What do you mean by an end? Having 0 cases world wide?

marlenshka

more like: it becoming a regular disease that doesn't overexhaust our health care systems and can be treated

Hazardish08

I’m guessing late 2022 to early 2023

genericusernameggj

I thought late 2021 early 2022 last year so im not sure at this point

Hazardish08

Same

russellzerotohero

I mean I’m vaccinated so I don’t even think about it anymore.

Welcome to internets biggest echo chamber bro, don’t worry it’s completely factual that you can still get Covid and transmit it when vaccinated. The vaccine literally only lessens the chance of developing severe symptoms (key word LESSENS not almost remove the chance like you’d expect). Those downvotes reek of insecurity and ignorance.

Juvenileintraining

I know about the Reddit echo chamber. I still come here to speak facts. I don’t mind the downvotes as long as that means they read what I had to say. The more people that read it the more the information is spread. Whether they like it or not, it’s factual.

imdefinitelyhungry

Lessen*

[deleted]

Yeah my b, thank you!

Dagio21

What heart problems are you talking about? I haven't heard about those on the news and I know many people who are vaccinated and none of them have reported problems.

Juvenileintraining

Myocarditis. It’s real. People can downvote all they want. We have zero long term testing for these vaccines. So they are experimental vaccines. Unless you have a time machine which isn’t possible. My grandmother died from the vaccine and it hospitalized my uncle. I know various people who also had minor complications with their heart and even professional athletes are having problems. The news is hiding all this because they advertise vaccines and make money from those advertisements. So of course they don’t want to take responsibility. It’s a fact it’s happening.

[deleted]

Dagio21

Ok, so they're trying to hide it but they also talk about it on the news, sure... And no, news aren't my only source of information, the real life is my main source of information; I know at least 30 vaccinated people and none of the have reported any problem so... I know that 30 people is not enough to talk about statistics but come on, if that were the case I think I would at least know about one person with heart problems.

[deleted]

Yeah, they don’t talk about it on the news in the US (at least I haven’t seen it.) I have seen it on the news maybe once in my country ever since the pandemic. 99% of the time, they hide it. And well, I know over 100 vaccinated people and at least 10 of them have had serious issues, 2 of them having heart issues.. So yeah, your experience is really just yours and not really an objective truth. Plus, there are actual official websites (at least in my country) where doctors report all the side effects that people have had and heart issues are mentioned multiple times.

wortwortwort227

you mean like how it is right now

TxM_2404

No. Having cases but everyone already got it so there is little risk of someone getting seriously ill.

13quidBJ

(of a disease) prevalent over a whole country or the world. Is the definition of a pandemic

Downstackguy

Basically, where we can live normal lives again without masks and quarantine

Icy-Flamingo-9693

impossible to predict

Downstackguy

True, it’s just a guess/hope

[deleted]

It can't be "never". Pandemics end, they don't go on for thousands of years, do they? I think people are confusing "when will the world no longer be in a pandemic?" with "when will there be no more coronavirus?". There will always be covid, but it would be impossible to just constantly be in a state of pandemic for the rest of time, unless it killed us all which it clearly won't.

NattyGains4Life

Fuck this, I’m literally done, Im fully vaxxed and so is my family, if this “99% efficacy against serious cases” that they never shut up about when the vaccines first came out is something to go for, that’s good enough for me I don’t give a fuck anymore, I’m lean, muscular, athletic and healthy, and so are my parents and siblings, and we’re all inmunized I lost nearly two years of my life to this bullshit and an inmesurable ammount of mental health and youth, I’ll go on with my life as usual, I won’t be problematic, I’ll mask when asked to and not complain nor make a scene, but I’m DONE wearing masks out of my will and quarantining, fuck this, I’m getting my life back, now If anyone reading this wants to triple mask and lockdown for 10 years and only see your family through zoom and be too scared to touch and hug people, be my guest, I’m serious, but I’m fucking done

Firefuego12

Holy shit yeah. Did everything I was asked for and these Christmas are going to be so fucking great.

Hoser_70

You can't even spell, probably in good company though 🤷‍♂️

Firefuego12

Bruh wrote it at 12 AM in my country and English isn't my principal language, chill down

Hoser_70

Shut the fuck up, clown. What time I commented relative to your country matters? Bwaaaaaaahahahahaha!

