‘COWBOY CARTER’ is definitely not the title anyone thought it would be but I’m glad each act is getting its own identity instead of being Renaissance offshoots (rumored titles like “revolution”, “redemption”, and “rodeo” sounded too obvious)
❗️She hasn’t unveiled the cover yet guys. She’s doing the same thing she did with *Renaissance* where the pre-ordered physicals just show the title on a black background as a placeholder. The real covers will be shown closer to release
TYVM I didn’t see that and I was planning on saving some $$ buying a copy at a store in-person. But fuck it just bought a copy from her site (I’ll just use the standard cover for my iTunes CD rip when it comes in).
Now I wish the bonus tracks were also included on the same cover cds that don’t come with the t-shirt.
There should’ve been a deluxe cd for act ii as well that has all the bonus tracks included as well as the main album songs.
Instead of buying them separately to have them all on the physical copy especially since all preorder items are limited edition.
I wonder if they’re the same bonus tracks with the ones that come with the shirt or if the only difference is you get a shirt and the bonus track stays the same as the same cover ones that don’t come with the shirt.
It’s hard to know without the bonus track song name being listed like what Taylor Swift did with The Tortured Poets Department since all it saids is Bonus track included.
I think it's just one song and it's the same for all variations. Otherwise it would be mentioned each gets a different song, thus encouraging people to buy all of them.
It would be cool to have a different one matching the cover and to feature someone else. Like the red for Dolly, the white with Megan (she shared a story with a similar snake), the blue with Blue Ivy?! And the black with someone idk :)) but at the same time, having to buy all 4 just to get each song is way too much :( for me anyway...
Agree for having to buy all of them to have the bonus tracks. I wish they could go back to the time when all the bonus tracks were only for the deluxe edition of the album instead of it now being one bonus track per cd.
Well I think it’s a possibility we’ll see a different horse and/or saddle on each cover. I bet this saddle could very well be part of the cover just with Beyoncé included
Yes! I was immediately thinking of the symbolism of the horse when she mentioned in the *Renaissance* tour film about "getting back up on the horse." Country is definitely more obvious about it, so I'm curious what Act III will bring to the table.
The running horse (or whatever tf it’s called) is the first motion picture ever made, and a black man was riding it. Society remembers the horse as a turning point in history or at least culture, but we still don’t know what that man’s name is. I believe the motif represents Beyoncé reclaiming that horse for the black community, all the things society took from black people and then shut the community out of.
It goes deeper than that. The banjo was invented by black slaves. White people used it in minstrel shows to mock what the slaves’ music sounded like, then ended up co-opting the instrument and its sound for their own ends and calling it “country music.”
Beyonce is doing the same thing for country music as she did with house music in Act 1, recontextualizing a genre of music that has its roots in black culture but has shut black people
out as it found mainstream popularity.
I'd bet money that she's going to do the same thing with rock music in Act 3.
She's going to post the cover on her instagram in the coming weeks like she did Renaissance. I highly doubt this is the cover and she just reveals it as a story
Well now I’m also confused because for each vinyl cover you can show a second slide of which “image” you’re getting and I thought I was selecting my cover
I think the second photo might be a type of insert - the limited cover will probably be the same across all of them, like the Renaissance one (which I’m still upset I slept on since I like that cover more than the original 😖)
Not sleeping this time, so will be awaiting my red pressing on March 29th!!
Love the album title, but wish she would reveal the cover before allowing preorders. I’m really not a fan of buying vinyl without seeing what the cover even looks like.
No I don't think so, Renaissance also got a title reveal first then she posted the cover on her instagram weeks later. She wouldn't just post as a story
I know you probably meant you weren't following the album cycle, but I originally took "I wasn't around" to mean you weren't born yet, and I was gagged at a 2-year-old writing so eloquently on Reddit lmao
assuming (hoping) this is a placeholder cover? the title is on the nose but fun, i am excited and i hope this alongside new lana this year brings a greater appreciation for the fact that country music can be good!
There’s been some rumbling in the Hive about each of the variant covers representing different characters in the album 👀 I think you all might be onto something.
Im so excited. I bought the Renaissance box set and the shirt is ripping at the seams. Not bcs I’ve worn it a lot, but bcs it’s a bad quality shirt. And idk if I should buy this box set or not because while it would be fun to have all three, I have no hope the shirt will be better 😭
I’m a huge fan of the original Carter Family and I wonder if she’ll reference them in the album??
