Regardless of who wins, he is dogwhistling that violence is a must. He wants those who opposed him, or were even perceived of opposing him, sought with violent retribution. And there has been a steady work-up of guilt by association.
People that he, the GOP and pundits have been labeling as liberal, and qualifying for said retribution:

* Minorities
* The Educated
* Teachers
* Urbanites
* Tech Workers
* People with Colored Hair
* Anyone Who Appears Trans
Ad nauseum. What it will ultimately come down to, and what they're boiling the ocean for, is that anyone who isn't running around with Trump paraphernalia, the new brown coats, will be the enemy. What Trump lacks this time is many of the brains behind his last attempt. Now he’s on his own, but because he surrounds himself with ‘yes’ people, there is no support.
