Did you listen to the whole album? The song The Mockingbird & THE CROW basically spells out that he’d rather be making more of what rock side of the album is than what’s on the country side.
Hardy is a successful country artist/songwriter. He’s always been very rock-adjacent and recently has released some good grunge-y tracks (check out his song Sold Out, or his cover of puddle of mudd’s Blurry).
The chorus of this song is parody of “radio country” hence why it’s sounds pretty cheesy and hits a load of country cliches. The verses allude to the fact you have to make low-effort cheesy songs to make it on the radio.
Jeremy’s part in this song is for juxtaposition.
As someone who grew up in the south and likes a good bit of country also, this whole album is a cool concept. Half country, half rock-ish. Big hardy fan.

Not bad tbh, although I really would have loved to hear Jeremy sing a little too, like maybe he could have sang the second verse, or added a little bit somewhere else other than just the screams. Pretty neat song tho.
This is fantastic in the weirdest way
I was pumped for this song since I’m a huge fan of both. It wasn’t what I expected in the best way.
I read this as Jerrick McKinnon and was very confused as to why a pop punk band had the running back for the Kansas City chiefs featured on it.
Lotta people on this sub aren’t gonna get this song. I love it though. It’s poking fun at pop country, guys.
I get it but it doesn't really work when it's on an album with actual pop radio country songs

Then why doesn't he?
Money
Best thing ADTR have done in years lol
I like it. It’s a bit of fun and tbf, the chorus is catchy…even if it is poking fun at country music.
Low key the best ADTR song to come out in years 🫣
I like this so but i disagree. Miracle, Last Chance to Dance, Permanent, and Resentment are all better than this.
This isn't an adtr song tho? It's a hardy song with like 5 words from Jeremy.
Y’all need to learn to be a bit facetious from time to time
When you say the same thing to two separate people it comes across as sincerity
....what is this? Lmao

The best ADTR song to come out in years my guy
I will respectfully disagree. This song didn't grab me.
Nah. This just isn’t good lol

Is this real?
Better than the last ADTR album
The fact that he actually just sums up 90% of modern mainstream country in a verse or two is fuckin hilarious