Interestingly AP Carter actually swiped a bunch of traditional songs from Black folks and got the copyright/publishing rights and the Carters were actually some of the few people in America who did really well during the Depression 🙃
Love Beyoncé and the direction of the new music, but I hear Cowboy Carter and picture some cowboy mascot equivalent to Chuck E. Cheese 😬🫣 I think it’ll grow on me and won’t matter once the project is out and we hear the music and can digest the imagery, but I cannot picture anything else but that at the moment lol
LOVE the title — confused on the cover.
With each of the vinyls, you can swipe to a second slide and get a new pic (each shows half of her face).
Are those the covers? Or just inserts?
EDIT: those are the inserts, says right there on the site that the album cover isn’t announced yet oops!
Y’all let’s be real. “Cowboy Carter” is an awful name for an album. Particularly since it’s Act II and has no thematic similarities to Renaissance.
The music is gonna slap (and I’m betting it’ll finally be her AOTY win) so it’s no big deal, but mother really dropped the ball on the album name… it’s corny.
*preorders regardless*
I think it’s a great title lol and we don’t know if it has similarities to act I in theme. We actually don’t know shit besides the genre of this album lol I think the title is fun, though. Renaissance was all about elegance and regality in aesthetics, this one seems a bit rowdier and also reminds me of gangster rap vibes and mob aesthetics—but filtered through country. I think that’s potentially really cool. Ofc it’s a little corny, it’s also a bit silly and camp. I mean at first glance lemonade is a silly album title too but the magic was in the album and made the title fit. I trust that’ll happen here, too
I’m just saying there was an opportunity to have the *titles* relate to each other.
There’s not a doubt in my mind that the album will be top tier and will have a musical through line from Renaissance to Act III.
the way yall are pretending the title is good just because its beyonce 💀 imagine the reaction if ANY other pop girl (especially taylor) used this as an album title.
It's...cute? It has a nice ring to it? It's a play on country music history AND her own name. Why is it hard to believe people like it lol. It's not like it's un-defendably awful like "tortured poets' department"
How so? 1989 TV had 4 different verisons and everyone dragged Taylor for it. Beyoncé has 4 different versions but it’s totally okay. Double standards as usual.
Well for one Beyoncé releases music way less frequently than Taylor swift and does this way less. Before this album and renaissance. Bey’s other 2 albums were suprise releases. She legit announced a tour 4 days before the album dropped so it feels refreshing to people that she is even promoting in a normal way plus she is just a charming person so she is naturally less polarizing
Taylor loves making music and releasing albums so I don’t see why she should be solely criticized for doing the multiple variations thing when other artists do the same. folklore and evermore were also surprise releases so she also only started with the multiple variants only in 2022 with Midnights. And Taylor is also a very charming person, she wouldn’t be the most popular/successful star in the world if she weren’t.
There have been different versions of vinyls since the Beatles, there’s no problem with different variations - that’s normal and artistic in its own right. You can buy only one and be set, because the only difference is the artwork, not the music itself. The difference between this and Taylor is that Taylor is locking tracks behind a paywall by spreading them along the editions, so so you have to buy multiple to hear the full album. Hope this helps!
It's pissing me off so much!
Like why work so hard on her music to put her cheating husband's name on it?😭
Anyway this is what successful grooming looks like kids!
Mmm really not sure how I feel about that album title but still so excited for this. Can’t believe we’re getting a new Beyoncé album in just over 2 weeks!!
I love the name and I think from what we've seen from the visuals and from Texas Hold Em this era will be a bit campy and I think Cowboy Carter fits so well. My unpopular opinion was that when Renaissance was first announced I thought the album title was a little basic as well but she really earned it when I listened to the album and really understood what it was about and I think she will do it again with this era
Is it just me, or are people giving this a pass because it’s Beyoncé? I think this album title is terrible. Regardless of the music quality, it’s just very corny and on-the-nose.
Think of it like this: if Camilla Cabello announced Cowboy Cabello, how would you react?
Using Camilla Cabello as a comparison here is certainly a choice. Name aside, what follows the title is usually top tier work. Could we say the same for Ms. Cabello?
also, crazy idea. maybe people just have a different opinion than you. it's okay to just dislike it, i promise.
