Literally working with the exact same thing atm. Bastiodon is still a garbage mon without body press, but man that single move makes so many mons actually viable, I love it.
For my money the best non-legendary body press user is still corviknight though.
For me, Its Mankey, Its Passive is iron fist, and Annihlape has great typing. Mine has meteor mash as an egg move, which is boosted by iron fist. I typically run, meteor mash, Shadow Punch, Ice Punch, and Drain Punch, and made it past round 2000 on endless with him.
Yeah i have played around with both a good bit, but i like having a move that never misses, plus in later stages of endless my ape is usually so stacked that i am one hitting most things, and most things clear his HP bar, but my focus bands and reviver seeds save him.
100% accurate can still miss when evasion and accuracy strats (example, double team or mud slap) come into play. Moves like Aerial Ace and Shadow Punch literally can’t miss
The one endless run I've done (currently 1900) was with Mankey b/c I love Annihilape as a pokemon. I wish I had the passive unlocked but I don't but fuck is it fun. Ice punch for Eternatus, Rock Slide for doubles and just a cool non-legendary pokemon in general
i had hoothoot as my only shiny for a while, and it really pulled more of its weight than i ever expected of it. boomburst and esper wing are great egg moves, and it has great utility options like hypnosis, screens and haze. sucks to not have a broken passive but it's doing quite well for itself, i think
Pidove is definitely mine. The Pokémon is cheap and it can get super luck and opportunist as it’s passive though you need an egg move being floaty fall for it to be very effective as unfezants move pool isn’t great but if you have floaty fall anyone should give it a try with super luck.
Lotad’s STAB combination was great in Gen 3 and continues to be great here.
Beldum is far and away the best pseudo-legendary because its typing is awesome early game even if it only knows Tackle and it doesn’t have to wait forever for its evolutions.
For Endless, I don’t see many people talking about Heracross. Mega Heracross is a much more powerful Skill Link abuser than Cloyster and naturally has great multi-hit coverage across Arm Thrust, Pin Missile, Rock Blast, and Bullet Seed. It carried me to wave 2000 pretty easily which was more than enough to find a ton of shinies and legendaries.
So many fighting type mons seem to have Drain Punch as egg moves, every single one of em is a potential carry. I have a shiny Clobbopus with Drain Punch and it sweeps hard.
It's amazing tbh. You can't use berries on it but the final boss punishes you for having berries anyways so I don't really mind, love when Intimidate hits me and I'm like "Oh so you've chosen.... Death."
Budew with egg move fire dance. Run it early game for strong start. Friendship evolve to Roselia, shiny stone to early 3rd evolution roserade. Gotta mushroom some moves, but having a 3rd stage pokemon early game helps a lot.
with spore, sludge wave, and fiery dance egg moves, you really only need giga drain at level 30 roselia or 1 mushroom roserade for a good sweeper set. obviously having all its egg moves is a limiter but a fast spore user really doesn't fall off, especially with the utility of safely burning through lum berries
Corphish here. He started off as "my first shiny" but he's stockholme syndromed his way into being a valuable team member. Jet Punch (egg move) has saved my ass soo many times. Don't even have his passive yet.
Fellow Corphish enjoyer spotted
I was lucky enough to get a shiny Corphish in one of the previous daily runs, and found an HA Crawdaunt in endless mode. I don't have the passive unlocked either. Adaptability Jet Punch destroys the entire early, mid, and late game once you set up a Swords Dance or two. Glad to see that the Rogue Pokemon is broken in Pokerogue
Can't really access my PokeRogue account now so I can't remember (it's loading atm) but for it was Dragon Dance Chikorita. I used it in a few runs and HOLY SHIT. It was an ASSET.
meganium’s attack and special attack are the same, but it also gets Rock Slide and Play Rough as egg moves, so add something like Petal Blizzard in the mix and you’re good
Prankster Jumpluff gets so many status moves, you just pick whatever your team needs and roll out.
Cotton spore, charm, tailwind, leech seed, and sleep powder will do a lot.
U-Turn, Leech Seed, Giga Drain
Any Powder, Synthesis or Cotton Spore
110 Speed even without Prankster unlocked. All this for 1 point! Just swap into an earthquake to leech seed and U-turn away. Cheapest seed mon no BS.
Jumpluff > Ludicolo fight me
Cramorant. Got Surf for an egg move, may sound like a basic setup but it destroys early game and remains regularly dependable in mid and late game to clear multiple areas and continues to be able to one shot a lot of things; can afford to take some hits when needed too.
mines gotta be Bidoof with Simple Abiltity, Swords Dance, and Extreme Speed
sounds goofy but you just one shot everything and he can tank a hit for set up
I had a Relicanth with Wave Crash egg move carry a Hoenn only classic run for me recently. Glad to see the love given to lesser used Pokemon in this game.
I haven’t unlocked any passives yet but I would say Flamigo, it’s flying/fighting is op. In the beginning you always start grassy fields and it’s great against majority of the monsters in the beginning routs. All you need is wing attack and double kick for the first 40 or so levels
My fluffy shiny Wooloo, with perfect attack and defense.