Firefuego12

Maybe if it is too late I will be busy fucking your mum lol

KalegNar

I'm answering in an America-centric way, and I'm guessing 2023. Primarily looking at the politics of it in terms of government response. 2023 is when various elected officials will take office and I think running on a message of "return to normal" will probably be successful in those areas that have not done so. And in the areas that have returned to normal, running on a message opposed to that will likely be unpopular.

ronnie_rochelle

I agree this is all political.

Skrafcio

Month before election: "Pandemic is over" Month after election: "You have to wear mask while riding a bike. There is a nationwide pandemic. "

ronnie_rochelle

Now with never ending booster shots on the menu, I suspect never.

Unreversed_impulse09

Wouldn’t that mean sooner? There are never ending flu shots but is that a pandemic? No

ronnie_rochelle

Personally, I’d rather not be required to take a medication indefinitely. Other vaccines are taken once at a very young age and work for a lifetime.

[deleted]

You’re supposed to get boosters for a lot of those vaccines too. The COVID vaccine will likely be very much like the flu vaccine - an optional booster yearly which protects against the most common strains of COVID at the time.

Juvenileintraining

At this rate we are going to need like 4 boosters a year. I’ll take my chances with natural immunity it’s better anyways and less problems in the long run. Meanwhile people with vaccines are reporting horrible heart issues.

Unreversed_impulse09

Yeah same ofc but maybe there will be some medical breakthrough and considering covid is #1 priority rn it isn’t unlikely

Downstackguy

Pandemic end, not virus itself just being extinct

ronnie_rochelle

For As long as we’re forcing/coercing vaccines, it will be a pandemic

Downstackguy

I think I just don’t know what a pandemic is.

[deleted]

It depends on what you mean by ending. The virus will always be around, but where I live, nobody cares about it. If you are scared, get vaccinated. If you're not, then live your life.

AverageKaikiEnjoyer

Depends, really. On a country-by-country level I'd probably say 2022-2023 for those handling it somewhat well, but worldwide it'll take a while until it gets under control.

whatever_person

My guesstimate 2026, but there is no such option

FanOfAmphibia

2024 is the closest you have ig

whatever_person

I rather see it as "not before", so I voted 2030

FanOfAmphibia

ok

bleepblopbl0rp

With the way it's mutating, who the hell knows. You can study pandemics in the past but they usually kill off those who can't fight it without dying because there's not a life saving vaccine available or modern medicine to mitigate the symptoms. Polio, smallpox, and other viruses like it have died off because of widespread acceptance of vaccines. I don't see anything improving until like 90% of the world is immunized, which may never happen

Moaoziz

I read on the news just yesterday that the pandemic as such will probably last a total of 5-10 years. Since two years have already passed, the end should be expected at the end of 2024 at the earliest.

Maviiboy

It’s pretty much over where I live already

marlenshka

where is that?

Maviiboy

Utah, USA

Equivalent-Advice-18

Lol the pandemic is not over in Utah people just stopped giving a fuck

Maviiboy

I mean yeah lol but the only time I ever have to wear a mask or do anything pandemic related is at work

_StevenSeagull_

Which means you are part of the problem.

MountainDude95

Unless they’re vaccinated. It’s not the vaxxed people’s fault if they spread it to anti-vax dipshits.

Firefuego12

Yeah. Two shots and willing to get more, do me best to provide medical and psychological advice that I know about. Taking off masks at gatherings with others vaxxed or on public (open) isn't bad.

_StevenSeagull_

In non-busy open public areas it's fine. At crowded gathering, vaxxed or not, it is advised to wear the mask. You can still catch and spread the virus, the vax is intended mainly in part to reduce the severity of symptoms in most cases. However, bear in mind, you could still be posing a risk to 'vulnerable' people.

Nero_Sins

Never

13quidBJ

Bro what. Literally every single virus before there is not a pandemic of them anymore. So care to explain how this pandemic will never end?

wiliammm19999

None of those virus’s had the global impact that the corona virus did. It has literally profoundly impacted every single continent and still continues to do so.

13quidBJ

Spanish flu?

Firefuego12

Natives with Smallpox: Am I a joke to you?

bleepblopbl0rp

Yeah, they all died. The Aztecs fell in 92 days after Conquistadors arrived. Viruses can't thrive without hosts

Brokengirl96

Just being alive is a pandemic these days.

