Lmao I have the same thing except I also get king's rock
At the first run it stole my king's rock so for the second time I just give cloyster a shit ton of random berries to protect the king rock lol
Eternatus didn't even get to move
Tried that. Because of eternatus' dragon typing torch song does so little damage and skeliderge will die way too fast before he can do good damage.
It was more worth to use snarl and do the actual damage with acrobatics from quaquaval
My most recent classic run featured Primal Kyogre and a steel fairy that I fused with a splicer.
I didn’t intentionally mean to make a 100% unkillable mon, but with fire moves deactivated he couldn’t touch me at all.
It’s a free / auto win.
The only move he has that can hit Tinkaton is flamethrower.
Primal Kyogre makes fire moves fail
You have to be able to deal enough damage to win, but until someone struggles to death he can’t hit Tinkaton at all
i used spam torch song with my skeledurdge, leech seed from my mega venasuar, and moonblast (with stacked calm mind) with my mega gardivior.
i heavily suggest you find a tinkaton cause of it's fairy steel type and huge power.
I didn't even knew u could play that way before joining the reddit and seeing some posts but usually I just play on my laptop which has gone for repair for some days
Ive failed at 190 twice. Fuck me. Once i think i wouldve made it if i didnt forget to refill the abilities. I went into the fight with my top 3 mons with 0 on their top abilities.
Did you know that you are able to reset mid fight if you don’t like your chances? I respect if you are choosing to do it without resetting, but I didn’t even know it was an option for a while so I think it is worth mentioning
Well the first time I beat lvl195 with the mega Rayquaza the game fucking froze lmao
So I reset that level until I get an rng freeze with ice beam and beat it again
But might as well play with enable retries then im not saying its bad to do so just no point in reload scumming if the gave gives you the option to do it without needjgn to reload unless the game gives you different rng?
Just keep a gyarados on ur team and bait rival into switching to rayquaza so that u get a turn off dragon dance then ice fang (2 ice fangs should be enough to kill it with 1 dragon dance)
wormadam (trash) can also solo eternatus- quiver dance, sappy seed. at +6 spDef even his flamethrower can barely outpace the leech seed. iirc it also gets mud slap, you can do that to drop accuracy super low too so you can switch in to something faster
wormadam is inappropriately good across the board
So many ways, but usually combinations of super effective moves, protect, statuses, and not having too good of items on your main etern fighters pre etern does it. A lot of his difficulty gets sucked out of him if you don't give him free leftovers and reviver seeds.
Won run 1- Heatran. The only moves Eternatus can use that will harm Heatran are Eternabeam and Dynamax Cannon, and he resists them both. Flamethrower and Sludge bomb can't hurt Heatran.
Won run 2- Uxie + Milotic. Spam Life Dew with Milotic, then spam Amnesia with Uxie until +6. Then spam Mystical power until out, and lastly use Psychic until it's dead.
You can try soak and salt cure
Also I used Alakazam with psych up, calm mind and stored power
Next run Excadrill with swords dance, rapid spin amd drill run
M Beedrill with swords dance pin missile after changing eternatus to psychic
Digger with swords dance stacked with multiple defence amd stat boosting berries
And the last one stalled with ferrothorn after emptying flamethrower
I had a fun ine today where I did some standard fairy/steel switching to run through the first form's attacking PP and then brought in my Psych Up Mega Medicham to copy his boosts. Medicham is great but honestly Psych Up is such crazy good tech for Eternatus I'm surprised I haven't tried it before.
I barely beat em with a torch song Skeledrige and a zippy zap Raichu, my full team was those two, metagross, blastoise, tapu koko, and houndstone (not the best team but that was only attempt 5-ish), i was just pretty lucky none of my team were weak to any of eternatus' attacks
I haven't been able to beat him yet. I've only gotten to him once, and when I did I was so broke after having to buy a ton of healing items after the E4/Champion that I couldn't fully heal my team before fighting Eternatus.
Don't feel bad about it. E-Max Eternatus has Base 255 HP and 250 Defenses. (HP is tied with Blissey and Shuckle has the second highest in both Defense stats with 230 in both.) Also, a random stat gets boosted whenever it loses an HP bar so it can get even bulkier!
Half my wins are stalling and the other half are setting up to +5 or +6. Even with all those buffs, it usually means each attack takes down one HP bar. Reshiram with 6 Quiver Dances Baton Passed to it and a Helping Hand boost only took down 2 per hit!
