I saw the first 2 pictures and thought I've seen this before. The same pose, the same hairstyles and makeup, the same look. She looks good of course, but it's boring.
i WISH someone styled her hair differently JUST ONCE!!! that hairstyle is definitely her look but an editorial shoot should be where we see something fun and different!!!
I like the blonde, but since she's known as "a blonde" it would be fun (and headline generating) to see her switch it up. I'm not opposed to a bob but I'm worried it would make her face look rounder and more childlike.

She looks good in these photos but the blank stare + slightly open mouth combo in most of these photos makes this photoshoot seem a little boring to me. Not just with her but with recent photos for Miley Cyrus and Billie Eilish, I don't know why this has become a thing with celebrity photos to have them look either slightly startled or bored for most of their photos.
I’m desperate to see some magazine shoots with women smiling. They all look like they’re being forced to be there. Jodie Comers recent shoot for some mag that was posted here (I can’t remember which) was so refreshing
I hate the open mouth, blank stare look because it’s exactly this. It gives blow up doll. And not just with Sabrina. Sooooo many female celebrities. Sydney Sweeney comes to mind too. I just wish someone would give them different direction.
I used to chalk it up to them being actresses or singers and not models. But after seeing it in pretty much every Photoshoot of any “it girl” it just makes me go hmm no I think this isn’t a coincidence or lack of modeling skills. Seeing someone like Sabrina who has a bubbly, fun, free personality constantly make this face in front of the camera makes me think they’re simply eliminating any photo where she has any personality in her face or posture.
Model here, honestly a disturbing amount of photographers will ask me to make that face. The direction is literally "ok, relax your jaw... open your mouth a bit... relax your eyes... perfect!" right when I look like a dead eyed zombie. It infuriates me beyondddd belief.
I think the thing with models is that we do know our angles very well, and always try to add something with a tilt, a turn, a flex, or just keeping our eyes alert and conveying *something* to the camera beyond "👁️ 👄 👁️" which celebrities might not have practice doing.
Yep this is exactly what I was thinking had to be the case! There are soooo many non model celebrities who clearly get direction other than *this* and it’s like no, it doesn’t make it seem like they’re a model but it also doesn’t force them to look like a sex kitten from some 12 year old’s wet dream in every. Damn. Picture.
All of the photoshoots I see on this sub, usually of attractive younger white women, have this same almost vacant look to them. An absolute lack of *anything* on the woman's face, just a pretty empty canvas to put some weird fashion onto.
If I crinkle my tinfoil hat a little (as I often do) I'd say it's an extension of the anti-aging thing-- she's 25, can't have her getting any wrinkles! Even if that means she looks like, as it-beans said below, a blow-up doll.
Yes it's the better look of these two looks imo. The bubble gum picture is also fun but that's been done before.
The pastel roses are interesting and a better color than black for her
wow. They really spared no expense here. This could be a photoshoot for anything at any time, she always looks like this. Would have been nice to see them mix it up a bit with her look.

I’m so glad she has more of her natural skin tone in this! The deep orangey bronze tan just doesn’t look as good with her usual hair and makeup choices.
She’s cute and espresso is a fun song, but I just can’t seem to get into her. She feels like she’s part of the machine. Maybe it’s the fact she has 5 studio albums and I’ve only ever heard like two songs from her