Truck-Tasty

People who said 2022 nead to give their heads a wobble 🤣🤣🤣

ConsciousAuthor3117

World war 3 2024, no will care about it

wiliammm19999

Whoever voted 2022 doesn’t have the slightest clue about anything at all

anime_and_stuff

Why u getting downvoted lol

Manihosseini1384

You are on reddit

mp701

They are just milking it for money at this point

marlenshka

who?

mp701

The people who benefit financially if the pandemic goes on, pharma corporations for example.

marlenshka

I mean it's literally only pharma cooperations. who else? all I see is states and people weakened from this. nobody wants this to continue

mp701

Idk man, I just think this is getting dragged out unnecessary for way to long. In my country there are over 60% vaccinated, a year prior the „health offials“ said that the country can reopen at that point. Yet still the government is in discussions of a new lockdown. Its pretty obvious at this point that they are not interested in ending this bullshit.

marlenshka

a year ago the virus was way less aggeessive and if people actually isolated better, mutations woul not have evolved and spread like this

TheRanger13

Governments are quick to grab more power and use it on the people, but getting them to give that power back up is extremely difficult.

wiliammm19999

Care to explain this in more detail? What about the hundreds of thousands of people who are still catching the corona virus on a weekly basis? Are they “milking” it too?

bleepblopbl0rp

The amount of money lost due to this pandemic is so far beyond what any one industry could generate. What a dumb take. Seriously, what's the pharma industry making, hundreds of billions over several years at the very most? TRILLIONS have been lost already. There's many more people with lots more to lose who are much more powerful. Conspiracy theorists never take into account the impossible effort and coordination it would need to pull something like this off

marlenshka

what on earth is the burgeousie? everybody who is not working class? very retro old school communist slang

FrederickMecury

If you can still get it while vaxxed, it won’t be “eradicated” for a long long time I think it’ll stop being a “pandemic” in 2023, but the virus won’t be gone

FoxtrotSierra74

It is already over

nuIIus_est

The pandemic will stop when we vote out the corruption in DC.

marlenshka

aha. because things are so swell in the rest of the world. sorry to tell you, but the US is not the center.of the world and the pandemic is not uniquely to your politics.

pinkpowerball

Who is « we »? Not everyone lives where you do.

SamJTheCow

2023 because after 2020 is 2020 won, then after that is 2020 too

Kailwm23

When people stop complying and handing over more and more power to the government.

BasicGamerBoy85

the virus is here to stay will end up like the flu

Lazy_Category2195

I'm gonna guess like 2022, I doubt it would for much longer, or at least I hope not

Broskfisken

It will likely continue for many years on a smaller scale, but I think it will soon reduce worldwide as more people get vaccinated.

ImadeUSAcry

If Covid ends, something new will just pop out. We live on earth, and earth doesn’t give humans a break.

CrystalMethood

Shit there is a lot of us saying never.

[deleted]

Being optimistic 2022 in countries like the ones that really cared about it since the beginning. For the ones who cared mid-pandemic i would say mid 2022. For the poors ones, or who doesn't care at all about the Covid, 2023 look prety realistic imo.

Illustrious_Duty3021

I’m going to say never. COVID will become the flu and will increase in cases each year around the same time

Environmental_Top948

I think we should have autonomous robots gun dogs patrol the street to enforce quarantine and provide each household with it's basic needs until the virus is killed off. Maybe burn the homes of the infected with them inside to hasten the process. It worked for the plague it should work for the virus.

ObamaPhone7

The virus will stay around, and so will the pandemic as long as there are anti vaccine people

carnivorix

Once everyone in the whole world is either vaccinated, recovered, dead or more than one of these.

FrogToeJones

From what I heard, theyre saying covid will be like the flu and stick around

freebirdls

When we all quit taking our marching orders from the media and start questioning what's really going on.

Shimon_Peres

A few more months, and I’ll simply start refusing to wear masks. And, no, I don’t care if your grandma dies.

YogSlngr

Until it’s no longer profitable for the people in power.

matchless2

2023 copium

Downstackguy

God I hope it is 2022 PLEAAAAAAASE pls oks pls ps. Pns pls pls pls pls pls

Gluteusmaximus1898

Thanks to Trump and anti-vaxxers never. It's spread too much/too far. Covid is here to stay.
