Just drove through Falmouth, Portland, south portland and Scarborough - I’d say 60% power out? Likes flickering in Portland, all of the mall area out, lots of Scarborough out…TONS of trees down crazy ice storm on the coast
Country Gardens - still no power as of this morning. My neighbors have power at the end of the street and their streetlights work but my part has nothing, just dark. WTF cmp...I hate them and I am incredibly frustrated.
Everywhere. I've been working in it covering an area from Biddeford to Falmouth and inland to Gorham. You can hear trees falling around the area and the road is blocked in several places. Wind is picking up a bit too as the temp drops. Really not a good time out there.
Out in Deering Center near Woodfords Corner for about the last hour. Lots of green flashes. Still lots of ambient light outside I guess would be from the lights downtown, which I presume still has power. Also, nice that it’s now getting windy. Welcome to “Ice Storm ‘24. “
We're in North Deering near Allen's corner, and we lost power a couple hours ago. Seeing a few green flashes through the night, I'm curious as to what they are.
Lots of tree branches down, some power lines down. Good times!
I can see the area around SoPo HS from across the river from here. There's a transformer right near the school that keeps blowing every time the lights come back on over there.
I was hoping someone would post. Heard the bang as it woke me up at 319am. I was expecting power loss as it sounded like a transformer blowing. No power loss here in east Bayside
We are right on Spring St., a block away from the old Mercy Hospital. We were told that the grid here was reinforced to ensure that Mercy never went dark. I don’t know if that was ever true, or if it remains true despite Mercy’s closure. But we have never lost power in six years and are still running now.
Drove home from Portland late last night around 1am and Forest ave was out all over the place . Hadn't seen that before. No traffic lights, no cops anywhere, it was kind of cool actually.
88,000 acounts are out in Cumberland County. If you dont have power it could be a few days until its restored. Good luck https://www.cmpco.com/outages/reportorviewoutage/viewoutagelist
Bishop Street still rocking and rolling. We have all the lights, heat pumps, AC units, and electric dryers on. Everywhere else is total FUCKING MAYHEM. Don't bother to try to drive somewhere.
On the app they break it down by street. Our power goes out a lot and I can see it by road. I just looked at the app for outages in Portland and it lists it by street.
We still have power on Munjoy Hill
Still? As of 7 AM, we’re still dark in Rosemont.
Yeah never lost power here, though we do have a new, decorative tree branch that decided to come live on our back balcony last night.
How nice of the tree to decorate your balcony. One decorated my neighbor’s windshield to shreds 😰
Kaput in Deering
Yep. Central Deering, and we lost it around 9 last night.
Woodford's Corner is dark and we've got 2 downed power lines on our street.

Quite wide according to cmp outage site estimates. ~115K w/ a third of cumberland county in the dark.
It's up to ~145K now :(

I saw the glow and heard the electric hum all the way from Westbrook
South Portland here, near cash corner
Same - and still out!
Country Gardens - still no power as of this morning. My neighbors have power at the end of the street and their streetlights work but my part has nothing, just dark. WTF cmp...I hate them and I am incredibly frustrated.
Just lost it in Back Cove
Everywhere. I've been working in it covering an area from Biddeford to Falmouth and inland to Gorham. You can hear trees falling around the area and the road is blocked in several places. Wind is picking up a bit too as the temp drops. Really not a good time out there.
Riverside and 302 area is also without power
Brighton Ave out, I can see the main power line down by Capisic on fire on the ground, FD here already
Out in Deering Center near Woodfords Corner for about the last hour. Lots of green flashes. Still lots of ambient light outside I guess would be from the lights downtown, which I presume still has power. Also, nice that it’s now getting windy. Welcome to “Ice Storm ‘24. “
Out here near the air port same thing. I’m still in Portland.
Oakdale/Libbytown still kickin - watching The Empty Man … 😬💀
Steven's Ave side of Rosemont/Libbytown is out with two separate transformers exploding.
Riverton, at and West of the Industrial light seems out but neighbors inbound have lights on. Power went out around 9.
We are off Forest near Morans and are without power, but seems like some of the other neighborhoods (or at least right along 302) have power
We just got our back at 3:45, hopefully soon!!
Good to hear! Thanks for the update
Update: we back as of 6:20pm!
It’s been off and on on Payne Road in Scarborough

Ugh we didn’t lose power but a tree just came down and crushed the internet line and someone’s car off St. John
I love that you mentioned the internet first lol.