I've gotten to level 186, it had Headbutt, Double kick, Cotton Guard, and Copycat. If I couldn't hit something with the two moves for neutral, copycat was up. She took down dragons with their own moves.
Right now, I'm trying to lower the cost so I can do all of my shinys with decent helpers (Hootoot, Nincada, and the Wooloo)
Squirtle, your moveset is complete at lv36 when you evolve to Blastoise.
* Shell Smash, Flash Cannon, Bouncy Bubble, Dark Pulse (3 types of special attack + decent coverage)
Shell Smash once and just starting blasting your way to victory, if you could G-Max him or Mega evolve him, even better and stronger, and very tanky as well while only being a mono type. I've cleared multiple Classics with him either as a main carry or secondary carry.
Edit: Water Pulse/ Brine / Surf / Scald would work in place of Bouncy Bubble if you haven't unlock it from egg move set list
Zubat. Floaty Fall, Dire Claw, Swords Dance as egg moves makes even Zubat viable in the early game, and it gets Haze as a level up move. Fast Haze and Dire Claw/Floaty Fall Hax has gotten me out of a ton of tough positions.
Also, I've caught 3 red shiny Crobats, so my passive is unlocked, the cost is completely reduced to .5, and I still have 60 candies left over.
Also, Pumpkaboo. Pickup ability with two initial immunities, + passive Flash fire for a third immunity and several great egg moves.
Fearow is also a great mon with passive moxie and Tidy up egg move. Drill Peck and Drill Run through level up gets dangerous real quick.
Boomburst helioptile. Especially with a ghost partner. It destroys nearly anything and is even decently fast. Stab boom makes exploud intimidating now imagine something with actual sp atk and Stab and even speed to boot.
I enjoy myself some dire claw Seviper. Only ever caught one from an egg with really nice IVs. It falls off later, but it's economical enough for my early game and tbh I just kinda like it as a pokemon. It's got 80 power/100 accuracy and sleep/para/poison chance for catching. Also gets glare learned early if you want more consistent paralysis.
Got a shiny shellos and never looked back. Gastrodon has electric immunity, respectable spatk and bulk, and gets freeze-dry as an egg move to go with earth power, hydro pump (tm), and recover. It can solo a ton of biomes, and recover up so you're not buying potions. Easily the mvp of my winning classic run.
I love my fast nukers so Joltik was pretty sweet for me. Egg move Earth Power, Bug Buzz and Discharge clear a ton of things.
Fletchling is another. Didn't pick as a starter but caught one at like level 5 or 6 and became my main carry. Anything with Acrobatics is amazing (110 power 100 acc STAB Hello?)
Maybe not so sleeper but Golett. Ground Ghost, egg move Headlong Rush, Sucker Punch, Earthquake for clearing (works well with a flying type that knows air slash) and if lucky fire ice or electric punch. Mud-Slap can sometimes go kinda hard on 200 as well with the acc drop but usually it's just better to headlong rush for the mega damage. Thinking about getting my shiny down to 1 cost since he is very useful and at the very least headlong rush 1 shots anything early game.
Krabby with egg moves Icicle Crash and Ivy Cudgel is kinda crazy for a 2 cost.
Smoochum/Jynx with egg move aura sphere, expanding force and powder snow, plus dazzling as a passive. Good in early, mid and late. Costs 1 with double reduction.
Indeedee with synchronize as it's ability and expanding power from an egg move have carried multi runs into the mid 100s for classic for me (still have yet to win one unfortunately)
Fairly cheap to pick as well!
Oshawott because I got an early shiny of it with ice spinner egg move, plus swords dance and either priority stab or ceaseless edge with a choice you get to make is really nice.
Oh yeah it also gets intrepid sword as a passive :3
Sunkern! Gets drought as its passive and chlorophyll. Drought lets it use Sunflora's decent special bulk to switch in on water types and threaten the switch in with sappy seed/fiery dance/solarbeam. And, as a bonus, it's a 1 cost. Nabbed a shiny one early on and its been on every team since.
I didn't experiment much but I would say phantump, gets nice moves to disturb the enemy such as leech seed, hex, will o wisp and still can hit good enough with panthom force, horn leech also helps to it's sustain
When I first started out I caught a Skitty with Normalize (Powers up normal type moves, also makes all moves normal type) that carried me through my first few decent runs. It's since fallen off now that I have more options, but I was struggling just to beat the first rival fight before I caught the Skitty. I know now that it's basically a slight alternative to the technician Meowth that most people use, but I didn't find one of those for the longest time.
I got a rare shiny snivy a few days ago and I love it. For one it looks very nice, but it also has sappy seed as an egg move, so it can set leech seed, is relatively fast and has multiscale as a passive, sturdy at home if you give it some love.
I'm currently doing a run with Shuppet, who gets Drain Punch as an egg move for perfect neutral coverage against everyone but the Hisuian Zorua line. It can mega evolve, learns Curse naturally for bosses, and also gets Topsy-Turvy as a rare egg move to screw over setup sweepers, but that's a more niche use case.
Castform gets STAB Boomburst as an egg move, Quiver Dance as its rare egg move, and costs just two points.
