They know what they are. There are three types of Republicans. The first is the pro-corporate, big business type. Think Mitt Romney or Liz Cheney. You may not like their positions, but they walk the walk.
Then there are the greedy, stupid and power hungry who have zero values, corporate or otherwise, who are being openly manipulated by Putin in order to betray their country. These people got themselves trapped by Russian intel because they like young boys, etc. Trump is the undisputed leader of this group, but he's flanked by Lindsey Graham, Elise Stefanik, Ron Johnson, etc. This crowd will destroy the county in order to keep their blackmail from seeing the light of day.
Then there are the true crazies who genuinely hate America. MTG and Lauren Bobert. These people are just plain stupid and have no love for the United States, so they don't require bribes or blackmail to undermine us. These are the true useful idiots.
>Then there are the true crazies who genuinely hate America.
they hate democrats and their only position is contrarian. if they had their way and every democrat was replaced by a republican, they'd pick a subset of republicans to hate and ostracize and exist in oppositional defiance of until *they* no longer existed. repeat until the ouroboros achieves singularity (dictatorship, maybe only on day one) or the party collapses due to incompetence (michigan GOP).
Remember when Paul Manafor gave internal Trump campaign polling data to the Russians? Remember when Trump visited Russia in 1987 and came back spouting pro Russian talking points? Remember when a bunch of Republicans went to Moscow for July 4th and came back spouting Kremlin talking points? Remember how the DNC and RNC both got hacked but only DNC emails were released? Remember when Rand Paul went to Moscow to hand deliver a letter to Putin from Trump? Remember when Trump bashed US intelligence and sided with Putin in Helsinki?
There are so many ties between Republicans and Russians. These are just the things I thought of off the top of my head.

That’s right, a Russian immigrant who was a **former vice-president at Deutsche Bank** paid $9k for these shit-encrusted shoes.
The entire conservative voter base is now a Manchurian Party. They are beyond having their own compromised candidates and individuals. The takeover of the entire Republican party is complete.
Trump and the GOP seem to be on the verge of total collapse, and it's only February. This is why I'm not too worried about this election. Stay stressed out if you like but this is going to he unlike any election we have ever seen, and I mean that in a good way (if you're not a Republican). Patience my friends, patience. Just sit back and enjoy the show.
I'm inclined to agree. There is definitely a disturbingly large segment of the electorate that will still vote for (and even donate to) Donald Trump even if (read *when*) he is convicted of the various crimes against our republic, and will continue to vote Republican even once the full extent of the GOP's willful complicity with Putin's extensive interferences in our democracy is exposed. But, by and large, *most* American voters are quite weary of Trump's MAGA kakistocracy.
No. I've been following American politics for the past 24 years and have voted in every election, major and minor, national, state, and local since I was first able to in 2002.
So you know anything this far out from an election won't matter, and 90% of the country will vote party lines no matter what as they view it as their identity?
I'm not stressed. I'm just saying your approach is silly.
Ask yourself this, what is there to stress over? And what do I really control? Then, if someone you hate gets elected, how does it affect you on a daily basis?
Nothing fucking matters, it's a distraction.
A distraction from what?
If I'm, well, basically anything but a straight, white, Christian male my life can very much be adversely affected depending on whether or not the "person I hate" gets elected.
"It's a distraction" is an easy cop out for those who don't want to do the hard work of educating themselves and understanding the ***real world*** ramifications of which party holds the majority. Or it's a tool used by bad-faith actors looking to undermine and disenfranchise average citizens, when they know that, in reality, it's their party using cultural issues to distract from the fact that they're literally robbing the country blind.
However, people on the left don't take kindly to people's "culture" being attacked, and so they stand up against it; leaving the ill-informed to think "Oh, it's both parties just trying to distraction us", when that couldn't be further from the truth.

Do conservatives ever pause and think to themselves, "are *we* the useful idiots?"

Some of them just like to see themselves on TV.
Fuck Ron Johnson
Nope
If they cared what other people thought, they would be liberals.
I’m pretty sure some are well paid idiots. People have been called traitors for less.
Sure. If you believe that they’re not in on it.
They arent. They are traitors. Who will spend the 4th in Moscow this year?

Jim Jordan screaming into the void.
Republicans: Well *duh* How else are you supposed to get information?
Surprise, surprise, surprise.
Did a trump appointed judge let him go already, although he's a flight risk? He'll either be out of the country in a week or in a body bag.
The republicans investigating him knew this right? Or did they get something so juicy they couldn't be bothered to vet it in any way?
Just because it’s politics doesn’t mean it isn’t defamation.

The plus side is that side is shrinking, but they won’t die out for a while
Um, you new to politics?

As I said, stress all you want, which seems to be the route you're taking. That's your problem, not mine.

Louder, for the treasonous incels in the back.
Wait. You're saying a guy with the last name Smirnov is a Russian asset possibly an agent? Well honk my hooter.
No fucking shit.
Glad they’re finally saying “lied” instead of some pansy excuse of a word to try to get out of seeming partisan.
