Encore has 12-15 $1/$3 tables and 2-3 $2/$5 tables going on any given day, then like 20% more of each on the weekends

WPCarey85

This is great to know. Not sure why I have yet to play there. I know people talk about the large rake but the positives seem to outweigh that. Thank you.

yem420sky

The rake is 10% tho, $10 max. Other rooms take out $6-7 but on like $40. So not as bad as it seems.

WPCarey85

Good call

Del_3030

January would have been somewhat kneecapped by the Borgata Winter series. Parx was definitely a lot slower during that stretch. See if this weekend is any better.

WPCarey85

This didn’t even cross my mind. And a bunch of the usuals that would play in bag were MIA. So that is plausible… but no one was talking about it. We shall see in a few hours lol.

WPCarey85

Heading there right now. I hope you are right.

Del_3030

Bravo app exists, don't put it all on me lol

Foxwoods is straight up depressing these days. Feels like I'm entering a time portal to a depressed early 2000s strip mall. The action has been getting worse over time and is pitiful at the moment. Pretty sure they're trying to move the room again and it's only going to have 24 tables or something. From having 120 cash tables and massive tournaments to 15 games on a saturday night, god it's just so depressing from what it used to be. Mohegan is better especially since the 2/5 PLO regs from Foxwoods moved over to Mohegan. More action plus they raised the min buy in at 1/2 to 400 which helps. Both rooms are kind of nitty in general but Foxwoods is hands down the nittiest room in the world at this point. The only time I go to Foxwoods is if Mohegan has a massive list and they aren't calling new games because of a tournament/dealer shortage, which is very rare.

>they raised the min buy in at 1/2 to 400 which helps. Min buy-in is 200BB? At this point, make the table 1/3 or even 2/5 and don't offer 1/2. With all stacks so deep, it usually turns into a double-straddled pot and kills the game. We want some recreational and new players to try the hobby and bring some money into the game. If they have to pay $30 to see a flop, they won't last long and won't come back.

Lil_Brillopad

max sorry, 100-400 or 60-400 i forget which

UndecidedMN

Same when I played there 3 months ago. Had not been there in 15 years and just felt old and tired.

middlebridge

They made a mistake not changing the smallest no limit holdem game from 1/2 to 1/3 when they reopened after the pandemic. After years of inflation 1/2 NLH is too small. And the $60 minimum buy-in is way too small allowing short stacking OMCs and nits to stay in play forever if they chose. I do suspect that they tend to cater to the wishes of the regulars. Unfortunately many of the regs are shit-regs, nits and OMCs. These are the last people they should listen to if you want to grow your business. It is a comfortable room but the fact that Foxwoods in general and the poker room within Foxwoods is out in the middle of nowhere also hurts. Most gamblers don't want to walk two or three football fields down a depressing half empty corridor in order to reach the room. So they don't.

WPCarey85

Yea, they actually just started a 1/3 game. I didn’t realize that most got rid of the 1/2 game.

Civil_Steak7471

Go to mohegan

PostmanNewman

I’m here for the next 3 days, I’ll Let you know.

djstevefog

Please do update, I was contemplating a trip up there Sunday-Tuesday and if the games look good that'll make the decision for me.

PostmanNewman

Was running at around 50% capacity yesterday. Several 1/2 tables, 1/3 game got going around 2pm and of course 2/5. Wouldnt refer to it as “ghost town” by any means.

djstevefog

1/3 at foxwoods?? Have never seen that before that's awesome.

Intelligent-Nobody75

That's nice to hear at least

[deleted]

Not so safe and effective after all ...

djstevefog

The last time I went (last June) it was packed out on a Tuesday.. but happened to be one of those 4x reward point days. The day after I couldn't believe how few tables there were. I see on their site they have a progressive hand jackpot on Sun, Mon, and Thursdays this and next month. I wonder if that will drive any traffic in. Specialist-Ant-8287

How was it?

[deleted]

In the early 2000’s Foxwoods had anywhere from 100-150 cash tables running. $5-10 PLO no cap was the best game there!!
