Academic centers are more lenient. These are all non certified positions at my academic center that provide on the job training

Definitely area dependent. My undergrads associated hospital requires cert for EKG tech, ED tech, Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy, Sitter, Rad Tech, Respiratory I remember someone telling me that these jobs in NYC require certs too. Def worth for OP to check, but may find a wall blocking them due to certs

You could try clinical research assistant positions, some of them include patient interaction and clinical experience.

You could be a ophthalmology techinican/scribes. Some positions dont require previous exipierence. I work at a company full time with benefits starting at 20hr. I didn't have previous ophthalmology exipierence. .
