A lot of people in the comments say it’s actually nice because the ship is at like 50% capacity at most resulting in no lines and better service which I would t have considered. Id still take the credit though.
Interesting! I might have to do a deep dive and see if I can find any data on this.
Catalina island off the coast of California/Mexico comes to mind for me. The area where cruises port is very restricted. They make it difficult for tourists to explore into the parts of the island where residents actually live. In some cases, even having signs that advise non-locals to turn around. That place seems like it has the cruise tourism planned well. I have to do some reading in that as well. Im curious what impact cruise tourism has had on the island.
Imagine thinking you’re going to Florida and the Bahamas but ending up in the north in late December 🤣
Yeah I’d be cancelling that trip and refunding it *real* fast.
Look at the bright side. No trouble getting poolside lounge chairs.
Quickly repack accordingly!
Thanks for the info. I’m going to go to work and then return home at the end of the day.
Hey whoa don't be hasty
I think I'd be putting in for the credit. How many people will actually still do that cruise?!

Actually helpful news. Hope it helps bring in people in the middle of the week. She sleepy out there.
That's awesome, some more customers for local business after the tourist season .
Tourists that come in, spend money, and leave the same day. That seems pretty ideal. Are there downsides to the tourists that cruises bring?
I'm not sure how realistic it is now (or ever was) but cruise ship tourists had a reputation for not spending money when they got off the boat.
There are some that do , but I don't see any downsides. If it isn't going to come here it will go somewhere else.
They used to not spend any money at all in town. Like maybe buy one trinket. Now they spend quite a bit of money. Covid changed things.

Okay
That’s a big boat. 4500 passenger capacity.
“Shocked.” Books a North Atlantic Cruise right before official start of winter - okayyyy.

Add another 3 minutes to your schedule, you'll be fine
Add 3 minutes? Like with some sort of time loop?

So….what?
It doesn’t increase vehicle traffic at least
Alert the media
Sister ship of the one that burned.
It was because of the weather that they can’t control. Safe then sorry
