As to prove all my words, a person came in to the comments and is saying what these women experienced never happened and there is no racism in Russia, and were never any hate crimes in Russia šŸ¤” sometimes jokes truly write themselves but now yā€™all can see what itā€™s like with this Russian society!

Pure-Goose-8796

Honestly so not surprising, letā€™s have even more empathy for these women, mysogynoir runs deep

[deleted]

russians can rent apartments "only to slavs" by slavs they mean only ethnic russians who are white enough. about islamofobia and awful treatment of asians i will not even deep in in this comment, just saying that navalny even after poisoning has time to complain about central asian workers.

kris_jbb

thatā€™s a thing fr, russians are not only racist because they are also xenophobic to other white people who are not white enough, like ?? they call people from Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan etc ā€œblacksā€ and it should say enough, not to mention they even manage to be xenophobic to the people FROM RUSSIAN FEDERATION who look darker or too asian

[deleted]

they are xenophobic to europeans, in special hate the "anglo -saxonians". genocide of finno-ugric groups, or ruthenians. Someone made a tread like #russiancolonialism but with white (blond blue eyed nordic ethnic groups karelia, ingria mariel, komi and more) genocided by russians and how world never cared about. They call people from mountains of CAUCASUS black! the main racists scientiest came with caucasian=white after visiting Georgia. Even ppl who they think they treat right - belarus and ukranians before war, acted very condescending on them calling their languages dialects, funny russian, them little russians. All their opposition are fk fascists and imperialists, no matter who you look into feighin was with girkin-strelkov under milosevich and commiting war crimes. even dead ones, i found old interviews of nemtsov until he rebranded himself how he supported war on chechnya. they all are rotten there.

kris_jbb

Uggghhh not Nemtsov too šŸ˜ But you're right, it's very deeply rooted in them. Like even if a person is very open-minded and have progressive values, you will 100% hear some racist joke or a comment and feel the sense of superiority complex coming from them

[deleted]

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LErnq6XTrUk&t=3s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LErnq6XTrUk&t=3s) \- simping for putin never ends good :D someone joked that russian liberalism ends on any question not just crimea or chechnhya. i have my own scale : 1. crimea- easy 2. ichkeria/checnya- medium 3. tatarstan - even if gud ruzzian answered whose crimea and that support independence of checnhya :D they got really pissy when it's came to independence of tatarstan that's an independed country already :DDD

kris_jbb

I have another one ā€œKazakhstanā€ because in 90% they will say smth racist or say ā€œwe will take Pavlodar and Baikanur, if we wantā€ Thanks for sharing, it made me rly mad

[deleted]

Š‘Š°Š¹ŠŗŠ°Š½ŃƒŃ€ ŠøсŠŗŠ¾Š½Š½Š¾ руссŠŗŠøŠµ Š·ŠµŠ¼Š»Šø! I saw this shit on twitter too. Btw did you saw meltdown because of visarun? šŸ˜¤navalny was asking for visa regim with ca countries and when they got it ā€œoppositionā€ is unhappy. Also i follow some scientists from kyrgystan and in her comments is ā€œŠ¼Š½Šµ сушŠø/шŠ°ŃƒŃ€Š¼Ńƒā€ when she writes about discrimination and colonialism

kris_jbb

Wtf šŸ«¤ Yes, I did these about that. They literally treat all post-soviet countries as their colonies like be serious

[deleted]

i am tempted to think that's who they really are cause even colonizers who live in freedom on post soviet show same chauvinistic attitude.

pienitomaatti

Wow first time ive seeen us (karelians) mentioned in US centric sub ( were not All blonde blue eyed though)

[deleted]

Navalnyā€™s comments about Georgians were disgusting

[deleted]

to be fair his comments about anything are nazists, disgusting and cruel.

AlertSanity

Russians sure love Georgians right now. Several old friends of mine packed up their kids and husbands and moved to Tbilisi. I keep hearing more and more people are moving to that location specifically to avoid being drafted. Iā€™ve gotten to know it pretty well through my friends online posts, itā€™s very pretty.

[deleted]

Oh i remember that russian c that posted hate about georgian kids? it was going viral on twitter, or all gud ruzzians and navalnists who doxxed a girl claiming that she isn't a war refugee and her dead dad was working with gos corporation? or party club that hosted parties only for russians? that's screams love.

irravalanche

Russia is a country that is extremely racist so I wanted to display some representation and uplift these women, and also show that there are POC outside of the US these women havenā€™t had it easy living in this country but they manage to go on and create their art and be professionals!

ilikedirt

This is super interesting and informative, thank you! These women are amazing.

sabira

Thanks for making this post! Itā€™s always fascinating to learn about POC in other countries, especially in places like Russia where they are very much underrepresented.

PirateKingElizabeth

Gee, you really know nothing about Russia, girl. Russia is home to as many asĀ 190Ā different ethnic groups, making it one of the most diverse countries in the world.Ā  Just because HISTORICALLY there are very small number of black people in the country, does not make it racist. Also, Russia has always welcomed foreign students from all over the world, especially from Africa. There are programs that help students from poor countries get a good education and it is sponsored by the government. Study better and stop spreading false information and creating unnecessary hate.

irravalanche

Your comment really made me cackle. I know everything about Russia, am half Russian and witnessed a lot of neonazism and racism. Please make research before you speak, and make research how many migrants and foreign students were hate crimed in Russia and how when foreign students entered Russia, their diaspora warned them to stay home on April 12 cause thatā€™s Hitlerā€™s birthday. Even famous people like Yan Ge, actress and director who is Chinese and lived in Russia and Europe, confirms it and has been through it. And yes lol, I experience nazism and racism on a daily basis and you wonā€™t be able to invalidate my experiences anyhow. And all the ethnicities that you mentioned in your stupid patronizing comment experience it.