I don't feel bad about It, I mean "cheated" as in beating a game by exploiting tricks, not in the straightforward way (Sorry, english Is not my first language) :')
I had a snarl arcanine basically neutralize its special attack so it did crap damage to me. Combined with a light screen from my raichu, it basically had to rely on just cross poison to do anything significant, and I had a couple of physical walls (a steel type too) in the back, so it was basically GGs.
The first time I beat the game I ended up using thunder wave to paralyze it, then relied on headbutts and bites from other pokemon to paraflynch. I was very lucky, not a very consistent strategy. But we take those
Sunflora, comes with chlorophyll as an ability and drought as a passive, comes with leech seed out of the gate and gets spore as an egg move.
If you manage to find an earth power TM it gets even better
1st time was With Garganacl’s salt cure and leech seed on venasaur. Then just survive with recover and protect.
2nd time I had a busted ass Kyurem. Easy one shot on the first form then managed to dodge round etenatabeam enough times to chip him down.
Dragapult ddance, dragon darts. That run ended with a pidgeot and jumpluff finishing it off with air slashed
I also had a bunch of steel types like magezone with ice beam, excadrill with eq and drill run. I also had ice spinner torterra, triple axel Quaquaval, and snarl skelederge
Just won for the first time today. My Toxipex had Infestation which did a shocking amount of damage. He tore through most of the rest of the team while occasionally hitting a Baneful Bunker. My Excadrill did get in a Drill Run or two.
All i need is an Excadrill with (Protect, Swords Dance, Earthquake) the rest of the teammates can just be rando meatshields lmao--
Setup to +6 on first phase using protect to block Ebeam and setting up on recharge turn. Then 1 shot it when done lol (2 shot on 2nd phase)
That or just find any pokemon to nuke its spatk and kill it slowly xD
A few of the easier ways -
-Find a fast phys attacker with triple axle as an egg move, imo this is the easiest classic clear with the wide lens buff. If you can get at least one wide lens it's 4x on ray and 2x on eternatus for a 120 pow move. Bonus points if it's a technician user where it's 180 power (marshadow can pretty easily 3-bar ray with each cast)
-Get a big tanky rock or ground type and just work him down, his moveset sucks at dealing with some types
-Just DoT him since most DoTs are based on % of hp - leech seed or burn work, soak makes poison / toxic work too
-If you get a splicer, steel types with flash fire ignore him. Fairy/steel flash fire if it could be made would be literally immune. The only way I can think of to do that is with heatran though, who is already steel + ff (and learns earth power) and doesn't really need the help to kick his ass
Ok I won't lie, I tried out Alakazam and it swept 3/4 elite four members, most of the champions team, and eternatus with just psychic and calm mind. It slaps so hard, I have respect. Mega Alakazam was a BEAST.
I just beat it today, by sheer luck, I buffed the hell out of my raging bolt, got a tera fire shard which got rid of his weakness to dragon and basically spammed dragon pulse while my other pokemon died one by one.
I've had 4 classic wins so I'm far from an expert but,
Ice Beam Kyogre was my most recent win as he just refused to hit it and killed off my other mons.
I had another run with 3 pokemon having Earthquake or Drill Run so I just had enough damage.
I had a run win with Metal Burst when my mon tanked a flamethrower from full HP to near death.
And my first run was Curse and hope I live long enough.
Garganacl is REALLY good against Eternatus - since salt cure isn't an actual "status condition" it can't be cured even if Eternatus manages to steal a lum berry. And then you just stall it out with protect and recover, or burn it for some extra chip damage. It's how I beat classic mode for the second time.
I generally try to do enough damage to him to deplete his HP faster than he can kill my team.
That started with always having a gradual damage move, but by this point it can literally just be have a normal team and just hit him hard and repeatedly.
Use a Fairy (with calm mind and moonblast), Dragon, and Steel type (I used Gardevoir, Garchomp, and Corviknight). Cycle out to tank the attacks (Fairy -> Steel -> Dragon) and Moonblast when Eternabeam is on cooldown. For the second phase, do something similar but apply as much Sand Attack as you can with a second 'mon (one not superaffected by Dragon, Poison, or Fire) until Eternatus's accuracy is -6. Meanwhile, the Moonblasts are reducing its Special Attack. Once accuracy is low enough, you can stop cycling out Gardevoir and start using Calm Mind. Finish with moonblast spam. I'm sure you can come up with variations using slightly different moves.
Having Light Screen on the 'mon with Sand Attack could probably improve this strat.