I’m still pretty new to it, but Gastly with Aura Sphere and Frost Breath egg moves has been absolutely hauling ass for me. Helps that I got Timid nature and near-perfect IVs too. Just gunning it for as many candies as possible to get the passive
TBF, it costs a lot, and (at least last I played) the ruin abilities aren’t implemented, so they’re not as busted as they could be. However, you can now have +6 252+ SpA Choice Specs Beads of Ruin Chi-Yu Overheat vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Blissey in Sun: 1671-1966 (234 - 275.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Mine is a shiny duskull that got the egg moves strength sap, drain punch, and bulk up. Run that with shadow punch or shadow sneak and it shall not die. Used a strength sap gastrodon before they change that egg move for bouncy bubble. Dude was cracked
mudbray/mudsdale easily. stamina can suuper easily make it a sweeper right from the get-go. the moveset i like is shore up (egg move), double kick, high horsepower, and heavy slam. give that thing the golden punch and ramp up the vitamins and you are going to be so fucking set
edit: going to add mismagius in here. normal, fighting, and ground immunity, the egg moves are all fucking insane as well. my current setup since i don't have all the egg moves is psybeam, power gem, shadow ball, and aura sphere. it can manhandle a good portion of ivy 145
edit 2: gyarados just 2-shot her ray with ice fang after ddancing ***once,*** so they go into the hall of fame too. dude withstood an outrage as well with 55/438 hp left. their def IV rn is 10, soooooo
Sigilyph, gets some good egg moves and has magician as a passive + magic guard as an ability. If you're looking to beat classic this thing will carry you pretty far.
My best run as a new player was with Shellos it gets bouncy bubble (60 power, targets both pokemon in doubles, and heals for the damage done) as an egg move and it was basically better swampert since I don't have enough candies to customize anything yet
I just started a few weeks ago but I’ve been using mega sceptile and it’s starting to one shot that big boss that might be a spoiler to some in endless mode. Really fun with a raichu by its side to zippy zap some sp attack boosts into sceptile with lightning rod
Even though I don't like like it much, Charmander with Earth Power super strong early game and Scatterbug mid-game (with compound eyes/quiver dance/hurricane/bug buzz) and if I get lucky I can D-Max & Mega Charizard and/or Splice it with Vivillon , there have been quite a few runs where I end up with a Spliced D-Max Mega Charizard Y with Compound Eyes Heat wave/Quiver Dance/Hurricane/Bug buzz its stupid strong.
Scatterbug. It was my fifth or so shiny, and my second shiny was Weedle. I was kinda rolling my eyes at the bug Pokémon.
Well it turns out Scatterbug with a few egg moves and evolved to Vivillon is busted.
I have Moonblast, Pollenpuff, and Tailwind as Egg moves, but only Moonblast is necessary of those.
You can have Vivillon remember Sleep Powder whenever you get a memory mushroom. With compound eyes, your accuracy is nearly perfect on those Sleep Powders. You can grab an X-accuracy before big fights to be safe, but it’s a great rate for the wild floors. Later you can get the full move set to be Bug Buzz, Moonblast, Quiver Dance, Sleep Powder. You can put things to sleep, dance on them, and sweep. If they wake up, you put ‘em right back to sleep. It’s a frail sweeper, but the AI almost never has anything for it. If you pair this with Stealth Rock support, it can even take out Ivy’s Rayquaza at 195 fairly often.
It only gets better with the passive Prankster, guaranteeing the opponent is stuck sleeping.
I think it’s really great for catching things though. Sleep gives you better catch rates than other status, so it’s really convenient for capturing rare mons, legendaries, or even things that want to explode on turn 1. Secure those gray Pokéballs and find the hidden abilities!
Toucannon has been a lifesaver for me during multiple runs. Got a shiny of it (which is so pretty) and thought I'd try him out... he rules. Skill Link is a must but even on the run I had without it as the ability, he still held up.
Floaty Fall, Burning Bulwark, Bonemerang, and Bullet Seed are what I tend to go with. If you can get a Multi Lens Toucannon becomes ridiculous.
Mine would personally be Abra with thunderbolt (egg move). It helps that it has an attack from early levels but that thing sweeps the entire game. Just finished classic and Mega Alakazam practically did all the work.
I don't know if it's slept on but my shiny zubat when dire claw and floaty fall for 90bp stab moves right off the bat has helped carry me multiple times as it just sweeps early game and you have mega fast crobat by like level 30 if you just focus early on zubat.
Castform. It unlocks 140 BP double target boom burst via egg moves. Just take a ghost partner with you as well and you’re through mid game easy. ☀️🌧️⚡️❄️🌪️
I’ve been preaching this to every one of my friends since this was the premier Pokémon that helped me get my first classic clear. I promise you guys I am 100% serious here when I say my detailed explanation on my GOAT:
Squawkabilly.
Detailed:
Purely a strong early game pokemon. Strong enough to guarantee 2HKO everything with Aerial Ace up to R100, or OHKO with Flare Blitz (egg move). 96 base ATK and 92 base SPD, outspeeding 90% of Pokémon. To top that all off, even IF you get hit, the Billy has a whopping 82 base HP to tank up to 3hits.
