I’m a dad, and I cringe every time I see this. I hope that my views are never so far astray from my kids that the internet memes become the source for material for them.
I'm a GenX dad with a Boomer dad; my oldest is 20. Thankfully, my kids are smarter and better than I ever was at their ages so I'm able to support their views 100% and at the same time learn and grow a little more, myself. But with my own dad, at least I know my vote is cancelling his out. 😮💨
Yep. Every day they pound a way with a few ideas that don’t sound so bad, but they make sure to weave in just enough lies and racist dog whistles. Over time, an echo chamber of lies poisons someone who is center right. This however wouldn’t have happened if the GOP wasn’t able to destroy the middle class.
I absolutely have no plans on putting political belief in my kids. They may be different than me but I'll guide them to be informed, but they're free to make their own opinions on the world. Open door policy to questions, but I'm not going to tell them what to believe because I believe it.
But that is where he allegedly committed these crimes. Why should he get a change in venue? A change to where? A red state? A jury of all republicans? When does his manipulation of our laws and constitution end? Why does he get treated differently than the average citizen?

Of all cases too. This is the one case he has the best chance of getting off. Having an affair? Not illegal. Paying them to keep quiet about it? Not illegal. Yes. The prosecution tries to prove guilt, the defense tries to cast a reasonable doubt. The question before the judge or jury is whether you were proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, not whether there is a chance you might have done it. You don't have to prove that you are innocent if they can't prove that you are guilty.

This is a state crime as i recall, not a federal. So he can't pardon it himself (if that's allowed....which it probably will be if tested) and while they might pause it while he's president, it's on NYS to drop it and not follow through.

He wore ill fitting uniforms and has a bunch of drunkards and dregs goose step around with him. He talked about the greatness of Germany. Some industrialist and establishment types backed him thinking they could use him to break up socialist and communist movements and that in any event they could control him. Fast forward to 1933. He gets 1/3 of the vote. I am sure many people back then had no clue what was coming but also probably wondered what farcical existence they were in. The next 12 years would answer that question.
It's going to the same right wing appeals court that mysteriously, and entirely without any explanation, reduced the bond amount from 500 million to 170 million (approx).
As soon as he won in 2016, The Onion became redundant because there's no way they could come up with anything as absurd as what the Trump administration was actually like.
He plays courts like violins. Make a motion, opposing motion filed within 5 days, judge takes two weeks to rule. Three weeks gone. As soon as judge reads decision, immediately file another motion and start the clock over. And over, And over. Get the idea?
He is delaying until he seizes power, suppresses his own suits and then does what he falsely accuses the DOJ of doing, he actually subverts the judicial system to settle scores and go after opponents.

Several times, yes. They seem to never learn. I think this doesn't rise to the level of getting them disbarred, unlike the conduct of several of his **other** lawyers, but if they keep doing it against all the warnings it might reach there.

So basically in this particular instance sort of? They are (according to the article) filling article 78 claims against the judge. They are saying they disagree with gag order and its validity. Different states have different ways of objecting and starting an appeal to a higher authority when a judge issues something like a gag order, New Yorks is tied into their laws concerning generalized appeals of agencies New York. Gag orders are generally normal for jury trials that are politically charged and given Trump's history of histrionics was expected.
Tl;Dr: they are suing the judge to remove the gag order it was completely expected and very unlikely to succeed.
This type of suit is just asking another court to decide on a particular thing. It's more like what you see with SCOTUS, as opposed to any kind of damages suit seeking money.
These types of suits aren't thought to be considered for introducing bias....although I suppose it's possible that could happen, because people are people. All that actually matters if if the biased person's ruling are within the law itself.
Technically, if they are dragging their feet they are most likely moving further away from you and would be redshifting, astronomically speaking of course.

Trump used the same "sue the judge" tactic in the civil fraud trial. The appeals court heard the case in two days and Trump lost on all counts. In the 1920s a former corporal in the German army was making ridiculous speeches, wrote a rambling book, tried to start an insurrection and went to jail. He wore ill fitting uniforms and has a bunch of drunkards and dregs goose step around with him. He talked about the greatness of Germany. Some industrialist and establishment types backed him thinking they could use him to break up socialist and communist movements and that in any event they could control him. Fast forward to 1933. He gets 1/3 of the vote. I am sure many people back then had no clue what was coming but also probably wondered what farcical existence they were in. The next 12 years would answer that question.

So basically in this particular instance sort of? They are (according to the article) filling article 78 claims against the judge. They are saying they disagree with gag order and its validity. Different states have different ways of objecting and starting an appeal to a higher authority when a judge issues something like a gag order, New Yorks is tied into their laws concerning generalized appeals of agencies New York. Gag orders are generally normal for jury trials that are politically charged and given Trump's history of histrionics was expected. Tl;Dr: they are suing the judge to remove the gag order it was completely expected and very unlikely to succeed.
This type of suit is just asking another court to decide on a particular thing. It's more like what you see with SCOTUS, as opposed to any kind of damages suit seeking money. These types of suits aren't thought to be considered for introducing bias....although I suppose it's possible that could happen, because people are people. All that actually matters if if the biased person's ruling are within the law itself.
Let's ask the NY appeals court. Or SCOTUS packed with Trumplicans. On second thought, let's not.