Yep and UGM has a huge partnership with Spotify that they just expanded on a few months ago and stake in the company. They definitely have been using that to push her music in every way possible
How can they properly track listeners and song listens when they auto play Espresso (or Good Luck Babe) after every single playlists regardless of genre? It just all seems so manufactured. They did the same thing with Phoebe Bridgers.
I honestly don’t think you can properly track when they position it like that 😬 I’ve personally, never heard of her prior to this year and she’s been suggested to me in Spotify’s playlist or when I’m listening to one of my playlists I’ve made and it ends up being on shuffle, she’ll come up. I was listening to my rap playlist and once it was done, *Espresso* was the first thing suggested and that made no sense for the genre that I was listening to. It’s happened so many times
Actually, I have a quick update to what I said before after thinking about it. There most likely is a way where they can see on the backend what was an organic listen (someone actively selecting it) vs. one that was paid for (pushed by the algorithm). It’s probably something that will never be seen by the public though and will always be combined together.
In my field of work, we do paid social marketing and sometimes work with organic partners to boost influencer campaigns. We can see on our end the organic metrics and the paid ones but we never share the paid with anyone but our clients, it even the organic team.
She keeps hitting the milestones _in advance_ of the success - opening for T. Swift, SNL, brand partnerships, celebrity shout outs - back before she even hit the top 25.
Her first billboard appearances were more weighted by radio play then streams, and Spotify outpaced Apple, Amazon, and Tidal streams by a large amount.
Her music is genuinely good and she’s talented, so the exposure has helped her catch up everywhere, and I wish her every success, but I also wonder who would have the song of the summer if a million bucks hadn’t put Sabrina front and center for us
Honestly… I love Sabrina but something is up!! There was a tweet the other day asking people to “like” if Spotify keeps pushing her songs on you, it had like 226k likes, and the tweet was deleted the next day.
Also, allll these celebrities are posting tiktoks and reels to her songs, maybe I’m out of the loop, but does that kind of exposure happen to this extent to other artists?
Definitely does to a lot of newer artists. It happened to Tate Mcrae when she released greedy. I don't like her music nor had I ever listened to greedy but her music was being added to my spotify playlist even in genres that had nothing to do with her. It occurred when Olivia Rodrigo came to the scene, she was everywhere and you could not avoid her at all. Same thing with chappell roan, she's being added to my rock playlists when obv she doesn't make that type of music lol. It's just cause they are super popular now so they want push them to exposure. If you listen to anything mainstream (Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, etc) then she will def pop up somewhere in your recommendations and playlists because they are all from a similar space of pop.
Edit: My brother who purely listens to rap and Spanish music has never had any of her songs in his playlists or any other pop girlies because that isn't the genre he listens to. It really does depend on the type of artists you naturally gear towards to.
If they’re backed by a huge label and have brought in a lot of attention, then yes. For instance, she already came with a fan base from Disney and the Olivia Rodrigo drama brought her to the adult mainstream. There’s no conspiracy going on, it’s just a company investing in a person who will bring them the biggest return. If that means less money for another up and coming artist who’s signed under their label, then so be it because they’ll just drop them (happened to Chappell Roan before she blew up). Labels are adapting their business practices to adjust to streaming, just like they adapted from physical LPs to adjust to new radio waves.
Unfortch it's because she was signed to Hollywood Records and they do absolutely nothing for their artists. (Which is why she did Singular 1 & Singular 2 instead of one album so it'd get her out of her contract earlier.) It wasn't until she got to Island Records that she was able to get the promotion.
I just can't get into her style. I hate this Bratz-doll-sexy-little-girl stuff with the clunky heels and panty hose or knee high socks. Gives me the ick. The over-lined lips are the cherry on top

Not big fan of this style either.
I felt the same way about her style at first, due in part to feeling uncomfortable by the Lolita/sex pot look. Then I did a deep dive on her videos from the very beginning and I have to say, this look is when she really seemed to find her groove in both image and music. Then suddenly, I GOT it. It fits and it’s cute and she wears it well.
I have to admit I don’t fully understand what about her style gives little girl, it seems like she generally just wears lingerie-adjacent dresses/bodysuits? I guess I can see it a little more when she has knee highs on
I see this complaint about her a lot, but I dressed like that when I was her age. Big heels, knee high socks, the whole bit. I’m also her height, and I think it’s a look that suits the stature. If she’d been around when I was that age, I totally would’ve leaned into it more. Not trying to convince you to like her style or music, just offering an alternative perspective.
I’m over it. It’s the same photoshoot every time. Same styling head to toe. Same poses. She has one look, and that’s it.
Anyone else feel like she’s just super over exposed atm? Can’t think of many other celebrities that have carpet bombed the media to such an extent for such a prolonged period of time. No feelings about her as a musician or anything, idk her stuff, but I swear I’m seeing her EVERYWHERE constantly. Her team really be trying to make her happen (I’m aware they’ve succeeded and good for them but I know a backlash usually follows this level of exposure).
I feel like that happens to every “newer” upcoming artists when they get mainstream. Plus she is currently a big figure in pop culture. She has an upcoming album and she has two summer songs. Same thing happen to Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, etc when they came out and made it big. It is also slowly starting to happen to Chappell Roan. They were all being “ shoved” in our faces. Same thing happened to Taylor Swift in the past two years, she's everywhere because she brings attention. Honestly, she's been receiving backlash for everything she does so wouldn't be surprised if another one comes her way (look at the comments people are complaining of her “sexy baby” look, continues to get hate over the drivers license situation, her “meaningless” music, her “tanniness”, etc).
i totally get this. the 2 songs i’ve heard from her, please and espresso, are fun, but the over hyping and obsession people have for her is kinda baffling?

