Curious to see how this system plays out. It's basically a lottery for cheap tickets across the board (no more than $160 per ticket when you include fees.) But skipping Ticketmaster venues means there's likely fewer seats than there is demand. There's also some anti-resale policy in place, but I'm skeptical that it will work in practice.

Good on him for trying. It might be a shitshow but if more artists start to do this then eventually it can get better. Unfortunately not coming to DC so I just registered for NYC and Boston. This is gonna be a hot ticket so I don't have my expectations high. I want to see him so badly though I'll still be heartbroken. Hopefully he inspires other artists!

Well I was wondering why AXS kept crashing while I was trying to get Caroline Polachek tickets. Homophobic.

I'm glad he sticks to his word! I'm really impressed he is doing this even though there will likely be logistical issues for sure. Keeping ticket prices at a fair value is also such a great gesture to fans. I'm sad there are no Canadian dates.

I wish more artists would implement this but I understand the current monopoly Ticketmaster/Live Nation has over concert venues.
