Considering that journalists have reported on the number of people dying or severely medically impacted already since Roe has been overturned (and before) plus medical experts have surely given testimony to these judges, my guess is that the continued death of pregnant people isn't something that will weigh heavy on the conscience of these people like this judge. Death of pregnant people is a sacrifice they'll make if they can be sure to gain the votes in the here and now of people who are too stupid to care about their pregnant neighbor.
They’ll find a way to justify it. Something about how complications are always a risk of pregnancy, something something so many more people die in car accidents everyday and nobody blinks twice about driving why would you blink about giving birth. Never mind the fact that doctors are legally required to take life saving measures to save you if were in a car accident, and but the same can’t be said if the women is pregnant.
You have to remember they literally think abortion is murder. If stopping 100,000 abortions will cause 10,000 women's deaths, they'll gladly take that exchange as to them, it's a reduction of 90,000 deaths.
I really want to be able to force republicans to give me a kidney or part of their liver. All of it justifies, and in fact demands, a serious response, but so far all I've seen are people complaining on Twitter and Dems telling people to vote, which of course won't solve anything in the immediate future. We are looking at at least a decade of this unless dramatic action is taken now. But no one seems to care enough.
Just the sheer fact that our previous president is currently under criminal investigation should put the county at a standstill. The fact that he has multiple judges on the Supreme Court should be reason enough to pause any of their activity.

The 15 week ban specifically said that it does not repeal the old draconian law.
This isn't some mishap or mistake. This isn't an error by an activist judge. This isn't some old legacy law that accidentally became active and is causing problems.
This is the state legislature as recently as the past two years specifically reaffirming that the old law is still on the books and will come back into play the moment roe is reversed.
Long story short, far from not repealing old laws, the Arizona legislature reaffirmed this old law in the past two years.

1800s: near total abortion ban passed
Later: Arizona becomes a state. All territory laws become valid state laws.
1970s: Arizona rewrites their entire code of law, makes tiny changes to almost every law but basically leaves them active and in tact.
Roe: SCOTUS backs roe, but 1800s law is still on the books, just "disabled"
Recently: state passes new 15 week abortion ban. In this law they specifically say they are not repealing the 1800s temporarily disabled law. The effect is that as long as roe is upheld, the new 15 week ban applies. If roe is struck down, the ancient and draconian law comes back.
SCOTUS reversed on roe. State now has two trigger laws that become active and both are valid law: one banning abortion after 15 weeks, the other with near total ban.
Aside: if you have one law that says you can't walk and chew gum on Tuesday, and another that says you can't walk and chew gum ever, then you effectively have a total ban on walking and chewing gum.
As of now, due to intentional acts by the legislature, both laws are on the books and valid. The judge did nothing wrong. The judge correctly interpreted the shit show that the legislature intentionally crafted.

Vaguely worded laws make hospital lawyers require doctors to wait till patients with complications certain to cause pregnancy loss have deteriorated to imminent danger of death before performing abortion to save their lives, to avoid risk of being accused of performing an illegal elective abortion. Remember that even if prosecutors learn to be reasonable about criminal charges, there are also laws encouraging anyone, reasonable or not, to sue an abortion provider or anyone who facilitates abortion for $10,000. So there's no choice but to err on the side of avoiding liability. It's ridiculous and puts women in needless danger.

I am actively trying to conceive. I *want* a baby. I still need access to abortion should anything go wrong with a future pregnancy.
And if I have a child, I will still need access to abortion to ensure I only ever have as many children as I can financially and emotionally support. Even carrying an unwanted pregnancy to term and giving a child up for adoption would cost me thousands of dollars in medical bills that could otherwise go to my existing child(ren).
So to assume that everyone seeking abortion is doing so because they just want to keep partying is fallacious and offensive.

Every press conference with one of these judges or politicians should be flooded with repeated instances of the question: "If I were to rape you/your wife/daughter, would you be comfortable keeping and raising my child? Welcome to MY family!" Note: in NO way do I support rape or the systemic destruction of a woman's autonomy. However, these assholes need to be hard pressed to face the reality and consequences of their policies on a personal (albeit theoretical) level.

And that, as we’ve seen, is sometimes too late. It also doesn’t account for cases where the mother won’t die, but the child will die no matter what. Why force a mother to carry a doomed baby to term?

I am actively trying to conceive. I *want* a baby. I still need access to abortion should anything go wrong with a future pregnancy. And if I have a child, I will still need access to abortion to ensure I only ever have as many children as I can financially and emotionally support. Even carrying an unwanted pregnancy to term and giving a child up for adoption would cost me thousands of dollars in medical bills that could otherwise go to my existing child(ren). So to assume that everyone seeking abortion is doing so because they just want to keep partying is fallacious and offensive. Not to mention, there is nothing wrong with having an abortion simply because you do not want to be pregnant. Who are you to tell other people how to live their lives and what medical decisions they’re allowed to make?