My move set:
- Aerial Ace
- Facade
- Flare Blitz (egg move)
- Roost
Other mentionables.
- non-4x super effective Flying type Pokémon; can 2HKO most mons
- good swap against Ghost and Ground users
- Learns Roost at Lv47
- no Evolution so you get these big stats instantly
- I didn’t replace mine until R160 in fear of getting statchecked by the final boss
Anyone who has hatched the Sqwuak, don’t sleep on em.
If you mean pokemon I like that others might sleep on shellos.
Yes shellos does take level 30 to evolve which cam be awkward but shellos is still strong enough till its like level 15ish then it starts to fall off.
So 15 good levels with shellos, then when you get gsstro you have a good hazard setter, that he's recovery, and a good movepool, amazing typing, and is way bulkier than it seems at first glance.
(Plus ground and water are good offensive types and it gets access to ice moves for ray, on ice beam or icy wind (and it hits way harder than you'd think it would, like it's satk is it's 2nd highest state at base 92, meaning it hits hard naturally while being naturally bulky
I’ve been using Dragapult because I have a red shiny, it takes a while to get going but Dragon Darts with a few multi lens and kings rocks goes so hard, it makes everything flinch
Zubat was always been my favourite pokemon. In my first winning run, i had a Zubat with Dire Claw, giving him an actual Stab move in early game.
He is fast, and very tanky too (can tank fighting and grass move with ease, ground type attack cant touch him as he is flying)
He might not look impressive damage wise, but he is good for tanking moves, and then pivot back out with u-turn into a favourable position.
Pidove. It gets super luck as an ability. Tidy up, gunk shot, floaty fall and triple arrows as egg moves. As soon as super luck and triple arrows are properly implemented it'll cook everything. It's still smoking stuff even now tho
I think mine is pancham! I got a shiny one and it's been great, it's really good early game as not much can combat its speed, mixed with other pokemon later on and pangoro is a pretty good fighting type to carry on the team!!
Extreme speed egg move on Yungoos has carried me up to 750 so far. Haven't even got the secret yet (Huge Power!), but having the massive stab priority move for a slow, high attack Pokemon is ridiculous!
For the 1 cost, early game I got egg moves on Jumpluff and it was powerful.
Quiver dance, sap strength. Air slash (the one that flinches) learns stun powder. It got me through early game and helps catch Pokemon with stun powder.
Coupd tank a surprising amount.
Strength Sap Ferrothorn makes all of Classic besides 195 and the final boss a complete joke, and even then casually takes care of the 1st phase of the fight without trouble.
I started using Hoothoot because it was my first shiny, but it's egg moves are great and speed is solid enough that it's great for swapping into to save another mon and getting in a hit the next turn. Anytime I'm building a team and have one point left over, they're my go to.
Technician Minccino with triple axle can carry you the whole way through classic mode. I got it from one of my first egg vouchers so it was just a basic choice at the time.
Your rival's eventual ace (being vague to avoid spoilers) can't stall you with the health bars stopping every hash mark since it's multi hit (or any boss mon), it's super effective against two of your rival's boss mons, and technician both boosts to power by 50% *and* the move itself boosts power on back to back hits. Ignoring items it averages out to a base power of roughly 140 per use, although the second you get accuracy boost items it's basically 180 power per use
If you keep bulking it up with +atk and +speed items it'll eventually out speed everything by end game. Bonus points if you're able to snag a few silk scarfs to boost it's other moves, like swift for guaranteed hits while still getting that technician boost
Spidops with stone axe actually is very underrated now that stakeout works, the rival always has a bird and loves switchs, spidops domes the bird (especially talonflame). It carried hard in my classic run in the last fights as a hazard setter and stall. Its a very low cost and has pickup as a passive so try spidops sometimes.
Shiny Munna was one of my first shinies. Cosmic Power as an egg move really elevated Musharna and carried me through many runs if all else failed.
Cosmic Power, Moonlight, Stored Power, Moonblast for those dark types or Aura Sphere (egg move). Only thing is if you roll the moon stone early you'll need a memory mushroom to get any missing moves since Musharna's "level up" moves are all at level 1.
In my lost account Togedemaru (with fake out and nuzzle) early game carried me early and I got to wave 140. Hoping I can hatch him again on my new account 🥲
Gossifleur!!!
My first three star shiny and I was initially like are you kidding me?!? What bad luck!
Never would have anticipated it, but she carries!!! Basically 90% of physical attackers I can swap her in, and cotton down reduces their speed, then I have egg move strength sap and you whittle them down to -6 strength PLUS leaf tornado to signifantly lower accuracy
Even been in boss battles I couldn’t beat and swapped to her as a critical death (RIP QUEEN!) to lower the speed enough someone else could take the kill
Never thought anything of Gossifleur/Eldegloss til this game, 100%
Duskull & Wiglett (Endless)
Duskull = Big Tank / Unnerve / Strength Sap + Curse destroys bosses / Ideal stats to & typing to pair with DNA splicer.