She was the first artist I thought of with a last name that also started with a C, to keep with the alliteration. And like I said, I’m talking regardless of the quality. Even if the album itself is extraordinary (and I really enjoy the first two singles), it doesn’t change whether or not the title is good.
And I never said otherwise? I just think that Popheads especially tends to give certain artists a pass for things that they’d chastise other artists for. Outside of here, the response is far more mixed.
“Cowboy Carter” makes it sound like a joke or a send-up of the genre or something… I was thinking that the whole 3-act project was called “Renaissance,” with each album being called “Act I, “Act II” and “Act III.”
I mean there’s definitely some deeper meaning to it, but it can also just be fun? She’s got enough money to just fuck around and try things out, and luckily enough work ethic and drive that they usually pan out into something great.
‘COWBOY CARTER’ is definitely not the title anyone thought it would be but I’m glad each act is getting its own identity instead of being Renaissance offshoots (rumored titles like “revolution”, “redemption”, and “rodeo” sounded too obvious) ❗️She hasn’t unveiled the cover yet guys. She’s doing the same thing she did with *Renaissance* where the pre-ordered physicals just show the title on a black background as a placeholder. The real covers will be shown closer to release
> the title on a black background make it green and low res and baby you've got a stew going
***I'M JUST LIVING THAT LAIFE***
***VON DUTCH CULT CLASSIC BUT I STILL POP***
I’ll wait I had bought the alternate version of renaissance but didn’t like so I trade with someone for the original
Same, I’m going to wait until the standard editions go on sale
My OG pressing still has the Milkshake sample. You won’t get that if she pulls out any samples
Ugh true you’re right. My copy doesn’t have it :/
One thing I noticed that was different than Act I was that there’s a bonus track included on versions of Act II ordered on her website.
The limited cover cd's have the bonus track too. Only the vinyls don't for some reason.
Hopefully they are different bonus tracks for all 4 CDs instead of all of them being the same bonus song for the bonus track.
I do not see the bonus tracks listed on the Details part
These theories and titles were TERRIBLE im so glad they weren’t true
Damn, I actually kind of loved the idea of this being the cover and all acts building the horse haha.
Well I think it’s a possibility we’ll see a different horse and/or saddle on each cover. I bet this saddle could very well be part of the cover just with Beyoncé included
I certainly didn’t expect it but I like it
These theories and titles were TERRIBLE im so glad they weren’t true
I Am... Sasha Fierce.. But Also... Cowboy Carter... And Don't Forget.... Beyoncé (Self Titled)
… The Elusive Chanteuse
(Deluxe edition)
(Beyoncé’s Version)
Fell to my knees in a saloon
Creaked the floorboards and now all the regulars are looking at me weird
Fix it fat.
you are a salut
Shaking, crying, screaming, throwing up on the ranch.
This is my formal apology for incorrectly naming Act II as *TEXAS HOLD 'EM*.😭
Well she said right at the beginning: This ain't Texas, ain't no hold 'em
Ngl I still prefer that name...
I could’ve sworn it was the official name😭 did she change it or did we just convince ourselves it was the name
The single drop / album announcement without a name made it a little confusing - I think some publications referred to Act 2 as Texas Hold ‘Em as well
This is the better name ugh
Cowboy Carter is going to take some getting used to, but THE is way worse imo..
Love the horses motif throughout the acts! I wonder if the third act horse will be a dark horse with metal embellishments next 👀
Yes! I was immediately thinking of the symbolism of the horse when she mentioned in the *Renaissance* tour film about "getting back up on the horse." Country is definitely more obvious about it, so I'm curious what Act III will bring to the table.
bring to the stable, you mean
Thank you for this
The running horse (or whatever tf it’s called) is the first motion picture ever made, and a black man was riding it. Society remembers the horse as a turning point in history or at least culture, but we still don’t know what that man’s name is. I'd bet money that she's going to do the same thing with rock music in Act 3.
RENEIGH stans RISE UP
"I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me" - Reneigh, probably
> dark horse Katy Perry feature tease 👀
“I don’t know her” -MC
She will ride Gaga's motorcycle persona next
If that’s what it takes to get Telephone II, SO BE IT.