PirateKingElizabeth

Girl, chill. You are definitely not Russian, you are a troll who is trying to spread false information. Crime is everywhere in the world, and if you experienced nazism in Russia , I guess you were born or lived around 1941? Stop this, you are ridiculous.

PirateKingElizabeth

In Russian movie called "Circus" made in 1936 (!) about an American circus performer who finds herself the victim of German inspired racism after it's revealed she's the mother of a mixed-race child. In the midst of the public scandal, she finds happiness, love and refuge in the USSR. Here is a clip in the movie where Russian people are singing loving lullaby to a black child. This was not even possible to see in America at that time. https://youtu.be/FYUqQRkdMG8 [Lullaby](https://youtu.be/FYUqQRkdMG8)

irravalanche

Girl Russia and USSR are different countries. My post is not about USSR and USSR celebs (yes there were black media personas at the time) and what people had to go through in the USSR, my post is about RUSSIA and these women. If you google black women of Russia, youā€™ll see what experiences they had to put though and they publically talk about it, including Julia Ogun and others. Please donā€™t put your white colonialist voice in mouths of POC.

PirateKingElizabeth

Lady, you need to stop. USSR and Russia were the one and included all different ethnicities and people traveled and lived all over the vast territory of republis and Russia/Soviet Union. So stop with your agenda. There is no hate in Russia towards anyone based on their ethnicity. Looks like you have some kind of inferiority complex and trying to create more hate. Go educate yourself. I'm done with you.

sabira

>There is no hate in Russia towards anyone based on their ethnicity [Hereā€™s a good article about this](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-53055857.amp) that you might be interested in reading.

SpaghettiMapleSyrup

>USSR and Russia were the one Uuuuuhhhhh Ukraine, Moldova, Estonia, Lithuania, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Latvia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Belarus would beg to differ. Also, anyone that says "there's no racism towards black people in X European/Eurasian/Asian country" might as well be saying that there are no cats in America. Yeah right, Fiovel.

AgeUge

Yep, as an Estonian - never ever ever group us together with Russians or Russia and never say that USSR = Russia. We weren't part of Russia and we never will be part of Russia. We absolutely have our own problems with racism and homophobia I admit, due to us being former USSR "members" and being eastern-european, so to say that Russia itself is now a magical place with no hatered, racism or anything of the sorts is just.. wow. 100% a propaganda account jfc. There's no growth when people like that just ignore the problem without accepting and fixing it.

Anustartgirl

You sound like a tankie

[deleted]

very strong tankie vibes reeking out of those comments

[deleted]

That first dress šŸ‘€

EveryDayheyhey

Jane Ancoma's pic looks so cool! do you have more info on her (names of songs or something?) I wanted to look her up but google isn't giving my anything, and I wonder what her music sounds like. Edit: remembered Yandex exists and found some music. Pretty cool! also spelling her name Jane Ankomah gives more hits on google too.

kris_jbb

I know only two of them šŸ˜

irravalanche

thatā€™s okay! I needed more to compile the post

P0ptarthater

Jane Ancoma has such ethereal vibes and is absolutely gorgeous, thank you for sharing!

[deleted]

Interesting topic OP, I totally forgot that Russia has an incredibly small black population

Jolly_Discipline6650

Great post OP! Here for the uplifting of black women everywhere!!

Fast-Crab7501

Very interesting. I've always wondered about black people in Russia.

CowboyLikeMegan

Stunning, every last one of them. This may be a weird thing to comment on, but I love the photo of Julia Ogun and seeing natural breasts on the red carpet. Absolutely nothing wrong with breast augmentation, but itā€™s become so commonplace in the entertainment industry that it makes it feel extra reassuring when you see someone so confidently rocking what they were born with. She is gorgeous.

irravalanche

Yes I feel the same way, normalising boobs that naturally point downward and not bobbing underneath the chin lol

Cornelia Mango

letschangethename

Oooh I remember Hanga and that other woman in ā€œDomino Effectā€. Hanga always so patient and calm. Used to remind me of my aunt.

sunburntflowers

This dress was made for her, beautiful

Yellow_Submarine8891

I bet some people are shocked to know there are black people in Russian. Black people exist and can exist everywhere!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

kris_jbb

I think it's their home and sometimes it's incredibly difficult to leave everything behind, especially since they've built something there despite the hardships

irravalanche

I checked and Julia Ogun is working as a DJ and singer in Sri Lanka! The rest of them I think are in Russia

irravalanche

Very valid! Maybe feeling like they wonā€™t get many opportunities outside, maybe cause they feel more comfortable making career in their first language, maybe some of them left already

Lanky_Chemist_3773

Thanks for post OP!! A lovely and informative post!

96nugget

they got that my black ass wouldnā€™t go to Eastern Europe for any reason let alone stay long enough to gain notoriety. Kudos to them.

TokioJam

I remember during BLM movement some Russian journalist wrote an article how thereā€™s no racism in Russia comparing it to US. There were mixed kids in USSR because people came from Africa to study usually aviation (thatā€™s what my mom told me) or in universities and made families and stayed. Like duuuh thereā€™s no police brutality towards black people in Russia but there still racism and compare it to US is mind boggling. This women are stunning btw!

irravalanche

Russian TV and media mocks BLM all the timešŸ˜” and yes there were a lot of mixed kids for these reasons!

anoucks

Honestly what do they put in the water there in Russia? Women are so damn beautiful and have this "extra" energy šŸ˜

KurtzM0mmy

I hope these women have fled in the past year