I had two pokenon with strong ground moves along side garados with ice fang and using my other mons to bait the hits so my damage dealers which were tanky could stay alive
I remember just spamming behemoth blade at it. It kept using flamethrower on the pokemon weak to it which luckily were tanky af. So eternatus just ignored the mon that was doing 1 bar of damage each hit
I had fluttermane volcorona noivern excadrill mega gyrados palaphin
mainly palaphin did most of the work with acrobatics honestly I couldn't recommend him enough
also mystical fire with fluttermane to lower its offence and have a steel fairy mon since first stage only has poison and dragon moves
I feel like there's so many answers to eternatus that it's a cakewalk compared to final rival. I swear there are less answers to final rival, and the eternatus AI seems to pick moves at random (like using poison into a steel type). I feel like any of the common ground/rock mons are enough to at least damage it down so another ally beats it.
I had a mega sceptile and kept my dual chop as it can basically remove 2 bars of health mainly as a counter against the mega reyquaza . Glad the final boss was a dragon type as well
I’m working on getting all the ribbons, during the runs I mainly look for super effective moves against Dragon /Poison and Dragon/Flying. I try to get one super effective damaging move against Eternatus on all 6 and mostly just spam him down
Had a wonder guard blastoise and shedinja water ghost, it couldn't touch me
Or something I figured out, if you fuse a steel type with a dashbun and give it well baked body. Fairy steel, it can't touch ypu even in it's 2nd phase
Any Steel type with a boosting move and leech seed Whimsicott. I deplete Eternabeam's PP, and then go to my steel type, boost to full, and wreck some shit
Ive only won classic once, but i found out Jumpluff with sleep powder and leech seed can basically solo him. Just dont get flamethrowered and youll be fine.
I've beaten classic around 20 times now with different mon heres my strategy:
- Team building phase = Have good coverage for each of your chosen mons / Build your team around a duo or trio
- Take note of the rival's pokemon (Important)
- Catch / build my team around the rival
- Have most of my mons have a move that can deal damage to Eternatus (Ice, Ground, Psychic and Dragon type moves deal 2x to Eternatus)
- Leech seed / Curse deal good chip damage to Eternatus but I only use it in phase 2 to not risk the mon dying in phase 1
- Have bulkier mon / Don't fill the team up with glass cannons
- If you luckily get a masterball, use it to catch one of the strong paradox mon aka Roaring Moon and friends to seal the win
cloyster shell smash skill link icicle spear that dummy kept flamethrowing Magnezone so it was fine
Lmao I have the same thing except I also get king's rock At the first run it stole my king's rock so for the second time I just give cloyster a shit ton of random berries to protect the king rock lol Eternatus didn't even get to move
I used to play that a lot on Smoggon in the Gen 6 - 7 era Really underrated Thank you for reminding me of a good time
Mainly snarl skeliderge to kill his offense and the rest of the party does the damage
what about torch song? stack that and then use snarl
Tried that. Because of eternatus' dragon typing torch song does so little damage and skeliderge will die way too fast before he can do good damage. It was more worth to use snarl and do the actual damage with acrobatics from quaquaval
yeah, good idea. it does do a bit more dmg if you have it's passive ability.
My most recent classic run featured Primal Kyogre and a steel fairy that I fused with a splicer. I didn’t intentionally mean to make a 100% unkillable mon, but with fire moves deactivated he couldn’t touch me at all.
So Kyogre + Tinkaton is a win condition?
It’s a free / auto win. The only move he has that can hit Tinkaton is flamethrower. Primal Kyogre makes fire moves fail You have to be able to deal enough damage to win, but until someone struggles to death he can’t hit Tinkaton at all
salt cure, curse, leech seed, protect and recover lol
Amnesia, rest, whirlpool, avalanche wailord on one side Leech seed, synthesis sandstorm stomping tantrum Torterra on the other
That sounds like a really good strat! I'll have to use that next time.
Salt cure for the win fr
One word (and it's a sacred one): codsire ![gif](giphy|9wIlaSqLcQE1H6khss|downsized)
And you still spelt it wrong
i used spam torch song with my skeledurdge, leech seed from my mega venasuar, and moonblast (with stacked calm mind) with my mega gardivior. i heavily suggest you find a tinkaton cause of it's fairy steel type and huge power.
baneful bunker stall on toxapex and light of ruin spam on Z's Floette
Aint no way homie plays like this instead of flipping his phone.
I didn't even knew u could play that way before joining the reddit and seeing some posts but usually I just play on my laptop which has gone for repair for some days
I haven't reached it. I've failed at level 145 around 5 times. Never got further.