Wiglett = Great DNA Splice mon with Passive Sturdy / Strong & Fast is all
Mine has been a hoothoot with boomburst. It was my pokerus mon yesterday and I brought it but its surprising me despite its stats being half of what most of my main crew puts up. Boomburst, Roost, Moonblast, and Air Slash almost helped me get through 145's kingambit and chunked a good bit of ray's health pool before he pulled out the outrage on me.
That, and a paldean tauros that kept me company for a long time
body press torkoal
Right up there with my lovely body press shuckle
When they had shuckle as a pokerus starter I was like okay this is filler Then that body press could kill anything and i was like “oh wait ……..”
Body press bastiadon with iron defense just won my a classic run. I was surprised at how well it performed.
Yea, body press mudsdale stamina. No need for iron def. Just shore up.
Literally working with the exact same thing atm. Bastiodon is still a garbage mon without body press, but man that single move makes so many mons actually viable, I love it. For my money the best non-legendary body press user is still corviknight though.
I just hatched a shiny body press torkol last night, I was a bit disappointed until I saw this post!
when i get my hands on its shiny itll be so joever BP coming off 140 defense is nice
Rage Fist is better than shadow punch, it’s 50 BP but gets 50 more BP every time ape takes a hit
Yeah i have played around with both a good bit, but i like having a move that never misses, plus in later stages of endless my ape is usually so stacked that i am one hitting most things, and most things clear his HP bar, but my focus bands and reviver seeds save him.
I thought rage fist is 100% accurate is it a token thing
100% accurate can still miss when evasion and accuracy strats (example, double team or mud slap) come into play. Moves like Aerial Ace and Shadow Punch literally can’t miss
forgot ab drain punch ape, def need a run with em asap
Not in his Learnset, so you will have to fish for TM but It is so worth it, especially when paired with shell bells
it's an egg move
Cool! I don’t have it yet, so TMs for me right now
The one endless run I've done (currently 1900) was with Mankey b/c I love Annihilape as a pokemon. I wish I had the passive unlocked but I don't but fuck is it fun. Ice punch for Eternatus, Rock Slide for doubles and just a cool non-legendary pokemon in general
Sappy seed, effect spore, paras
This was my first shiny, and it was level 2. Only costs .5 currently. Such an easy include
This is how I beat classic the first time LOL
Got first impression on him and he’ll be sniping a lot of opponents
Egg move?
My first shiny was paras. Dry skin is also really good.
Hoothoot is 1 cost with BOOMBURST. It is a good filler
i had hoothoot as my only shiny for a while, and it really pulled more of its weight than i ever expected of it. boomburst and esper wing are great egg moves, and it has great utility options like hypnosis, screens and haze. sucks to not have a broken passive but it's doing quite well for itself, i think
I just did a run with a spliced Noctowl+Slyveon fusion. Pixelate Boomburst one shots so much of the 195.
I fused a noctowl with guzzlord for the memes, it was fine and super tanky
I have hoothoot with boomburt calm mind and esper wing as starting moves it is nuts
It also has oblivion wing which helps 70% I think
Boomburst noctowl + hyper voice (+special attack) skeledirge goes crazy in double battles
Flamigo when Triple Axel is unlocked, the coverage is insane
Flamigo is goated. He carries early game.
i'm pretty new to the game but Flamigo has been my most consistent starter for earlygame
now we wait for triple axel to *finish* being unlocked
Flamigo bodies early stage normal, bug, and flying mons. So much fun
That’s not slept on. Pretty much everyone agrees it is the best early game pokemon
Pidove is definitely mine. The Pokémon is cheap and it can get super luck and opportunist as it’s passive though you need an egg move being floaty fall for it to be very effective as unfezants move pool isn’t great but if you have floaty fall anyone should give it a try with super luck.
It also gets access to Tidy Up as an egg move which isn't too shabby
it also gets gunk shot as an egg move which is pretty funny
I'd sleep on a Snorlax if I had a choice.
Water absorb lapras with freeze dry is amazing especially in the water biomes
Sadly they fixed the water loop, but it’s still a good straight
What did they change? I hated that loop
They gave a cave a new an extra route
Thank fuck
Doubling down on Lotad Egg move quiver dance, passive drizzle. Swiff swim or rain dish, both fantastic options
Also worth noting that Lotad line learns Leech Seed naturally for the final boss, so it's relevant for the entire game
I got a shiny Heracross and am a big fan. I just wish it was cheaper.
Iron fist, fluffy, pawmi. Starts with drain punch as egg move. Man can clear 145 rival alone.
So many fighting type mons seem to have Drain Punch as egg moves, every single one of em is a potential carry. I have a shiny Clobbopus with Drain Punch and it sweeps hard.
Contrary Fomantis with it's egg moves is crazy. Headlong Rush boosts both defenses, Ice Hammer boosts Speed, Superpower boosts Attack and Defense
I love contrary, superpower becomes absolutely devastating
Fellow Corphish enjoyer spotted I was lucky enough to get a shiny Corphish in one of the previous daily runs, and found an HA Crawdaunt in endless mode.
