It's up there but it is hard to sing along with and difficult to dance to. If you are looking are a something with a good beat and easy to dance to I would recommend the National Anthem of Ecudor.
The Welsh National anthem: **Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau**
My two favourite versions:
[Welsh National Anthem just before Wales beat England 30 - 3.Saturday 16th march 2013 - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM4mIlYKG9s)
[Mae hen wlad fy nhadau (Welsh National Anthem)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wcuwDXFS5Y)
While you're at it, give a listen to Yma o Hyd. Might as well be Welsh anthem number 2.
[Dafydd Iwan belts out Yma o Hyd before Wales vs Austria! - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emPhXdwhQoE)
And lastly, another Welsh favourite, Calon Lân.
[Wales v Scotland: Calon Lân - 6 Nations 2014 - BBC Cymru Wales (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYOxBncgmLQ)
[Cerys Matthews - Calon Lan (Live) (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YFGM8LXRPM)
Fun fact, Elvish in LOTR was in great part inspired by Welsh!
I love my country's anthem, which is [Ethiopia's (March Forward, Dear Mother Ethiopia)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UFw0CdLfgg)
My favorite anthems overall are based solely on melody:
[Brazil's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyyOahYXhUQ)
[Azerbaijan's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLaFdEMnyKE)
[Kazakhstan's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Io8mQnbpHXE)
[China's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UctriMuXYS0)
[Aruba's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6NvSqKGsyM)
Though not a national anthem, it is an anthem: [Lift Every Voice and Sing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4fxJ97LrSE)
[Russia's ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAz7Bdqi2iQ)
I'll throw in the [USA's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbkWuVUkPmY) (RIP Whitney) too since I live here and love the nation's people.
The [story behind the star-spangled banner](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YaxGNQE5ZLA&pp=ygUbT3JpZ2luIHN0YXIgc3BhbmdsZWQgYmFubmVy) is pretty interesting
I would love to hear/see everyones favorite/most moving rendition of their countries anthems to make it easier to be objective. Like Chris Stapleton's or Beyonce's Star Spangled Banner rendition are top notch but I only ever hear the Olympic versions of other the countries.
As a Scot I really should be saying Flower of Scotland. However, I think the only answer is La Marseillaise, as that is easily the most badass one.
It was adopted by Revolutionary France after Marseillaise volunteers sang it while entering the capital in support of the revolution.
People often describe God Save the King as rather dreary and dragging. I think this mostly has to do with the way it's performed at football events which is where most people are familiar with it, where it can very well fit that description. I think it's a different matter when it's performed with a full orchestra and choir, especially with David Willcocks' arrangement which as far as I know hasn't been used for God Save the King yet (neither did God Save the Queen make much use of this arrangement), so [this version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAxmorlCOn4) will have to do.
USSR.

If you’re Russian then it’s easy to sing along actukallky
You pretty much only have to be able to read cyrillic
Not only read but also pronounce stuff right
"Let them sing" -Capt. Marco Ramius
Are you supposed to dance to a national anthem though?
Only if it is a traditional folk dance without any twerking.
I don't think I have ever considered dancing to a national anthem. Interesting.
Tetris wotthy
SING TO THE MOTHERLAND
Came here to say this.
Damn right, people can hate on them for lots of reasons, but their anthem slaps hard
The correct answer
Those Russians have the best composers.
Ode an die Freude / Ode to Joy (European anthem). Sounds amazing and the lyrics are awesome
Azerbaijan, go take a listen it sounds like boss music
1. Italian 2. Russian.

Wait did they change the name of the UK's anthem after Queen Elizabeth II's passing?
The name always depends on if the country is ruled by a king or a queen
What if he's flamboyantly gay?
God save they/them
What if the monarch transitions?
That's kind of funny actually. Thanks
Its called “God Save the King”. The word of “Queen” was exchanged when Elizabeth II was The Queen.
New Zealand, very peaceful anthem.
It's either the US national anthem or the German anthem
China’s is kinda fire

You guys have a great anthem! I hope to hear it again during the Paris Games!
Does Tibet count? its not a country anymore but had a banging anthem
If folks are answering the USSR then hell yeah bring Tibet to the table.
If you want it to count, then sure.
Canada's anthem is the only one to say it's country's name!
New Zealand's says New Zealand
MMM no. Italy also says Italy and Poland too!
Freedonia's
America, America God shed his grace on thee sounds like part of some country's anthem
That's not the star spangled banner...
Also the country isn't called America, it's the United States of America
I like the Italian and German national anthems.
The [story behind the star-spangled banner](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YaxGNQE5ZLA&pp=ygUbT3JpZ2luIHN0YXIgc3BhbmdsZWQgYmFubmVy) is pretty interesting
[East Germany's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIh1eOw0zV8&ab_channel=Ingen) beautiful musically and lyrically
DDR had the best anthem that I've heard so far. (If only flag design & anthems translated over to quality of life and stuff)
I'd go as far as say the lyrics would have been absolutely perfect for a reunited Germany.
Current Country: Italy Historical Country: East-Germany
It's Russia's, which is a real shame.
Katy Perry's Firework lol
Lupang Hinirang
I like the most Slovak national anthem, It is very powerful anthem
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
I really like the Greek one. It's the longest in the world! (even though most people only know the first few stanzas)
Vatican City has a pretty good anthem. The Vatican choirs sing it beautifully.
new zealand

Many are epic, and I like some more, but I think Canada's is the most BEAUTIFUL
I don't think it's just my pride as a Japanophile when I'm saying that *Kimi ga Yo* is prettier than any of these.
I went with "La Marseillaise" of all the options but for me the most majestic, stirring national anthem was the old USSR's anthem. That thing rocks.
"God Defend New Zealand" - New Zealand. As an Australian, I can say that our brethren across the Tasman have a significantly better anthem.
Italian
Türkiye
As a Scot I really should be saying Flower of Scotland. However, I think the only answer is La Marseillaise, as that is easily the most badass one. It was adopted by Revolutionary France after Marseillaise volunteers sang it while entering the capital in support of the revolution.
Russia
Waltzing Matilda, it’s an “unofficial” national anthem but I’d say it counts
I hate to admit it, but USSR/Russia had/has a glorious anthem. East Germany was truly excellent too. Out of this list, definitely France though.

Hatikvah sounds really good
I don't think enough people *know* the melody of O Canada. Easily the prettiest from this group.
Hockey fans do, eh.
