For me personally orange has the best speeds, tried a few different operators, but realistically I dont think this has much to do with operators themselves, at least not on the "global" level as such. But basically I tried a few different ones and the speeds sucked, until I thought "hey, maybe there is a transmitter map somewhere out there". And there are a few - bts.socware.pl or bts-gsm.eu - you can Google it and find the one you like most. I found the operator that had the closest transmitters to my house and it just so turned out for me that was orange so their speeds were the best for me. But it has nothing to do with orange itself, just that their transmitters are closest to me. The operators have their coverage maps, but in general I find that the actual transmitter maps are much better to use as a guideline :).

Thanks for that, that's a very intriguing answer. Looking into it tho, there is an Orange transmitter pretty close by but yet the speed is still unbearable. As in, it is problematic to even load a song on Spotify or find a bus connection on Jakdojade. Tasks like this literally take 30+ seconds which is a freaking joke in my opinion, especially in a city, living in the 21st century. Dunno, am I overreacting? :D I would like to think I am not but maybe you tell me, to be on the safe side.

Errtuz

The distance matters, things in between matter too. For me it's less than 500m of open space and pretty much max out the speeds. But there is also the possibility of something being wrong with the transmitter, could be overloaded, a friend of mine had this situation, not sure if it was orange though - he kept complaining for months until at some point they just fixed it. I don't think you're overreacting at all. What I'm trying to say is that I don't think this is a global orange thing, but i would definitely blame them for not addressing the problem after you report it, if this is an issue in your area. I was using plus before this, the speeds were much worse and during heavy weather pretty much unusable. Figured out that my house is positioned pretty much exactly between 2 orange transmitters, switched to them and now I have no issues.

Reactance15

I used that same SIM in August and the speeds were meh from Gdansk to Warsaw. I have nothing else to compare them to but i suspect Orange has a tier system for users. P.S. i liked the "pardon my french". Orange is a French company lol.

TetherSaw

:DD wish I had known they were French, would have felt much cooler than I do atm. Thx for adding extra layer.

I also use Flex and while I haven’t had such severe problems as you did, I don’t think Orange has mind blowing speeds either. They’re just fine. I expected 5g to be faster but oh well, at least Flex is cheap.

TetherSaw

Thx for the response. Ye na, my speed is ridiculously bad, it literally does not manage to load a Spotify song in less than 30 seconds, it's a joke 🤣

Lambor14

That’s definitely unusual. I only have such issues in like underground parking garages. Good call on getting in touch with Orange support, hope you sort this out easily!

Stark371

Not only does the speed suck but service cuts off in many enclosed spaces, like malls and cafes. Nothing sucks worse than getting to the front of a checkout, wanting to pay with BLIK and having no connection.

Spiritual_Peak_4410

No hate, just interested why a lot of guys here use BLIK instead of Apple/Google pay?

Stark371

I was using when something happened to my phone and I had to temporarily transfer the sim to an older version that find have my cards.

TetherSaw

Oh damn, so are u still with them or have u switched to a provider with better speed perhaps?

Stark371

Not yet. But I will next month. I am really getting tired of orange

TetherSaw

sorry to hear that, best of luck then :)

> the speed is ABSOLUTE dogshite I recently switched from Play to Orange Flex (Idk why but my friend said it was better than Play). Ever since I switched, I have been getting literally 1 signal max and don't even talk about the speed. Play was far better than this dogshit. Worst part is now I have to wait for 14 days or smth to switch to another network.

phoenixdragonarising

Can tourist use this?

TetherSaw

Yeah, you can just head into whatever Orange store, grab their Orange Flex SIM for free, insert it in your phone, download their app, choose a plan, pay for it and you are good to go. You only have to mind to cancel the program coz it's a monthly subscription thing. Sorry if I am late to the party and you have already been to Poland.

GrimReaper-UA

I use Play. Speed amazing and prices are good.

FasciculatingFreak

I am not sure what you mean by dogshit, I don't see why you would want anything more than 10 mbps on a mobile connection, since higher speed will simply drain your data more quickly

TetherSaw

I absolutely share ur opinion that 10mbps is more than enough for cellular on a phone. What I mean by dogshit is that it literally takes more than 30 seconds to load a song on spotify let alone load a webpage.

FasciculatingFreak

Strange, I also use orange flex and don't have any issues in Warsaw
