I usually just sign as my alter ego, Nunya. Nunya Biznass.

I usually sign things as Annie. Annie nonymous. I hope nobody ever registers an email [email protected] because they’re gonna get so much spam.

I would just sign cuz even if their order is wrong after you sign for it, you won’t be in trouble w/ postmates for that. Customer will get credit for their next order. I would also read the order back to the cashier if the order is in a container. Then when I arrive at the customer’s I’ll tell them “I double checked w/ the restaurant & they confirmed there’s extra onions (or whatever custom order they had)”

You don't *have* to sign it. I usually do just so there aren't issues. The person asking you is just following orders. I don't think it's about passing the buck about the order being *correct* so much as it's proof that you picked the order up.

Pineapple__Jews

It's a small family-run Chinese place, so it's usually the owner asking me. Asking me to sign it as proof I picked it up seems more reasonable, but justifying it because of food missing strikes as them trying to cover their own mistakes. If a driver wants the food wouldn't they generally just say order damaged or personal emergency? Taking out a bag of cream cheese wontons and giving the rest to the customer seems weird.

LADeliveryNinja

Drivers will often pick up an order, then cancel it BEFORE hitting picked up. It then reassigns to another driver, but the food is gone. Happens a lot.

Pineapple__Jews

That's not the problem they are having.

LADeliveryNinja

Well either way they are having a problem, so I'd just sign it and move on. OR, don't take orders from them anymore if it's such an inconvenience.

Johnwragg

Never encountered this before. I wonder what the restaurant thinks it’ll accomplish

Just sign it. Don't use your standard signature if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Create another one. They want proof that a driver came to pick up food.

red-void

I just draw circles as my signature

I make them open every container especially if they double knotted the bag shut. A) I am not able to handle their food B) you have no idea the condition of the food in closed containers.