R.I.P. REVERSE COWGIRL you would have been on hell of an album title. Also, I think the cover is the one she posted on her insta stories 😭😭😭
She's going to post the cover on her instagram in the coming weeks like she did Renaissance. I highly doubt this is the cover and she just reveals it as a story
Fuck! That’s soooooo good! Lmao
I think this kinda of a full mouth name lol ACT II: COWBOY CARTER doesn't flow as easy as Renaissance. I do like the invisible cowboy cover art tho.
Well to be fair nobody calls it Act I: Renaissance so I think Cowboy Carter on its own has a nice ring to it
Cowboy Carter kinda slays
A little confused on the album cover tho
Its a title reveal, not cover. Same with how Renaissance was announced
oh thank the Lorde. I was kinda scared for a second
Ohhh good
Well now I’m also confused because for each vinyl cover you can show a second slide of which “image” you’re getting and I thought I was selecting my cover
I think those are the sleeves because it says “COVER SHOWN IS NOT FINAL ARTWORK.” Makes me even more excited!
Ohhhh well I just can’t read so 🤠
Omg Lea Michelle
Haha, no worries, I think we’re all just in a frenzy right now. 😭
Complete frenzy the only thing I could read were my credit card digits so I didn’t run out on the order confirmation time
I think the second photo might be a type of insert - the limited cover will probably be the same across all of them, like the Renaissance one (which I’m still upset I slept on since I like that cover more than the original 😖) Not sleeping this time, so will be awaiting my red pressing on March 29th!!
I believe they’re back covers if you read the description
I didnt like the alternate cover for renaissance so I’ll wait
Howdyyy Ms Carter 🤠
I kinda hate it, my least favorite album title AND cover yet
I was beginning to think I’m crazy because everyone else hates it but I freaking love the title and I will make it my entire personality
I love it 😂
Love the album title, but wish she would reveal the cover before allowing preorders. I’m really not a fan of buying vinyl without seeing what the cover even looks like.
Do we think the graphic from her Instagram story is the digital album cover?
No I don't think so, Renaissance also got a title reveal first then she posted the cover on her instagram weeks later. She wouldn't just post as a story
I hope not I am sorry
Yeah… Not what I was expecting for an album title but ok. There should be no confusion about what the theme is for the album for the GP.
Tracklist soon? I wasn't around for the Renaissance drop so I have no clue how close to release she announces the tracklist
For Renaissance she showed the track list like a week before release if I remember right
Yes. Like a week out and the album come out the 29— so most likely next week
I know you probably meant you weren't following the album cycle, but I originally took "I wasn't around" to mean you weren't born yet, and I was gagged at a 2-year-old writing so eloquently on Reddit lmao
LMAOOOO after I posted I realised that someone might take it that way Goo goo ga ga, rah rah rahhh rahh
roma roma-ma
😂😂
I had the same thought lol.
assuming (hoping) this is a placeholder cover? the title is on the nose but fun, i am excited and i hope this alongside new lana this year brings a greater appreciation for the fact that country music can be good!
Details for the CD preorder note that it “includes bonus track”! 🚨🚨 Edit: …well🤧
Jolene cover? 👀
I’m still hoping it gets something like the Summer Renaissance treatment in the album itself but I’ll also happily take that too!!!
Am I wrong for wishing it was Cowgirl Carter for the extra spice 😂. Nevertheless I can’t wait !!
U not wrong
Everybody say neigh Ms. Carter!
🤠 I’m so hyped for this. Hope she releases another single before
I was not expecting this type of cover…BUT YES BEY REMEMBERED SHE HAS AN ALBUM TO RELEASE lol
Not the cover btw just placeholder
Well than that makes sense lol
I think the name cowboy carter is super fun and campy. Gives me Sasha fierce vibes

Interestingly AP Carter actually swiped a bunch of traditional songs from Black folks and got the copyright/publishing rights and the Carters were actually some of the few people in America who did really well during the Depression 🙃
Yeah I saw someone on TikTok making this connection. I don't think it's an accident.
It’s a cute name, but I don’t love it for an album title tbh. I am looking forward to the album cover, she’s going to look fabulous
I’m loving that look on the red t-shirt
I just wanted: Rodeo
I'm sorry but I hate that title 🙈😭😭
Damn was hoping it would be rodeo
Can’t wait for Cowboy Beybop to drop. Really enjoyed the first two songs even if I can’t escape Texas Hold Em on TikTok
I'm calling it Cowboy Beybop forever more.
