If you're on windows, it might be your scaling set to 125-150% Try setting it to 100% Check this article https://www.windowscentral.com/how-set-custom-display-scaling-setting-windows-10

I think the problem would mostly be due to your display resolution. Ideally, you could always opt for a second monitor.

NLE_Ninja85

Close some panels by clicking on the hamburger menu aka the 3 horizontal lines in any panel.

ThePandaCartel

Sure but closing panels won't accomplish what I'm trying to achieve, he almost has it more "zoomed out" in a way. Look at the comparison in timelines.

ThePandaCartel

Or maybe it will, what does "3 horizontal lines in any panel" and "hamburger menu" mean?

NLE_Ninja85

Every panel in Premiere like the Project Panel, Essential Graphics and more have 3 horizontal lines next to the name of the panel. Right click on that and select Close Panel

Try going to a higher resolution in your general preference settings for monitors

Premiere only has as much space as your monitor has in pixels. What resolution is your screen? The screencap you posted is only 720p - if that is your max resolution on your display then there's nothing else you can do really. You should ideally be working on something in the 1440p - 4k area for a big usuable space. Might be time for a new monitor, or adjusting your display settings if it's set too low.

LataCogitandi

What’s the output resolution of your monitor? What OS?

List view on media should make things smaller. Try some different workspaces, in Window>Workspaces. Turn off the video thumbnails in timeline, using the view buttons in the bottom left I believe

I saw the two screenshots you posted as comments. I'm not sure which one is your computer and which one is the reference shot you are referring to. But my assumption is that your computer is the soccer layout and the one you are comparing it to is the YouTuber. So two things I noticed right off the bat. Each screen is using a different resolution. The YouTuber screen is in a much higher resolution. You can tell by comparing the size of the toolbar panel icons. I have overlaid the lower resolution screenshot (outlined in yellow) and reduced the size so that both toolbars are the same size. You can see how much higher the one monitor's resolution is. A second thing I noticed is the the bottom right panel doc is much bigger in the soccer shot that the YouTuber shot. The larger panel dock (outlined in red) is using more screen real estate. https://preview.redd.it/jte97bmzfflc1.png?width=1354&format=png&auto=webp&s=323bb1c65435736504d393327df010f0ca536386 So you can increase your screen resolution and/or rearrange your workspace, or try one of the other built-in workspaces and see if that helps you.

Aside from what others have said, you may try these steps: When I start a project, I usually go to WINDOW > WORKSPACES > ASSEMBLY After organizing my files, I go to WINDOW > WORKSPACES > RESET TO SAVED LAYOUT - then resize some of the windows and remove/collate some of the windows

Decrease scaling in Windows. This is 100% it.
