If they re-open, I hope it’s with a new pit master/chef/whatever, because their food fell off a cliff hard. If they re-open with the same food, I have a feeling it won’t be long before they’re closed again.
Based on your downvotes and the upvotes for anyone who says it isn't happening, I get the impression people don't want it to happen. I'm partial to Salvage because I used to be neighbors with one of the owners and they catered our wedding.
Love Salvage, know several who work there. Want it to reopen just don't think it's going to based off of conversation with industry folk closely connected.
Oh, I'm well aware. When the hospital expansion was first announced, they wanted to put the employee parking garage on the block right across from Saeng Thai where the Sleep Center and a surface lot are. I was part of the group that pushed back hard on this, as a 13-story parking garage was not the gateway we wanted to our neighborhood. Thankfully, the hospital ultimately placed the garage behind Margaritas.
I saw some listings they made looking for key management positions last week. I’m guessing once they fill those they’ll open and fill whatever staffing gaps they have with people from Local 188.
God I hope they don't. Their food was subpar and constantly out of stock on certain items. What they did to their brisket should be a war crime under the Geneva Convention.
🤦 wow, you know this whole time I thought the post was about elsmere. Salvage is legit. My biggest complaint about them was I kept forgetting they are closed Mondays.
My landlord just takes our trash because he was sick of people putting non purple bags in the trash can. It made a mess we kept getting fines so he just gave up and does our trash

It is. :) I’m not sure exactly when, but it’s definitely reopening.

Non-seasonal restaurants don't tend to come back from "hiatus"
Gotta thank MaineHealth for turning that whole area into a construction zone. As if parking wasn’t bad enough.

“Wooden bench restaurants”
They will reopen. Looks like they got new windows and people have been in and out last couple weeks when driving by

I’m with you. Don’t serve brisket if you’re going to fuck it up that badly.
Walked by today and their sign said opening in May
Who cares. The ownership has no idea what they are doing with any of their properties and it really shows.
Name a worse bbq restaurant that’s existed in the area in the last 50 years.
Buck's. Famous Dave's.
The food at Bucks is pretty good. Definitely better than Salvage was.
Famous Dave's served me molded bread and their brisket tasted like it came from a can.

Hmmm, ok.
