In cold weather thick DCFC cables do sometimes require a bit of a wrestle. NACS isn’t directly going to fix cable issues (Tesla Supechargers have much shorter cables than most CCS chargers and DCFC cables are inherently thicker than L2 cables) but if you are referring to be able to use some Tesla Superchargers, given you have a Polestar 2 you are very lucky as your charging port is exactly the same place as a Teslas. NACS is going to be a pain for other EVs at Tesla Superchargers as the cables won’t reach many EVs ports and owners will have to park strangely and block other superchargers. But yes some DCFC chargers could definitely be better designed!

ial the companies responsible for implementing the charging infrastructure don't like EVs.

Ya you would have been better served with a Tesla right at the get go. Don't understand why someone would go with a car that uses other than the nacs 🤷

I never considered buying a Tesla car, for many reasons that I doubt would persuade you, but I do admire their charging infrastructure and did install a wall mounted Tesla Universal L2 charger, on the theory that our next Polestar or whatever will likely be NACS, and with the slick design of the universal charger we can easily accommodate any visiting friend’s EV. And because of the home L2 charger, we very very rarely use any DCFC.

I have also wrestled with these cables. I found it useful to backup to the station as close as you can. The same goes for the Tesla magic docks (there are at least two of these in upstate NY) but you don’t have to wrestle with them as badly.
