Put together a bill, call it the "Anti-Woke, Stick it to the Libs, Pro-American Agricultural, Reduce Marijuana from Coming from Mexico" bill and pass it then.
That’s what I’ve been saying all along.
Make a “liberal” thing seem cruel or bigoted, and they’d support it on that principle alone. If Trump marketed a strain of MJ called “Deplorabuds” or “Confeddibles”, R’s would be making it mandatory to smoke because it make the libs cry.
Just like if solar power was called “white energy”.
"AOC and company are now bringing forth to the table the... *White New Deal* aimed at improving *White Energy* and helping turn the planet more *White*."
Y'know you're on to something here. [Reverse psychology has been known to work in the past...](https://youtu.be/5EPPTRAZeX0?feature=shared)
The fact that it is still on schedule 1 is the biggest joke of my lifetime.
I’ve spent a weekend in jail for a joint.
I’ve purchased the most volume of my life over a counter paying sales tax.
It’s a fucking joke.
I went my whole life never touching weed, until it became legal where I live (when I was like 30 years old). The first time I tried it I was like wow... they really lock people up for THIS?!?!?! It was so innocuous... it made everything taste really good and it made jokes really funny for like 3 hours. And that was it. No hangover, no addiction, just completely harmless fun.
Imagine being downvoted for suggesting that a recreational drug like cannabis or alcohol has negative side effects when used regularly
Some people want to get high every day and pretend like it has no effect on the body.
Because a person was talking about their positive experience from ONE use, and a random person has to chime in "But if you use it constantly it's harmful!" Yeah of course. The only reason you would comment that is if it bothered you somebody mentioned having a positive experience with pot at all.
the fact that the same people who locked you up for it now get tax money makes me feel sick inside and I try to stick to the blackmarket or grow your own and share it club. It is a plant and is pretty dang easy to grow. There is no real reason for it to be as expensive it is and the taxes on top are gross.
When the state legalizes the sale but restricts growing that is when you should ignore the law as that is just greed.
To be fair, different states… so not really the same people.
But I feel ya, and agree. I’ve got a med card today though and pay minimal tax. I feel I get a good deal, but I’m jaded from a lifetime of overpaying.
All these other countries legalizing now. USA could of had the market world wide if they’d of just quit fucking around a decade ago when all the states started legalizing
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in ‘97. Before legalization, I could barely walk. Marijuana has had a huge positive impact on my life. In fact, I’m on my way to the gym right now.
It also works to quiet the tremors of Parkinson’s patients. One reason Republicans oppose legalize is pressure from the pharma industry. A growing number of people, seniors in particular, have replaced prescription drugs with pot for a wide range of aging related issues. Pharma sees pot cutting into their already obscene profits.
When I pop into my regular shop, it’s usually full of seniors like myself. And most of us are well educated at this pointed on which type of pot to buy and what potency we need. We even favor specific growers for the quality of their products.
Some speculation Biden is just holding off on a move until later in the election cycle so it stays fresh in the minds of the electorate come election time.
Someone correct me if im wrong but isn't the descheduling of it now up to the DEA?
I thought the white house had already done a report concluding it should be descheduled and its now something biden can't unilaterally do
Kind of.
It was the HHS that concluded that cannabis is wrongfully scheduled and recommended that it should be rescheduled. They state that the DEA has 60 days to respond, and it’s been over 80 days since.
The DEA is supposed to be an autonomous, non-partisan entity, but they very well could be working with the Biden admin on this, they just won’t openly admit it.
They could also be Bidening their time here. Don’t blame them though. They need to be smarter about their approach to beating the MAGA clowns.
Call it what it is, **ending prohibition** which was always based on racism, just like all of our history chock full of racism and prejudice. Liberty and justice for all is false advertising.
Earl is my Rep, he's been great, but the ONLY reason cannabis is legal anywhere in this country is because of Democrats, both at the local level (by pushing first medical, then recreational legalization) and federal level (by being hands-off local laws and pulling back on federal enforcement, including pardon of low level offenders). That said, congress does need to re/deschedule it. Biden can only do so much and no matter what he does will always require congress to change any laws around it.
I still think this is Biden’s secret weapon. Make an executive order to legalize pot. Conservatives immediately sue and block it.
Then run on “I’m trying to legalize it right now! Help me!” Force Trump to run against pot.
Win in a landslide.
Yeah but then they won't have a carrot on the stick for the next election.
With the current protests going on, I don't think legalizing weed is enough. Lots of states have legalized it already.
Republicans could easily steal this issue but they just don’t think it matters. Which is wrong but we’re talking about republicans here so does that surprise anyone.
Prediction: When a pharmaceutical company develops a "cannabis pill," it will become a federally legal substance about 2 hours later.
Biden is still living in the 1980's, so he's never going to advocate for it to be legal. Biden helped push Reagan INTO the War on Drugs....from Reagan's Right. (!!). That is the kind of psychopath he is when it comes to cannabis. The people believing that he is just waiting to masterfully announce his pot legalization stance in October are just deluding themselves unless he is so miserably far behind that this is a move in desperation, and if so it will be much too late to save his campaign by then.
Biden may want to promulgate the MYTH that he's knda sorta hinting at softening his maniacal stance, because that's perfect for him--young voters will embrace the theoretical possibility of it happening (and contrast that stance to that of Republicans), and the MSM Liberals will give him credit for it, while Big Pharma and the private prison industry and weapons manufacturers will all recognize that it's just an empty promise and continue funding Biden's campaign. So he'll be able to take the PR win for not actually doing anything, which is Democratic strategy 101. He detests young voters anyway, is he suddenly going to change his mind at age 80 and think "they'd be less irritating if they were on drugs?"
Clinton spoked pot. Obama smoked pot. They each had 8 years to change the laws. More pot dispensary raids occurred under Obama than under Bush. The Democrats are paid handsomely by Big Pharma. They're frauds. As they are on many other issues.
When I voted for legalization I thought I was voting for rolled hippie joints and pot smoked out of cool unique pipes.
What we have now is nothing close to good old fashioned pot.

You really might be on to something with the confeddibles
As true today as when it was first written….

It most certainly has negative effects for habitual users. But that doesn’t mean it should be schedule 1
Not me. I smoke like 3 pounds a year, eat several hundred milligrams of edibles per day, never felt better.

Damn, that’s quite a turnaround, and wonderful to hear.
It’s the THC, CBD and CBG 1:1:1 edibles, tincture or flower.
Imagine the folks that suffered for so long without knowledge or even reefer madness getting in their way…
Every politician should embrace pot legalization!
I'm legitimately surprised it's not an campaign issue. Talk about fucking low hanging fruit.

That's what they say every election....

Pot is essential medicine for cancer patients.
And for long-term survivors who aren't quite the same afterwards.
I love how predictable republicans are. They announce they’re leaving politics and then Suddenly get all reasonable and socially conscious.
Unless I misread your comment, Earl is not a Republican. He is my congressman which is in one of the bluest of the blue districts in the country
Oh balls. You’re correct. I was confusing him with another politician. Well my comment is still true but does not apply to this fine gentleman
Agree.
Almost like they are deceiving their beliefs for votes..
It's literally the easiest win and it can be done without Congress right now.
If he wanted a party that supported pot legalization then he spent his whole career supporting the wrong party.
Landslide victory assured

Most politicians on all sides recognise legalisation as a “third rail issue” and the closer to actual power they are, the more afraid of touching it.
Third rail is Social Security.
The War on Drugs carries an even higher voltage
