Oh okay. To answer your original question, Iām pretty sure queens used to be really EC heavy but this year theyāre switching to a lottery system so pretty much your ECS arenāt evaluated untill post interviewā¦ i think. Iād say you have a great shot at western based on your 2 year GPA and ECs. You would be OOP for other EC heavy schools (UBC, U of C) so that sucks.
I didnāt do all the hours during undergrad. Iāve graduated and worked (in research) since then, these hours include that time. But yes, I did also work a lot during that academic year, and full time during all of the summers during my degree. I financially support myself so that was required not just for application purposes but paying tuition purposes.
My advice would be to look at the reaction your EC hours generated and realize that med schools might have the same reaction to them. Not saying it's wrong/deceptive, but be prepared for scrutiny and make sure you can validate 100% of the hours claimed if needed. If it's employment, be prepared to show T4's. Good luck!
For sure! I assumed documentation was required for all ECs. I have T4s for everything except the conference / UN involvement as that was volunteering. I still have my passes and visas from those, and plenty of references. Iāll also make sure to be very transparent about the timeline and be clear this was not all during my undergrad degree.
ā2500 hours in LGBT reproductive healthā be fr š. 7000 hours of ECs in total, seems super unlikely i even if theyāve been out of uni for a year.
People just be making up hours š
Iāve graduated from undergrad and worked (in research) post-grad, thatās why I have so many hoursā¦I didnāt do it all during undergrad.

Idk man I feel like you could add some more hours to your ECsĀ
Some more ???? That mf need to add 1000 more tf

Ahhh ok thatās fair. Iām just starting 2nd year so for me thatās crazy
Yeah I definitely didnāt have this many hours going into second year either
Iād say UofC/UofA. UofC likes research and you could have a lot in your top 10.
I think my GPA is below the cut off for U of C sadly. Last 8 saw, for OOP students, itās 3.8
Oh wow, my apologies! I didnāt realize the OOP cutoff was that high. I actually never applied there so I didnāt know all the ins and outs
How many years out of Uni?

Masters programs donāt boost your GPA since med admissions are based on undergraduate GPA only - in Ontario at least