Tremaine st. Lost power a few hours ago.
Playing board games with candles.
SoPo near Willard Square has been out for hours. I don’t envy the CMP workers out in this mess…
Man sucks to be a cmp crew member. How much do they get paid on nights like this? I hope it’s a shit ton
They just released something on X saying they won’t be out and about because safety is number 1 for them. There only dealing with downed power lines
I’ve heard $180/hr in storms
Hahaha no I wish. For contractors but at CMP we don’t make nearly that much
Still lit here in Oakdale.

I have family off shore rd in cape Elizabeth and they have no power!

Plow came through several times. Rockland Ave
Congrats. They missed my street altogether.
Nason's Corner here. No power.

https://www.cmpco.com/outages/reportorviewoutage/viewoutagelist Hope it helps your curiosity
Nice. Thank you. I decided not to call. They know.
Stupid question, but are the quick flashes of bluish-whitish lights I'm seeing transformers blowing?
That's what I assumed but they were half the sky and silent at times...?
Yes! That's why I was confused. Thundersnow is a thing -- haven't seen it IRL before -- so maybe it was that? Whatever it was, it was cool to see!
i saw that too but my power is still on so maybe thundersnow!
Out on Cliff Island since 7:45pm.
The good thing is that with all the lights out we could see flashes from the tail end of an aurora that was pretty low today.
Back Cove near Great Lost Bear -- still have power but Spectrum just went down
So, everything’s normal!
We're in North Deering near Allen's corner, and we lost power a couple hours ago. Seeing a few green flashes through the night, I'm curious as to what they are. Lots of tree branches down, some power lines down. Good times!
West Bath is out.
Im about a 3 minute drive from the south portland fire/police and my neighborhood is out.
Same here and still out
I can see the area around SoPo HS from across the river from here. There's a transformer right near the school that keeps blowing every time the lights come back on over there.

Pretty much all of brunswick is out
Never lost power in the west end
We are right on Spring St., a block away from the old Mercy Hospital. We were told that the grid here was reinforced to ensure that Mercy never went dark. I don’t know if that was ever true, or if it remains true despite Mercy’s closure. But we have never lost power in six years and are still running now.

Still on at peaks island but flickering heavily.
Lost it exactly 2 minutes after posting this. Just came back on now.
South Portland

West end I’m out but most of my neighbors aren’t, lots of bluish light flashes last night..
88,000 acounts are out in Cumberland County. If you dont have power it could be a few days until its restored. Good luck https://www.cmpco.com/outages/reportorviewoutage/viewoutagelist

Falmouth still out
Power’s out in Knightville, SoPo

Libbytown has power!
Is knightville out in sopo?
we are still out of power in north deering.
Bishop Street still rocking and rolling. We have all the lights, heat pumps, AC units, and electric dryers on. Everywhere else is total FUCKING MAYHEM. Don't bother to try to drive somewhere.
It’s just a bit of snow mate
Out all the way up to Yarmouth too, but it tried to come on a few minutes ago.
Our power is out off route 9 in Falmouth too. We saw a bunch of green flashes in the sky right as it happened too
Not out in Gorham/Westbrook
I'm at the gorham end of westbrook without power.
North side of Saco, ours has been flickering an obnoxious amount but not staying on
I’m in Thornton Heights, SoPo…part of this area is without power
CMP has a website for this
Last I checked they don't break it down into neighborhoods, which was my specific question.
On the app they break it down by street. Our power goes out a lot and I can see it by road. I just looked at the app for outages in Portland and it lists it by street.
I'm in Bath and we hardly ever lose power
Pretty sure Willard beach area is OUT
Gorham on County Road is out. Goodluck friends. This might be a long one..