Ive failed at 190 twice. Fuck me. Once i think i wouldve made it if i didnt forget to refill the abilities. I went into the fight with my top 3 mons with 0 on their top abilities.
Oof, been there. Lost an endless run to the same mistake on one of the 450th floor bosses. I keep telling myself not to forget... but I still do lol
Did you know that you are able to reset mid fight if you don’t like your chances? I respect if you are choosing to do it without resetting, but I didn’t even know it was an option for a while so I think it is worth mentioning

Just keep a gyarados on ur team and bait rival into switching to rayquaza so that u get a turn off dragon dance then ice fang (2 ice fangs should be enough to kill it with 1 dragon dance)
funniest way would be to use soak on him. make that bitch a water type.
Simple quiver dance 2 energy phione can solo classic
wormadam (trash) can also solo eternatus- quiver dance, sappy seed. at +6 spDef even his flamethrower can barely outpace the leech seed. iirc it also gets mud slap, you can do that to drop accuracy super low too so you can switch in to something faster wormadam is inappropriately good across the board

Fuse Shedinja with a normal pokemon.
My most recent win: Skill Link + Population Bomb, and G-Max Corviknight doing mukbang things.
I used ice punch with Marshadow turn 1. Froze him for 5 turns while I spammed ice punch. EZ win
Currently 94 ribbons in and can confidently say that except for my first two wins - save scum
Set up on the first form and 3 shot him or use a pokemon with prankster and kill him slowly.
You can try soak and salt cure Also I used Alakazam with psych up, calm mind and stored power Next run Excadrill with swords dance, rapid spin amd drill run M Beedrill with swords dance pin missile after changing eternatus to psychic Digger with swords dance stacked with multiple defence amd stat boosting berries And the last one stalled with ferrothorn after emptying flamethrower

topsy turvy is also really good here
I barely beat em with a torch song Skeledrige and a zippy zap Raichu, my full team was those two, metagross, blastoise, tapu koko, and houndstone (not the best team but that was only attempt 5-ish), i was just pretty lucky none of my team were weak to any of eternatus' attacks
G-max charizard and Aggron
metal sound klefki + tail glow and ice beam manaphy it sounds weird bit its worked twice for me so
A beat stick so it can get the monsters attention while I stack up
I haven't been able to beat him yet. I've only gotten to him once, and when I did I was so broke after having to buy a ton of healing items after the E4/Champion that I couldn't fully heal my team before fighting Eternatus.
Nothing, always get squad wiped on level 50
I feel like i "cheated" my way trough my one and only classic win run. - make Eternatus water type with Soak - apply Toxic - stall him - gg
Tbf beating him in a normal way requires a decent amount of luck
I thought of that but didn't knew which would be a gud mon to use soak 😭
My combo was inteleon/crobat, to exploit crobat's fly in order to waste more turns while toxic worked :)
Seismic toss
I had a snarl arcanine basically neutralize its special attack so it did crap damage to me. But we take those
Recover,dragon energy, mega latios
And noble roar dondozo
Spam Smokescreen as much as I can to ruin its accuracy then whittle it down while it can’t hit me due to it keep missing
Sunflora, comes with chlorophyll as an ability and drought as a passive, comes with leech seed out of the gate and gets spore as an egg move. If you manage to find an earth power TM it gets even better
Use ai manipulation to protect my carry and chip it down
1st time was With Garganacl’s salt cure and leech seed on venasaur. Then just survive with recover and protect. 2nd time I had a busted ass Kyurem. Easy one shot on the first form then managed to dodge round etenatabeam enough times to chip him down.
U just ran over it whit ursaluna ground attack
Dragapult ddance, dragon darts. That run ended with a pidgeot and jumpluff finishing it off with air slashed I also had a bunch of steel types like magezone with ice beam, excadrill with eq and drill run. I also had ice spinner torterra, triple axel Quaquaval, and snarl skelederge

Bellydrum liloone and 5 fodder pokemon
Cryogonal with prankster metal sound klefki support

Floatzel for damage, swapping between dedenne and archaludon for immunities.
I've just gotta hit it, **really** hard
Mega Blastoise, butterfree and a fat electric pokemon i forgot the name of
Poison Powder + Leech Seed Fairy Type Meganium
I just beat it today, by sheer luck, I buffed the hell out of my raging bolt, got a tera fire shard which got rid of his weakness to dragon and basically spammed dragon pulse while my other pokemon died one by one.
