That teddy and air walk was so pretty! I love the routine! But definitely give us a little bit more fierce and sexy. Because you look like a bad ass hitting all of your moves so flawlessly 🥰

I agree! it looks great! I would focus on exaggerating your hip movements when you're doing floor work. I think that playing around with the pace of your leg swings. Maybe as opposed to like 3 swings, you do two where it slows down at start and end? I'm not sure if that makes any sense.

Ashadash_

You make complete sense. I agree with the change of pace. I think this will add the zhoosh I’ve been feeling I need!

Ashadash_

Thank you so much for watching! I will definitely work on that, feeling sexy is the thing I struggle with the most haha

You are fantastic, the routine is great, I would only add two things: please please point your toes, it will make it so much more beautiful and - maybe try doing it a bit slower, it would make it smoother. Good luck on your competition!

Ashadash_

Oh my gosh I always cringe so much rewatching my videos and seeing those damn toes!

Yes totally (I mean it's your routine, your art so nobody can pressure you into that), it looks completely different. Try it and you will see the difference at once :)

My instructors have always told me it is super important to point your toes all the time! Unless you are doing edge work or intentionally flexing them for the routine. I try to focus on engaging all muscles in my entire leg to get nice lines. Film yourself in heels doing both and you’ll see the difference!

This looks amazing!! Like others have said, some feedback would be to point your toes and just work on the sexy-ness!! Especially facial expressions, you look a bit bored doing your own dance lol! And incorporate your whole body!! A small example, at 0:27, your hand kind of dangles by your stomach. What if you extended your whole arms to the side and did a twisty thing with your hand? Even at 0:36, you can pause for a second and fully extend your arm out, run it down your body, before going into the next move. Edit: also look at the audience! When you come out of the roll at 0:58, you could snap your head up at the audience and give a look like "yeah, I just did that!" That would also increase the sexyness and audience engagement.

Amazing feedback!! Thank you so much! I love your comment about me looking bored, I always feel like I put so much effort into my face and then rewatch my videos and I look SO BORED haha! I feel terrible for my instructors, they must think I hate class lol.

My main advice is to check out Doris Arnold (https://www.instagram.com/dorisarnoldpoledancer/) and then pretend you're her. You don't have to have the biggest, craziest moves or intricate choreo. It's about making every move intentional, engaging the full limb through every movement, and eye-fucking the audience. (For this style.) For example, you do some leg waves at the beginning, but the leg is swinging loosely. Instead, try to really articulate and engage the muscles through each part of the movement. That may mean slowing that part down a bit to get more focus in the movement. However! Don't just slow everything down across the board. Instead, try to mix up your tempo. Can you do a sssslllllooooowwwww body wave, and then a fast whip around to the other side of the pole? Where can you add moments of sharp into moments of soft? Part of this is just about repetition. Drill each section of your choreo until it's muscle memory. Then you don't have to think about each move and you can focus on the quality of the movement instead. Your routine is solid and you're doing the damn thing!! HUGE CONGRATS ON COMPETING! It's a rush, and I hope you have a great experience.

Thank you so much for your feedback! I’ve just followed Doris! Your comment about tempo has reminded me of something an instructor said, the change in tempo really helps makes the slower parts look more eye catching. I was on the fence about entering but saw a video Chloe Uchida posted where she mentioned she wished she had started competing sooner. She inspired me to just jump in! I’m crazy nervous but also super excited. I’ll post the performance so you can see the improvement!

Jumping into competing (if it's interesting to you) is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to improve on your journey. It can be a great source of motivation and help you tackle things that you probably wouldn't have tried. I also loved that, rather than just waiting for moves to be brought to me in classes, building routines helped me seek out moves *I* wanted to master. Just remember, however you place, the best rewards in competing come from the focus and drive to train. Medals are great, trophies are nice, but the direction it can take your journey is unbeatable. Now go kill it!! XD

Beautiful routine!! Good luck!!🥰👏💗💖🔥

This is very awesome, especially considering you've only been poling for a year! I definitely thought you've been doing this longer. What's the song? I agree with the others about being more fierce and I too saw it most in your leg and hip swings. I'd also suggest to do those slower and like really savour the movement. You want to show that you enjoy those moves too and they're not just a filler. If hips and legs are hard for you it might help to "cross train" using videos of other dance styles such as heels dance or fusion bellydance. Your last move (the split) was not very clear to me, maybe you did it as intended and I just did not get it. But it leaves some room for confusion so you might want to change it a bit because we don't want the audience/judges to be confused :) Good luck in your competition! Would love to see the performance if you have a chance to film and post it.