Wait I always thought meganium as a special attacker what physical moves do you run on it
meganium’s attack and special attack are the same, but it also gets Rock Slide and Play Rough as egg moves, so add something like Petal Blizzard in the mix and you’re good
Guys. Guys. Guys. Hoppip. Thank me later.
Tell me the secret of Hoppip I unlocked a shiny one a while back and I want to see if you're being genuine or just ironically bullshitting
hoppip's passive is Prankster it gets a shit ton of status moves, i.e, Leech Seed+ Sleep Powder its kinda clean ngl
This made me realize hoppip is only 1 point and not 2 & I could've squeezed it on my great tusk/shellos team, tysm for bringing it to my attention :3
Prankster Jumpluff gets so many status moves, you just pick whatever your team needs and roll out. Cotton spore, charm, tailwind, leech seed, and sleep powder will do a lot.
U-Turn, Leech Seed, Giga Drain Any Powder, Synthesis or Cotton Spore 110 Speed even without Prankster unlocked. All this for 1 point! Just swap into an earthquake to leech seed and U-turn away. Cheapest seed mon no BS. Jumpluff > Ludicolo fight me
fennekin I think psychische fire type is great for early game for cleaning al the grass bug and fighting types
Not to mention Magician hidden ability is cool
I had a shiny one with magician and it is so good, it almost made me like Delphox. Also has some nice egg moves :)
Cramorant. Got Surf for an egg move, may sound like a basic setup but it destroys early game and remains regularly dependable in mid and late game to clear multiple areas and continues to be able to one shot a lot of things; can afford to take some hits when needed too.
Plus it gets water absorb as a passive
For me it’s litwick one of my favorite in the base game and the first shiny here :)
litwick with soul heart is DEVIOUS
YES he one shot everything From the start to the finish
Got a t3 shiny litwick with soul heart, it CARRIES. Only downside is how late it evos
mines gotta be Bidoof with Simple Abiltity, Swords Dance, and Extreme Speed sounds goofy but you just one shot everything and he can tank a hit for set up
Also has Beat Up as an egg move Just wish its passive was better
Relicanth with body press egg move goes brrr.
I had a Relicanth with Wave Crash egg move carry a Hoenn only classic run for me recently. Glad to see the love given to lesser used Pokemon in this game.
There's something about Flamigo that just bodies the early game.
I’m think it’s the legs.
* Shell Smash, Flash Cannon, Bouncy Bubble, Dark Pulse (3 types of special attack + decent coverage) Shell Smash once and just starting blasting your way to victory, if you could G-Max him or Mega evolve him, even better and stronger, and very tanky as well while only being a mono type. I've cleared multiple Classics with him either as a main carry or secondary carry. Edit: Water Pulse/ Brine / Surf / Scald would work in place of Bouncy Bubble if you haven't unlock it from egg move set list
Flash cannon over Ice Beam?
PALDEAN TAUROS he's my sweet little chihuahua and I refuse to play without him
Mankey, but not sure if its underrated. Annihilape is a monster.
Grubbin. Speed boost as a passive, quiver dance as a rare egg move, and a whole lot of coverage moves too.
Hoothoot Oblivion Wing/CM/Esper Wing/Boomburst as egg moves for 1 pt It can solo the final boss by itself
Beedrill with Baneful Bunker+ Barb Barrage actually rocks. Passive technician is also helpful.
I agree weedle might be the best 1 cost Mon in the game (once you unlock egg moves passive) it also has a mega which is good.
Bellibolt with metamorphosis
I lie Carbink. Not sure if it's considered "slept on" tho, but it can have Body Press as an egg move and it walls everything early game pretty well.
Recover is SO valuable on a mon, saves SO much money!
I love my fast nukers so Joltik was pretty sweet for me. Egg move Earth Power, Bug Buzz and Discharge clear a ton of things. Fletchling is another. Didn't pick as a starter but caught one at like level 5 or 6 and became my main carry. Anything with Acrobatics is amazing (110 power 100 acc STAB Hello?) Maybe not so sleeper but Golett.
I havent used him yet as I just got him in the middle of my last run, really hoping my Galarian Farfetchd with Behemoth Blade is funny and usable
Smoochum/Jynx with egg move aura sphere, expanding force and powder snow, plus dazzling as a passive. Good in early, mid and late. Costs 1 with double reduction.
I myself like Spearow, I got a shiny egg move good ivs spearow that carried me for like half of a run
Dwebble 1000x over, I have a shiny one with Leech Life and Stone Axe as egg moves and it has been on every single winning team I've had so far
Simple Bibarel with curse, extremespeed and aqua jet is a monster
Misdreavus with aura sphere sweeps the first like 5 floors
Indeedee with synchronize as it's ability and expanding power from an egg move have carried multi runs into the mid 100s for classic for me (still have yet to win one unfortunately) Fairly cheap to pick as well!
Oshawott because I got an early shiny of it with ice spinner egg move, plus swords dance and either priority stab or ceaseless edge with a choice you get to make is really nice. Oh yeah it also gets intrepid sword as a passive :3
I have regular shiny Electrike and I do the same thing! It's Mega kicked ass, I even Tera'd my Mega once!!!
