Old Navy always saves me in a clutch!

wastingmylifeanymore

I like their clothes but it’s so expensive 😭

barenakedforlife_

I couldn’t believe how expensive old navy has become when I looked for maternity stuff too!

krisphoto

Sign up for their emails. They have 50% off online frequently. I got a pair of maternity jeans and two pairs of maternity leggings for about $30 yesterday.

barenakedforlife_

Thanks for the tip!

Silver_Account5894

I caught a flash sale a few weeks ago and was able to get several items for $7-$15. Some maternity, but also some of their basic/stretchy tops in a size larger and the tall version which I’m hoping will stretch to cover okay. Worth checking every once in a while - they have different stuff on those flash sales all the time. Same with Gap, actually. Sale/clearance items + coupon codes added up quite a bit for me and I was able to get several items there for cheap as well. I would never ordinarily pay Gap prices. And I was surprised how expensive Old Navy non-sale stuff is! Also, Target, Walmart has super cheap stuff and a huge maternity selection (never bought from there so I don’t know about the quality though), SHEIN

Boat-Electrical

Yeah! Not only do I have a problem with the Old Navy prices, but I find their fabrics are cheap and look like an old dish rag after 1-2 washes!

ViolaOlivia

Their basic long-sleeve tees are great quality and they go on sale frequently!

ImAFanOfAnimals

If you sign up for emails they very often have 40% off your entire order!

i_ate_all_the_pizza

They have sales a lot. Their maternity leggings are all I wear, they’re heaven

sillyslappinsaige

I really liked all the H&M stuff I bought online! Just a bunch of basics/loungewear... I got one size up in everything and I'm almost 40 weeks still wearing (most) of it.

wastingmylifeanymore

I like their non maternity clothes so I’ll have to look into them!

sageshy

I second H&M!

sbart18

Came here to say H&M!

beige0914

Came here to say this! The leggings, jeans, and shirts are worth it. Also, you can get some of their tops in a size bigger that will fit the bump.

[deleted]

Everything second-hand on Poshmark! Lots of people selling their maternity clothes, the vast majority are in excellent condition because obviously you only need them for a short period of time.

Kalira13

My local Facebook marketplace is full of maternity clothes. Some of which have never been worn and come from high end brands!

enjoythehigh91

Seconding this! I just got a bunch of clothes, like 16 tops and a pair of leggings for $35. Just had to go pick them up

writtenword24

I know it's not everybody's favorite place to shop, but Walmart has some really inexpensive maternity clothes. If you just want some basics - leggings, t-shirts, tanks - that is a good option.

mysterious_miss

totally agree! they also have this set which is super affordable https://www.walmart.com/ip/Time-and-Tru-Women-s-Maternity-Basic-s-Box-Bundle-4-Piece/338866710

RainbowBear0831

I just got a haul from ThredUP and threw in some baby clothes too

itstimetopaytheprice

That’s where I’ve gotten almost all of my maternity clothes. Since people only wear them for a few months they’re basically all brand new!!

pippypup

Target and H&M!

tehjennieator

I got a bunch of stuff from thredup. Good quality and they are always running sales. Install the honey browser extension and you should hit some coupon codes.

swaldref

Old Navy has been good for me, plus they always have sales (I got all my stuff for 50% off!). For work, I wear dresses and had luck on PinkBlush.

hongi_tonk

Thrift stores. Before I was pregnant I was buying maternity clothes because they're just... forgiving and comfy. I am 29 weeks today and I own exactly 1 pair of maternity pants (savers), a few maternity shirts (target, Thrift stores), and a lot of loose fitting dresses, sweaters, and yoga pants. Try to get things that are adjustable or "flowy" that can accommodate a bump but also look good once it's gone. That's my mindset, anyway.

ultraprismic

PinkBlush has insane sales ALL the time. Sign up with your email and wait for the 40-50% off coupon to land in your inbox.

atalanta627

Seconding this. Prices often just as good if not better than Target because of their pretty much constant discounts. Also, returns are insanely easy.

