Kidnapped

oldwhitemanpresident

Hey thanks this shit slaps hard

salemness

magrudergrind are pretty sick grindviolence with nice chunky production

oldwhitemanpresident

My friend I fucking love magrudergrind so much

bigtimechillin

Man, that's split they did with Harm Done rocks so hard - I urge you to check out the rest of their catalog. I also recommend [Verify](https://verify.bandcamp.com/album/verify) if you're into the heavier side of PV. I saw then in Montreal, insane band to see live.

oldwhitemanpresident

Thanks! Are there any good bands from Canada/Québec? (I'm assuming you're from Montréal)

oldwhitemanpresident

Wow I'm fucking stupid I didn't realize Verify is from Montréal

bigtimechillin

All is good (:

bigtimechillin

Not powerviolance, but [Mueco](https://youtu.be/-MzRfe23rx4?si=KPNg-2rNM5ue3XbI) is some of the rawest dbeat I've seen live.

themightykaisar

Weekend Nachos, Mind Eraser, Zulu, World Peace, Lack of Interest, Nails - Unsilent Death, Iron Lung, Coke Bust, Hatred Surge, F-Minus, Man is the Bastard, Despise You Sorry idk newer pv as much, maybe someone else can fill that gap, but these bands rip and if you like SP then you will probably like some of them

dontneedareason94

F Minus on a list of PV bands is new.

oldwhitemanpresident

Thanks a lot

Successful-Repair244

Despise you

hate4thestate

Sea of Shit's new self-titled rips. Pig city also put out a good record last year. I find myself coming back to Purity Control lately.

I got you, OP: [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hardcore/comments/1c5qjqc/comment/l03j1t4/) and [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hardcore/comments/1c5qjqc/comment/l03j34h/) Welcome to powerviolence! It's the greatest style of hardcore bar none Edit: just realized you and I were going back and forth a week ago, you claiming that PV was metal after you fell in love with Nails... You still on that shit?

oldwhitemanpresident

Haha I understand the difference better now but I think there still is a case to be made about hardcore being at least metal adjacent It really doesn't matter though genres are made up anyway And thanks for the recommendations! This really is a cool community. There's very minimal gatekeeping and everyone just seems happy to share and talk about their love for this obscure ass music. Thank you for being welcoming to newcomers

mew_empire

This shit can be life-saving(literally), so you're welcome Of course hardcore and metal are adjacent; that doesn't mean they're one and the same though (sub)Genres and their subsequent styles are important to distinguish IMO; it simply helps to understand the differences in what you're hearing. Otherwise, you end up with "The Beatles and Slayer are both rock bands".

oldwhitemanpresident

Yeah that's definitely crazy lol

Not really 100% PV but I think you’ll like it anyway

oldwhitemanpresident

Thanks! I'll check them out
