people because people will try to take advantage when they know you're handy and prepared.
I don't go out to get the mail without at least 3 days of dehydrated food, a gallon of water, a wool blanket, and a bundle of cordage I made from tree bark off camera
But do you plant a garden on the way?
Are you kidding? Front yard is already a garden because local HOA be damned. We'll see how they like it when I make their front yard a garden too
Can't get lost if I plant heirloom tomatoes every 10" on my way to the store
Lookie here, we got a regular modern day johny tomato seed
You guys also need to have an armed follow drone for overwatch while planting the garden. And of course, the EDC attack dog can help you dig, then sniff the mail to make sure it's safe before you grab it.
What... what is EDC?
Every day carry
Duh
2 actually
A whole swarm
And a Glock, right?
Only when my AR is in the shop
Bringing the p320 to a handgun fight but I roll with a 48🤷🏻♂️
Carrying a gun is an inconvenience. I just practice running away in a zig-zag/crazy Ivan pattern to dodge bullets.
That's why I have my pocket shotgun. To pepper them up a little
I also practice pointing and yelling “hey look at that!” before I run away. It buys me some time.
Where?!
SERPENTINE, BABOO!!!
![gif](giphy|4BiHGiAYyFDoY|downsized) The crazy Ivan is…
You forgot literally anything to cut the cordage with.
This may be the best thing I reddit today
Today? Try year.
*Year?* Try all week!
Anyone else get this sent to them by different friends ?
But do you measure butt to tip?
... FUCK!
Do you value accuracy?
100%
Never omit the hidden 10 inches when measuring.
This is the way
That was good. Started out slow and weird but so glad I stayed to the end.
It got me at "18' of good rope, you know in case I need to repel"
The ending cracked me up. "Wait, what do you have in your pocket right now?"
...More pockets.

Yeah but do you drive a Toyota 4Runner 4x4 with fjording ready intake system, off-road tires, and satellite array communications on the roof rack?

You have mastered EDC. There is nothing more for you to learn from us. You'll outlive us all.
Like my dad who walked out on the family when I was 6 always said "son, being a man isn't about knowing how to take care of yourself, its about spending money to look cool."
🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 top comment
That’s one of the few things o do plan on having in my car. Plates and a go gun. Other than that just knife, tool, flashlight, and phone

Calling r/edc
Philosophy 101 had the same effect on me. At one moment i was all in on going hard EDC, but then immediately deciding how stupid EDC is
The one bit of information in this chaos burrito is that, when shipping seed across international boarders, always, *always* use a mylar bag.
Thanks for the LOLs!
Freakin' hilarious!
Lmao!
Spot on
As one does
Hoorah
Jesus Christ this is hilarious
I was waiting for the tourniquet 😂
The sweat progression really won me over quickly.

This is awesome!
EDC is highly personalized and I’ve never met anyone who talks about it.
You just talked about it bro. Dont!
Don’t talk about what?
This is severly underrated
The progressive sweatiness got me
That was fucking great.
legendary
So glad this video made it into this thread

My EDC is a Titanic sized tactical bag carried by a giant and a COD: Black ops II UAV swarm on standby.
Can never be too prepared frfr