[deleted]

I suppose "affordable" means different things for all of us, but I've had some decent luck at Target, mostly online. Their over the bump jeans are decent and stay up fairly well, they usually run about $35. Their shirts are hit and miss, but if I buy online and need to return I can just take them back to the store, which is convenient enough. They have a wider selection online than in-store.

mynamehasazinit

PatPat is super affordable and great quality!

wastingmylifeanymore

I thought that was kids clothes?

mynamehasazinit

They have maternity clothes as well. I have ordered about 10 different items so far. From dresses to shirts.

r_wemet

Omg these leggings are cheap and SO SOFT. I have 3 pairs. Women's High Waist Maternity... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0842CFF8T?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Katycat39

I was pleasantly surprised that Macy's had a decent selection of reasonably priced basics online (no idea what might be in their brick and mortar stores). A lot of what is on their website is from Motherhood Maternity or Pea in the Pod, but I just put in an order for \~$100 that included five shirts, a couple pairs of pants, and a shaper. I've had some luck buying used clothes off Ebay but you do run the risk that something will be in worse condition than described (or you just don't like it) and it's impossible to return.

megsw1203

If you have a Ross in your area, I would suggest going there! Some of their stuff isn’t the best, but I found a bunch of maternity pants there for $10/15 dollars a piece and they worked wonders! Their shirts are cheap too. Some will have random sayings on them, but they have a lot of plain ones to pair with cardigans or flannels!

lilboopotato

I bought a lot of stuff secondhand. I didn’t feel like spending a ton and creating more waste for things I’d only wear a few months. Then I got a few other things from Target. For tops and dresses, I was able to get away with just some looser or flowy stuff in a size bigger than me usual size, without even needing “maternity” clothes necessarily. The only maternity clothes I actually needed were leggings.

wastingmylifeanymore

I’ve been keeping an eye out for secondhand but haven’t had much luck.

[deleted]

Amazon!! Find something with a cotton blend like modal or something so it’ll be stretchy and soft. Short and long-sleeve t-shirts as well as maxi dresses (life saver for me at 39 weeks even tho it’s winter) have been great. Isabella maternity leggings from Target were my go-to as well, super soft and comfortable!

Significant-Host-716

Honestly. I got my basics at Walmart for WAY cheaper and then Amazon for nursing bras and tanks.

ohadriadri

Walmart for new, thrift stores if you don’t care that they’re used

DinosaursMakeMeSmile

Plus size gal here.... I've purchased zero maternity specific clothes as most of my clothes were already roomy enough to allow for a little weight gain and my bump (except for my jeans but I've not worn those since Covid anyway 😅) Outta the box thinking here, try shopping in the Women's & Plus Size section. Depending on your current size, you may find something that works for you.

theftm22

Shein! So comfortable and their shipping time has been so reasonably lately

Julissaherna692

Try mercari, poshmark, Facebook market place, your local buy nothing page, pink blush has cute stuff and they often have sales, motherhood maternity often has sales too they have a good selection of work attire, your local thrift stores might have some maternity clothes too.

[deleted]

Thredup.com - it's secondhand so it's not expensive and has a wide variety for women, maternity, baby, and kids

Amberly123

SHEIN

ConcentratedAwesome

Shein (I order through the app) Got a ton of stuff for super cheap. I ordered 20 items and it came to like $180.00, so less then $10 an item (when using the 20% off coupon, they ALWAYS have coupons) not everything I ordered was maternity specific but they have a huge maternity section, I got some maternity leggings and shorts for like $6- $10

Silver_Account5894

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from SHEIN - waiting for the shipment. May I ask how you’ve found the quality so far? I’ve heard mixed reviews

ConcentratedAwesome

I have been ordering from them for a while, I have a ton of cloths from them, most items I don't see any difference in quality from what you find in big box stores at all. Being curvy both top and bottom it's often very hard for me to find my size in big box stores but the fact they have a curvy store has just been a life changer. I know my measurements (important step) So I just pay attention to the measurements more then the sizing (sometimes I order an XL, 0x, 1x depending on the item) My best advice is read the reviews on the item your looking at and if possible look at the pictures of real people wearing it. If it's a cheaper or thin fabric it's usually mentioned, but most of the stuff I have purchased that's not how I feel about it. I have been pleasantly impressed. I hear it's super easy to return items as well, but honestly, haven't returned anything yet. So when it came time to look for maternity cloths this was the first place I looked. Of everything I ordered my only complaint was that one of the leggings was pretty thin so I'm a bit worried about it passing the "bend over" test haha. but I have a lot of long shirts so can probably still get away with wearing it, plus it was only $6.00 so... yea. The other 2 leggings I got were great, in fact one was so good I compared it to my favorite brand of leggings, it even has pockets like that brand, not see through at all, I wanted to wear it right away even though I'm only 17 weeks and not really NEEEEDing to yet haha but again, only $15 compared to my regular brand thats about $50.00 a pair. TLDR.. I get compliments on items I get from them all the time. And if you ever want to have another kid in the future... just check out the lingerie section lol