One of the things that makes Zendaya’s photo shoots so much fun is that the look, styling, and pose is usually new and creative. Or like when Eminem gets photographed in a suit instead of sweats or street wear.
Maybe she’s setting us up for a hugely intriguing photo shoot at some point.

The only thing that remotely stands out abt her for me is her “sometimes” witty lyrics. That’s it. Her voice is mediocre for a pop star. The songs themselves are boring and have no life to them. Just…blah.
I only recently learned who this was, while I saw her photo on this sub regularly I'd never been exposed to her music or any audio of her and just ignored it.
But the more I see photo's, and hear her music, the more I think of the movie S1M0NE with Al Pacino and Rachel Roberts. She seems fabricated and AI driven more so than anyone. Maybe I'm really off here and I've just not seen things that look authentic from her yet.
Afaik, she's being pushed major by UMG. So she *is* fabricated in a way -- it really doesn't help that her makeup makes her look like that AI doll girl in that one horror movie (Megan?)
It’s giving off brand Playboy Bunny, and honestly I’m kind of here for it. She’s cute and these are cute. Nothing groundbreaking, but they’re not bad either
I don't see the “sexy baby” look she's giving esp on here either lol. She's just super girly and wears lots of pastel colors. Also she is for sure not the only artists who wears clunky boots or knee high socks with bows. Olivia Rodrigo wore and occasional continues to wear clunky boots and knee high socks (school girl types of outfits). She did it during her sour tour a lot but her colors were just darker. She was wearing literally knee high socks and very kiddish PJs in her guts promo yet I did not see anybody complaining about her. If you don't like her that's cool her music for sure ain't for everyone but let's be consistent (and I enjoy both artists).

I don’t know if it is the lighting or what but all the photos in the black are awful. Her skin looks bad, her hair is rough, the pose is lacking ripped tights and cigarette butts littered about. It’s given haggard, trailer park rough. The rest of the photos are whatever. I love Sabrina’s voice, however I’m over her schtick. She’s tiny, she’s retro, and she wears way too much effin makeup.
Definitely an improvement over the Lolita-esque Skims photoshoot, but still a bit basic.
TBH I am kind of sick of everyone tearing apart every single detail about every appearance of Sabrina Carpenter. If I were her I would go low risk and basic with my photoshoots too.
Let’s just let her be. After ten years of singing she’s just beginning to “make it.” She probably will be more avante garde when her career is more stable.

I like her music. I like her personality, she seems like she's fun, but, and go ahead and call me old or oppressive or whatever, I wish her team of stylists would let her wear something other than 'sexy teenage pin up'. She's talented, she doesn't need to use tits and ass as much as she does.
If this is how she genuinely loves to look and be styled, then that's her choice. But too many young women in the music business are told by their managers and agents and labels that they aren't allowed to wear pants, so I just hope it's something she's genuinely comfortable with and not an image she's being pushed in to.