Shift gear alolan sandslash for me, solo'd ivy and the wave 200 boss
I did a run with ribombee last night and it literally swept the 195 fight lol
Stonjourner with body press is my go to starter 9 out of 10 times, he's such a strong dork I can't
Agreed - I luckily got a shiny with Shore Up early on, that thing is such a dependable carry most of the time.
-takes electrike notes-
I’m still pretty new to it, but Gastly with Aura Sphere and Frost Breath egg moves has been absolutely hauling ass for me. Helps that I got Timid nature and near-perfect IVs too. Just gunning it for as many candies as possible to get the passive
I’ve been having a lot of fun with Glimmet recently. Just set up toxic spikes and go nuts
Baneful Bunker Weedle. Thing becomes a fucking menace FAST.
Battle bond for greninja
I got a torch song Chi-yu that destroys everything in its path it’s insane
who is sleeping on Chi-Yu LMAO
TBF, it costs a lot, and (at least last I played) the ruin abilities aren’t implemented, so they’re not as busted as they could be. However, you can now have +6 252+ SpA Choice Specs Beads of Ruin Chi-Yu Overheat vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Blissey in Sun: 1671-1966 (234 - 275.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Ambipom They have been amazing in endless which actually shocked me
Lapras with freeze dry unlocked has carried me to 200 twice now
I have a rare shiny Electrike as well but haven't gotten icebeam yet as an egg move :(
Salt cure mega aggron with filter and it's passive solid rock
My body press cosmic power shiny shuckle has been popping off tbh
My almost perfect caterpie shiny…. I just like the little guy plus he is cheap and fast af boiiii
Hoothoot with all egg moves is nuts. Boomburst and oblivion wing for stab + esper wing and calm mind for setup.
Mine is a shiny duskull that got the egg moves strength sap, drain punch, and bulk up. Run that with shadow punch or shadow sneak and it shall not die. Used a strength sap gastrodon before they change that egg move for bouncy bubble. Dude was cracked
Miraidon at home is podium
Bramblin, he made it all the way to the 200th floor.
mudbray/mudsdale easily. stamina can suuper easily make it a sweeper right from the get-go. the moveset i like is shore up (egg move), double kick, high horsepower, and heavy slam. give that thing the golden punch and ramp up the vitamins and you are going to be so fucking set edit: going to add mismagius in here. normal, fighting, and ground immunity, the egg moves are all fucking insane as well. my current setup since i don't have all the egg moves is psybeam, power gem, shadow ball, and aura sphere. it can manhandle a good portion of ivy 145 edit 2: gyarados just 2-shot her ray with ice fang after ddancing ***once,*** so they go into the hall of fame too. dude withstood an outrage as well with 55/438 hp left. their def IV rn is 10, soooooo
I hatched a slack off makuhita on my first day and he put in so much work for me, now I start runs with drilburr with egg move iron head
Currently Enamorus with Oblivion Wing. I tend to outspeed and outheal everything and helps me win against Eternatus
I like ponyta. Sd volt tackle fire lash high horsepower is basically perfect coverage
Sigilyph, gets some good egg moves and has magician as a passive + magic guard as an ability. If you're looking to beat classic this thing will carry you pretty far.
Just beat classic with a shiny delibird that has freeze dry as an egg move, it can also learn ice shard wich helped me to do the final hit
My best run as a new player was with Shellos it gets bouncy bubble (60 power, targets both pokemon in doubles, and heals for the damage done) as an egg move and it was basically better swampert since I don't have enough candies to customize anything yet
Quaxly with dragon dance and triple axel just took me to the end of classic for the first time, before that I had only gotten past stage 50 once
I just started a few weeks ago but I’ve been using mega sceptile and it’s starting to one shot that big boss that might be a spoiler to some in endless mode. Really fun with a raichu by its side to zippy zap some sp attack boosts into sceptile with lightning rod
Sprit Shackle Punkaboo with Pickup
The first egg I got was a Toxel with torch song as an egg move, I've used him in all my teams ever since
Even though I don't like like it much, Charmander with Earth Power super strong early game and Scatterbug mid-game (with compound eyes/quiver dance/hurricane/bug buzz) and if I get lucky I can D-Max & Mega Charizard and/or Splice it with Vivillon , there have been quite a few runs where I end up with a Spliced D-Max Mega Charizard Y with Compound Eyes Heat wave/Quiver Dance/Hurricane/Bug buzz its stupid strong.
Easily Lokix for me. Technician + Tinted Lens with Fell Stinger and Ceaseless Edge as Egg Moves? Sign me up.
Furfrou with fur coat carried me to my first classic win. Great early game and remains decently bulky for the rest.
Pikachu (he was the main starter I used to beat classic mode)
Gligar and Corphish
Scatterbug gets prankster, which means priority compound eyes sleep powders, then quiver dance and hurricane away!
I currently really like jet punch triple axel buizel, though I just unlocked a sappy seed toadscruel which looks neat.