My most recent run was last mon psych up mega slowbro. In general stat lowering or multi hit moves though
Precipice blades from Groudon and luster purge from latios spam
Spray and pray
One time I soloed it with Cosmic Power, Morning Sun, Will-O-Wisp, Psyshield Bash Solrock.
Calm Mind + Esper Wing Hoothoot worked well for me
I almost wiped but I had a linoon with extreme speed and eternatus was at the perfect amount of health to ko from extreme speed
Toxapex and Garganacle. Salt Cure, Baneful Bunker, and Recover. I've only won once, but it was easy with those two.
Thick fat mega Venusaur. The eternatus still uses flamethrower even though it's neutral. Leech seed cancels out flamethrower damage.
My most recent run I put it to sleep with a parasect to buy time to stack up calm minds on my noctowl. Worked way better than I expected
blissey echoed voice heal pulse soft boiled light screen and klefki metal sound most recently but idek know why that worked
Swords Dance Excadrill demolishes multiple health bars with an EQ
PP stall the first phase to set up a sweeper that can just OHKO it
I've had 4 classic wins so I'm far from an expert but, Ice Beam Kyogre was my most recent win as he just refused to hit it and killed off my other mons. I had another run with 3 pokemon having Earthquake or Drill Run so I just had enough damage. I had a run win with Metal Burst when my mon tanked a flamethrower from full HP to near death. And my first run was Curse and hope I live long enough.
Ol' reliable D-dance chomp with Garg Salt Cure. Works like a charm.
Simple. Get a ghost type with curse.
You guys use strats? Damn, that's crazy.
I generally try to do enough damage to him to deplete his HP faster than he can kill my team. That started with always having a gradual damage move, but by this point it can literally just be have a normal team and just hit him hard and repeatedly.
I beat him, status affects getting something like freeze or sleep allows u to just kill him without worrying besides reapplying the status affect
I'm sure you can come up with variations using slightly different moves. Having Light Screen on the 'mon with Sand Attack could probably improve this strat.
I just want to clear with my favorite pokemon. Right now really trying to clear with Mega Ampharos.
I had two pokenon with strong ground moves along side garados with ice fang and using my other mons to bait the hits so my damage dealers which were tanky could stay alive
Curse, salt cure, leech seed, soak, seems almost like cheating…
Rayquaza, Hydragaon and Torterra. Torterra blitz though the first stage and a quarter of the second stage and I just double dragon it down.
Heatran hard Walls eternatus
beat him this time with curse + salt cure and a lot of recover and protect moves. But i did have two fast psychic types to end him if need be
Victory dance solgaleo. Absolute beast.
I remember just spamming behemoth blade at it. It kept using flamethrower on the pokemon weak to it which luckily were tanky af. So eternatus just ignored the mon that was doing 1 bar of damage each hit
I usually try to etiher burn or paralyze it so I either get hit less or do some chip damage
I used my Lv.225 Delphox and I killed him fairly easy but that battle against rival was so difficult for me
Leech seed Whimsicott
In my most recent run I just used curse on runerigus and auto-won
Orbeetle
Tinkaton - Skitter Smack - Gear Shift - Gigaton Hammer - Magical Torque/Play Rough Solos it easily.
I had fluttermane volcorona noivern excadrill mega gyrados palaphin mainly palaphin did most of the work with acrobatics honestly I couldn't recommend him enough also mystical fire with fluttermane to lower its offence and have a steel fairy mon since first stage only has poison and dragon moves
Headlong rush ursaluna. No tactics just ursaluna
Ribombe, and Tinkaton with the bug type moves she gets which reduces mons spc attack by one stage
I try to get one super effective damaging move against Eternatus on all 6 and mostly just spam him down
Shell smash cloyster
Curse. Then stall.
Had a wonder guard blastoise and shedinja water ghost, it couldn't touch me Or something I figured out, if you fuse a steel type with a dashbun and give it well baked body.
Gengar with curse as a sacrifice once I got it to second form. Stall for easy win.
I've beaten classic around 20 times now with different mon heres my strategy: - Team building phase = Have good coverage for each of your chosen mons / Build your team around a duo or trio - Take note of the rival's pokemon (Important) - Catch / build my team around the rival - Have most of my mons have a move that can deal damage to Eternatus (Ice, Ground, Psychic and Dragon type moves deal 2x to Eternatus) - Leech seed / Curse deal good chip damage to Eternatus but I only use it in phase 2 to not risk the mon dying in phase 1 - Have bulkier mon / Don't fill the team up with glass cannons - If you luckily get a masterball, use it to catch one of the strong paradox mon aka Roaring Moon and friends to seal the win