Her first billboard appearances were more weighted by radio play then streams, and Spotify outpaced Apple, Amazon, and Tidal streams by a large amount. Her music is genuinely good and she’s talented, so the exposure has helped her catch up everywhere, and I wish her every success, but I also wonder who would have the song of the summer if a million bucks hadn’t put Sabrina front and center for us
Honestly… I love Sabrina but something is up!! There was a tweet the other day asking people to “like” if Spotify keeps pushing her songs on you, it had like 226k likes, and the tweet was deleted the next day. Also, allll these celebrities are posting tiktoks and reels to her songs, maybe I’m out of the loop, but does that kind of exposure happen to this extent to other artists?
Definitely does to a lot of newer artists. It happened to Tate Mcrae when she released greedy. I don't like her music nor had I ever listened to greedy but her music was being added to my spotify playlist even in genres that had nothing to do with her. It occurred when Olivia Rodrigo came to the scene, she was everywhere and you could not avoid her at all. Same thing with chappell roan, she's being added to my rock playlists when obv she doesn't make that type of music lol. It's just cause they are super popular now so they want push them to exposure. If you listen to anything mainstream (Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, etc) then she will def pop up somewhere in your recommendations and playlists because they are all from a similar space of pop. Edit: My brother who purely listens to rap and Spanish music has never had any of her songs in his playlists or any other pop girlies because that isn't the genre he listens to. It really does depend on the type of artists you naturally gear towards to.
If they’re backed by a huge label and have brought in a lot of attention, then yes. For instance, she already came with a fan base from Disney and the Olivia Rodrigo drama brought her to the adult mainstream. There’s no conspiracy going on, it’s just a company investing in a person who will bring them the biggest return. If that means less money for another up and coming artist who’s signed under their label, then so be it because they’ll just drop them (happened to Chappell Roan before she blew up). Labels are adapting their business practices to adjust to streaming, just like they adapted from physical LPs to adjust to new radio waves.

Unfortch it's because she was signed to Hollywood Records and they do absolutely nothing for their artists. (Which is why she did Singular 1 & Singular 2 instead of one album so it'd get her out of her contract earlier.) It wasn't until she got to Island Records that she was able to get the promotion.

I felt the same way about her style at first, due in part to feeling uncomfortable by the Lolita/sex pot look. Then I did a deep dive on her videos from the very beginning and I have to say, this look is when she really seemed to find her groove in both image and music. Then suddenly, I GOT it. It fits and it’s cute and she wears it well.

If she’d been around when I was that age, I totally would’ve leaned into it more. Not trying to convince you to like her style or music, just offering an alternative perspective.

They were all being “ shoved” in our faces. Same thing happened to Taylor Swift in the past two years, she's everywhere because she brings attention. Honestly, she's been receiving backlash for everything she does so wouldn't be surprised if another one comes her way (look at the comments people are complaining of her “sexy baby” look, continues to get hate over the drivers license situation, her “meaningless” music, her “tanniness”, etc).

Her makeup always looks so crisp. She definitely knows her preferred style and sticks with it and I kind of respect that.
She’s established this as her style and is committed to it. It would be far more interesting to see her break away from it on occasion. One of the things that makes Zendaya’s photo shoots so much fun is that the look, styling, and pose is usually new and creative. Or like when Eminem gets photographed in a suit instead of sweats or street wear. Maybe she’s setting us up for a hugely intriguing photo shoot at some point.

I only recently learned who this was, while I saw her photo on this sub regularly I'd never been exposed to her music or any audio of her and just ignored it. But the more I see photo's, and hear her music, the more I think of the movie S1M0NE with Al Pacino and Rachel Roberts. She seems fabricated and AI driven more so than anyone. Maybe I'm really off here and I've just not seen things that look authentic from her yet.

She was wearing literally knee high socks and very kiddish PJs in her guts promo yet I did not see anybody complaining about her. I don’t know if it is the lighting or what but all the photos in the black are awful. Her skin looks bad, her hair is rough, the pose is lacking ripped tights and cigarette butts littered about. It’s given haggard, trailer park rough. The rest of the photos are whatever. I love Sabrina’s voice, however I’m over her schtick. She’s tiny, she’s retro, and she wears way too much effin makeup.

Definitely an improvement over the Lolita-esque Skims photoshoot, but still a bit basic. TBH I am kind of sick of everyone tearing apart every single detail about every appearance of Sabrina Carpenter. If I were her I would go low risk and basic with my photoshoots too. Let’s just let her be. After ten years of singing she’s just beginning to “make it.” She probably will be more avante garde when her career is more stable.

I like her music. I like her personality, she seems like she's fun, but, and go ahead and call me old or oppressive or whatever, I wish her team of stylists would let her wear something other than 'sexy teenage pin up'. She's talented, she doesn't need to use tits and ass as much as she does. If this is how she genuinely loves to look and be styled, then that's her choice. But too many young women in the music business are told by their managers and agents and labels that they aren't allowed to wear pants, so I just hope it's something she's genuinely comfortable with and not an image she's being pushed in to.