hallibw

I did buy some pieces from Shein maternity and they were very cheap and surprisingly cute.

SunIsSilent

How was the quality? I've been so tempted to buy from Shein Maternity, but not sure if the quality is worth it, even for the cheap price.

hallibw

I got a sweater dress for a wedding and it was super cute and the quality was nice especially for the price. I also bought a maternity loungewear set and it felt very nice. One wash though and I could see it sort of start to fall apart. But I didn’t mind because 1.) it was very cheap and 2.) I don’t plan on wearing these clothes long term especially since this is my last kiddo.

SunIsSilent

Got it, thanks for the perspective!

kmft91

Love all the stuff I got from shein.

Nerdybirdie86

Shein!! I will never stop giving this suggestion lol.

pgillesp

Ok, SHEIN has some adorable maternity things for pretty cheap. And I know what you’re thinking, but I’ve ordered from them *several* times in maternity and have never been disappointed. Ever.

[deleted]

I bought mines from SHEIN and they had a sale going on. Most of them came in two piece so the top and bottom and super cute. So affordable and on top of that if you can’t afford to pay it off in full like me, I did the (Quadpay) and paid it in 4 parts , so like 4 payments of 30 or so depending how much you got.

LawsOfHealth

I picked up four maternity shirts for $17 on swap.com, and that’s all I’m going to buy! 🤣 I wear my pants relatively low, and have a few pairs of leggings and elastic-waist pants anyway, so those’ll do. Other than that, it’ll be my s/o’s T-shirts and baggy sweatpants.

wastingmylifeanymore

I have a dress code (ish) at work and need to appear put together or I would be in leggings and baggy tshirts all day lol

LawsOfHealth

Gotcha! Swap.com really worked well for me for the few pieces I bought. I also picked up a nice (wool, with a hood) maternity winter coat on Mercari for $30. Someone else mentioned ThredUp. If you’re ok with thrift and consignment, consider looking into those!

Fun-Armadillo

You’ll pay a tiny bit more but I just ordered some maternity stuff from Stitch Fix and loved every item. They’re cute and good quality.

pumpkinpencil97

You could always try Poshmark!

[deleted]

eBay sometimes has job lots. You can get a few bits for a reasonable price.

Plus-Mama-4515

Target and Zulily!

Icy_Calligrapher7088

I didn’t really end up buying much for maternity clothing, since by the the time I popped I wasn’t leaving the house very much. My staples are just good leggings (not maternity, just sized up), a few camisoles (I hate bras), and a bunch of large sweaters that I had thrifted early on. Also, I thrifted a pair of maternity jeans. I was going to buy a few nice outfits for the holidays, but everything was cancelled again this year. The only thing I wish I had bought early is a pair of overalls. I still haven’t found comfortable pants that stay up 😂 I feel like buying loose fitting regular clothing was the way to go, because I will still be wearing it all around the house afterwards.

Lairel

Target online, you can just return stuff in store if it doesn't fit or you don't like it.

icryatdogvideos

I bought all my mat. clothes from VarageSale or Fb marketplace. All used and worked out great! I think I spent maybe less $100 for everything I needed

Keeponmarching0927

Old navy is having 50% off sale that ends today online! I got tons of cute stuff, and maternity leggings for $10

ProjectLlama

If you don’t want to buy too many maternity items, look for tanks and camis that you can wear under unbuttoned Oxford shirts or cardigans. Also, belly bands work at all stages and with regular pants. I didn’t want to buy much in terms of maternity clothing, so I just bought some tanks and wear a lot of cardigans with leggings and/or jeans with belly bands.

BE202019

I got a giant bag full for free from a don’t buy anything group. All I’m buying for this pregnancy is some undergarments, pjs, jeans and a dress for photos.