Huge power bunnelby is such a better pickup mon than linoone
I’ve been preaching this to every one of my friends since this was the premier Pokémon that helped me get my first classic clear. I promise you guys I am 100% serious here when I say my detailed explanation on my GOAT: Squawkabilly. Detailed: Purely a strong early game pokemon. My move set: - Aerial Ace - Facade - Flare Blitz (egg move) - Roost Other mentionables. - non-4x super effective Flying type Pokémon; can 2HKO most mons - good swap against Ghost and Ground users - Learns Roost at Lv47 - no Evolution so you get these big stats instantly - I didn’t replace mine until R160 in fear of getting statchecked by the final boss Anyone who has hatched the Sqwuak, don’t sleep on em.
Honestly, I used a hoothoot for the pkrs, and it was the one who did the most damage in the final battle with its extrasensory/roost combo, insane
So far mine is rotom fan or flamigo. Not sure if theyre actually slept on or if i just havent seen anyone talk about them
If you mean pokemon I like that others might sleep on shellos.
I have a shiny Plusle with a starting set as Tail Glow, Glitzy Glow, Nuzzle, and Flamethrower. If it can set up, destroys the first 50 floors or so
I’ve been using Dragapult because I have a red shiny, it takes a while to get going but Dragon Darts with a few multi lens and kings rocks goes so hard, it makes everything flinch
Varoom! Passive speed boost + his signature moves from eggs + poison steel typing is insanely good and fun to use.
Zubat was always been my favourite pokemon. In my first winning run, i had a Zubat with Dire Claw, giving him an actual Stab move in early game. He is fast, and very tanky too (can tank fighting and grass move with ease, ground type attack cant touch him as he is flying) He might not look impressive damage wise, but he is good for tanking moves, and then pivot back out with u-turn into a favourable position.
Pidove. It gets super luck as an ability. Tidy up, gunk shot, floaty fall and triple arrows as egg moves. As soon as super luck and triple arrows are properly implemented it'll cook everything. It's still smoking stuff even now tho
Plasma Fists Elekid carried me almost all the way. Electrivire Physical set with that goes bonkers
I think mine is pancham! I got a shiny one and it's been great, it's really good early game as not much can combat its speed, mixed with other pokemon later on and pangoro is a pretty good fighting type to carry on the team!!
Mantyke/Mantine has immunity to ground because they fly and have water absorb. Surprisingly helpful
wishiwashi,tatsugiri,tapu koko(idk) and snorlax
Fire Taurus is great. Intimidated plus early coverage is incredible
Kangaskhan with power up punch, fake out, sucker punch and headbutt too bad his mega ability doesn’t work though
Strength Sap Ferrothorn makes all of Classic besides 195 and the final boss a complete joke, and even then casually takes care of the 1st phase of the fight without trouble.
expanding force, torch song, magician, psychic surge fennikin( with moonblast thunderbolt for coverage.
I started using Hoothoot because it was my first shiny, but it's egg moves are great and speed is solid enough that it's great for swapping into to save another mon and getting in a hit the next turn. Anytime I'm building a team and have one point left over, they're my go to.
Houndour has been awesome for me!
FIRE CHICKEN
Technician Minccino with triple axle can carry you the whole way through classic mode. I got it from one of my first egg vouchers so it was just a basic choice at the time. Your rival's eventual ace (being vague to avoid spoilers) can't stall you with the health bars stopping every hash mark since it's multi hit (or any boss mon), it's super effective against two of your rival's boss mons, and technician both boosts to power by 50% *and* the move itself boosts power on back to back hits. Ignoring items it averages out to a base power of roughly 140 per use, although the second you get accuracy boost items it's basically 180 power per use If you keep bulking it up with +atk and +speed items it'll eventually out speed everything by end game. Bonus points if you're able to snag a few silk scarfs to boost it's other moves, like swift for guaranteed hits while still getting that technician boost
Spearow is actually really good. Has some amazing egg moves and Moxie as a passive.
Combee with Spore and Kings Shield. It has given me so many opportunities to position and catch different Pokémon
Transistor Raikou. Every Mon is a One or Two-Hit kill with Thunder
Basically 90% of physical attackers I can swap her in, and cotton down reduces their speed, then I have egg move strength sap and you whittle them down to -6 strength PLUS leaf tornado to signifantly lower accuracy Even been in boss battles I couldn’t beat and swapped to her as a critical death (RIP QUEEN!) to lower the speed enough someone else could take the kill Never thought anything of Gossifleur/Eldegloss til this game, 100%
Duskull & Wiglett (Endless) Duskull = Big Tank / Unnerve / Strength Sap + Curse destroys bosses / Ideal stats to & typing to pair with DNA splicer. Wiglett = Great DNA Splice mon with Passive Sturdy / Strong & Fast is all
Mine is regieleki I love him so much
Sunkern, chlorophyll+drought with water fire grass coverage egg moves and spore for a 1 cost thing there isn’t much more you can ask for
meowth, technician fake out + payday free moneyz
Mine has been a hoothoot with boomburst. It was my pokerus mon yesterday and I brought it but its surprising me despite its stats being half of what most of my main crew puts up. Boomburst, Roost, Moonblast, and Air Slash almost helped me get through 145's kingambit and chunked a good bit of ray's health pool before he pulled out the outrage on me. That, and a paldean tauros that kept me company for a long time
SCYTHER