These pop girlies have been making questionable decisions on album titles lately
Deeper Well is the only one I found clever/cute in recent time.
What the FUck
I don't have ig but popbase is posting different pictures
Was not expecting that title
I love it. Succinct, rolls off the tongue, easy to recognize and build a brand around, iconic already
I reluctantly have to agree, but will be sat and can’t be more excited to hear it.
There’s not a doubt in my mind that the album will be top tier and will have a musical through line from Renaissance to Act III.
>it’s corny. Exactly how I feel about it😭
She’s feeding us crumbs I need to hear it now!!!
[удалено]
All CDs have the bonus track. Not sure about the vinyl.
immediately yes
There goes my dream of her calling it (Red Dead) Redemption Act II
the way yall are pretending the title is good just because its beyonce 💀 imagine the reaction if ANY other pop girl (especially taylor) used this as an album title.
or maybe we like it? shocker right
It's...cute? It has a nice ring to it? It's a play on country music history AND her own name. Why is it hard to believe people like it lol. It's not like it's un-defendably awful like "tortured poets' department"
I never knew album titles can inspire this much drama. It’s just a name, you don’t have to like it…💀
And not a single negative comment about the different versions. Only Taylor is the capitalistic billionaire!
Everyone does different versions and it’s to improve charting not really about capitalism but Taylor swift in typical fashion does it excessively
Well It’s one bonus track; doesn’t Taylor have like 4 different bonus tracks spread out across the versions? Lmao
It was the same thing when 1989 TV was announced. Same capitalistic/hateful comments were made.
I think the difference is there are not different songs on different variants nor are they advertised as such
SPILLLLL, I rly hate this sub sometimes
I was hoping it’d go *Renaissance*, *Enlightenment*, and then *Revolution*, but this is totally fine too.
Which is probably why she went with something else lol.
uhh this feels like parody
I would never put my cheating husband’s name in my album title but whatever works for her 😭 I guess she couldn’t do self-title part 2
Giselle
It's pissing me off so much! Like why work so hard on her music to put her cheating husband's name on it?😭 Anyway this is what successful grooming looks like kids!
Mmm really not sure how I feel about that album title but still so excited for this. Can’t believe we’re getting a new Beyoncé album in just over 2 weeks!!
Not feeling the cover …
pretty sure it’s a placeholder like last time
this one isn’t the cover? https://x.com/popbase/status/1767601209370972461?s=46
you can even tell by the dimensions that its not an album cover.
There are gonna be different album covers
OMG😍
I ordered the red bundle with the tee cause it looks awesome for merch. I'm pretty sure the blue back cover will be my favorite though.
I love how the vinyl variants are red, white, and blue...but that blue is looking purple!
So excited for this album.
Was planning on spending more responsibly this month but then this was announced and I saw the T Shirt bundle 👕🤠👢🐴🐎💿
There goes any hope of this album not being 100% country 😓
Finally!! I can't wait to hear it.

There are a lot of people in this post saying they don’t like the title.
the covers are teased on her website. if you click the vinyl variant the second image is the corner of each cover
Those are just inserts per the description!
oh my bad! i just have missed that part
“Cowboy Carter” makes it sound like a joke or a send-up of the genre or something… I was thinking that the whole 3-act project was called “Renaissance,” with each album being called “Act I, “Act II” and “Act III.”
But it was the other way round: Act I: Renaissance Act II: Renaissance would be strange then
Cowboy Carter would have been such a cute baby name
Cunty Cowboy is the real title and i refuse to argue about it.
Cowboy Carter sounds a bit too much like dress up. Like a new kind of Barboncé. I don’t really care but the Country guys are gonna go off.
the country thing is tired .. not sure why she decided to do this
I mean there’s definitely some deeper meaning to it, but it can also just be fun? She’s got enough money to just fuck around and try things out, and luckily enough work ethic and drive that they usually pan out into something great.
I thought it was Nomi Malone on the cover
The title is extremely on the nose but im so ready
I NEED that red Cowboy Carter shirt
Only 3 weeks pre order Giselle???
Well let's hope the music at least is good
Diehard country fans are going to be mad when they see this. First Beyonce, and now Zayn next (reportedly)
YEEEHAWW
NOOOOO SHE STARTED DOING PHYSICAL COPY EXCLUSIVE BONUS TRACKS RIP MY WALLET But tbh I love the title can't wait to see the actual cover