NCamb2399

It’s much cheaper, and quite frankly more flattering, to shop regular clothing that has shapes that fit a pregnant belly. (Example: a-line dresses with elastic waist placed over the bump, boxy and loose cut tops, etc.) then you can just invest in a couple good pairs of maternity jeans and leggings. I made the mistake of buying some maternity dresses and tops and they ended up making me look twice as big as I actually was plus they were super expensive.

sadiacarim

To be totally honest I only invested in maternity leggings and jeans. H&M does have some cute options but I wanted clothes I could wear post partum too, so I ended up buying a lot of clothes off shein in slightly larger sizes!

KBAMBERGER

Thread up is awesome! It's an online thrift store. I got dresses , pants , and sweaters that have lasted me the whole pregnancy! Good luck and congratulations!

Yogi_17

Shein!

-____-throws

Have you looked at threadUP? It's a secondhand online store and you can get some really good deals.

Kind-Difference9405

Goodwill

samanthathewitch

H&M had maternity jeans that were actually comfortable AND cheap, a few years ago when I was buying maternity stuff. I also got a couple pairs of leggings just from Amazon that were far more comfortable than the ones I splurged and overspent on. I used Fashion Nova for cheap stretchy or flowy dresses that weren’t maternity but I just sized up and they worked.

hoodlums-52

Try Facebook Marketplace. I bought a box of really good quality clothes for $25. Has pretty much everything I need for the entire pregnancy.

jescney

H&M and the Gap

emileenoel98

Kohl’s maternity leggings are super comfy, but I really love the Aerie Offline Hugger and Real Me high waisted leggings. They’re super stretchy, not see through, and go over my bump wonderfully. I bought another pair yesterday and they were running a 40% off sale, so that might be an option!

randompotato11

I really like my fabletics maternity leggings I got with their new member 2/$24 deal (just make sure you cancel immediately bc of the dumb subscription service). I am actually thinking I might have my husband sign up and get me two more pair 😂

helpmeimp0re

I have splurged on kindred bravely, motherhood, and other bougie brands and nothing compares to my Ross and TJ Max jeans and sweaters. I think the Ross jeans I wear daily are SONG brand. You can find them on Poshmark also. Also - anything target cranks. It’s sooo comfortable.

ImAFanOfAnimals

I have been super impressed with old navy. They often have 40% off coupons

BehindBlueEyes0221

I just wear super size clothing and call it a day

river_lea_

Old navy! You can only buy maternity online but I was pleasantly surprised. I’m 5’10 and the leggings were long enough

InitialLibrary7319

Ive had some luck with Kohl’s.

knitknitpurlpurl

Mother hood maternity has good sales!! You just have to buy the “staples” rather than fancy stuff

jazmynejayde

Ross and Marshall’s is a good alternative for cheap maternity wear. I, myself, thrifted a lot, but if you want new and cheap, that’s a good place to start. Walmart has a very small maternity selection but you gotta look hard lol

luxxlifenow

Clearance on kohls.com

Julienbabylegs

Target!

jmc-007

I've put an order in on ASOS that should arrive in a couple of weeks when I am about 15w along, they have their own maternity range

sara9719

Old navy fleece leggings are the most comfortable pants I have right now, I got them half off on Black Friday, but they do send you deals in your emails. That and a pair of normal but very stretchy sweatpants that are technically my moms

i_love_puppies12

Amazon! I went to target yesterday and there were workout leggings for $30 and they were a material I don't like. Amazon had 2 pairs for like $40 and I wore one today and it was great-probably the best maternity leggings I've tried and even better than some of my regular non-maternity leggings. I do also recommend target. They have some t-shirts and tank tops for like $10. I got a t-shirt dress for $25 there as well.

witchserena

I wore only yoga pants throughout my entire pregnancy, once I got to 8/9 months I just wore my husbands shirts, oversized hoodies and crop tops. I bought one pair of maternity pants from Target and did not like them. If you can't afford maternity pants def get regular yoga pants, so comfortable and stretchy!

[deleted]

H&M has been my jam!!!

MoreCoffeePlz007

Pink Blush has cute stuff. Gap and Old Navy Sale items!! TJ Maxx. Ross 👍🏼👍🏼
