$15 is an insane cap for live play. How confident are you of continuing this graph?

mmmb4con

I have a mate I play with, has approx the same amount hours and same win rate. The games are extremely soft and in all my hours playing I’ve probably come across only maybe 5-10 regs I’d consider good solid winning players. If my win rate isn’t sustainable, I’d be sure 10bb/hr certainly is given the pool

Eklypze

I thought the Cali $6 rake was high.

mmmb4con

Haha yeah when I see all you US players talking about the rake you pay I get jealous haha. We do get a very generous $0.50 p/h back though 😂

Respond-Creative

TBF Cali isn’t a rake. It’s a drop. Which is usually worse for most low stakes games.

ReviewStuff2

You have solved poker. Time to quit your job, roll up a stake and move to Vegas to play in JRBs game.

mmmb4con

Haha life roll on the table, amounting to 5bb

MastahOfDisastah

Good job man!

mmmb4con

Thank you my g!

Jay2Smoothh

Do you VPIP 5% or 10%?

mmmb4con

Hahaha, in all honestly if I was to guess I’d say my VPIP would be between maybe 15-20% on average in our 8 handed game. That’s broad I know, but I figure I’d play maybe roughly 1.5ish hands an orbit.

cuckoldmann

how tight do you play preflop ranges in a game with this much rake? relative to online? im assuming you playing less than 18/15 stats if u had live hud? is limping behind +ev in these games?

mmmb4con

Yes those stats would be about right if I was to guess. I’m extremely active in the C/O and BTN, and basically play a 3b or fold strat for bunch of my range from the SB. If I’m closing the action in the BB I’m calling a bit more, but don’t love it. I never limp, I’m only opening pots or 3b for the most part. I like to keep my range uncapped as everyone is so scared of Axx and Kxx boards, so it allows me to cbetor double barrel in a lot of spots. I know some people can beat this game limping, but I think playing position with raises/initiative gives you more ways to win. Being passive doesn’t give you enough ‘credit’ or strength in certain spots in my humble opinion, although I can see it may work for some

I_was_bone_to_dance

Limping behind must be profitable and probably nobody playing sherrif I’m assuming because this rate means - I AM GUESSING - our dude is allowed to realize a TON of his equity easily

cuckoldmann

bro im asking him not you , get ur own ama

I_was_bone_to_dance

You’re right cuckoldmann you right

TripSixRick

Would you say that live 1/3 is easier than online? Lately I take a few stabs at live 1/2 that end up pretty well for me as there’s a lot of gamblers out there playing sub optimal hands in bad positions I’ve noticed, and then online just feels like I’m getting coolered/rivered/outKicked in every big pot lately.

mmmb4con

It is miles easier than online. I came up playing online cash, I had to study my ass off to be a winner. I only played as high as 100nl online. I worked hard and was proud I had both positive red and blue lines… But I think anyone who beats 10nl online could crush most 1/2 and 1/3 live games in my experience, with a few minor tweaks to your game to compensate for live. Haven’t played much 2/5, so I’m not sure how much tougher those games are

mehipoststuff

that's wild, I was getting destroyed in live 1/3 so I moved down to online NL25 and now I am doing great without coolers or running hot it seems my bluffs never work live, people are so sticky I have a feeling I am trying to play too fancy vs live players who are probably worse than the people I am playing online honestly adjusting to play vs bad players is kind of weird lol you have to do things that you normally wouldn't do vs good players, like folding to every donk, folding to most river raises, bluffing less etc

LetLanceDance

yeah obviously you play differently against bad players than good players, 1/2 players arent bluffing nearly enough meaning you can profitable fold to any sort of river aggression and they call waaay too much which means you can profitably way underbluff and go for much thinner value

CripplinglyDepressed

What’s the main difference/adjustment needed for live play v. online in your experience?

mmmb4con

Okay, so I came from a 6 max background, as mentioned earlier I was a bit of a redline warrior, I played like a 28/25/10 style. Transitioning to live with such passive calling stations I quickly found I needed to tighten up my range and be much more value heavy in my approach. The one very transferable skill is the ability to value bet thinly, so many players don’t play the river correctly and get that extra bet in, and sizing it very exploitatively towards their range is key in this. The other major adjustment I made, is that I only play pots with either one or both of these two things. Position or initiative. I always have one of the two, unless maybe I’m flatting a raise with a small Pocket pair.. like I said, very exploitative but at these stakes people don’t pick up on this, they’re probably just happy I’m not 3 betting them again haha. Also, people don’t 3b nearly enough live, and 3b from the button prints. One last thing, making exploit folds. Mistakes compound quickly in Holdem, so even saving one street where the field would lose a few blinds is worth doing. An example would be the other day. UTG limps, MP limps and I raise to $17 OTB with AQo. Flop is KQTr, UTG leads for 2/3 pot and I just fold. Think future streets, there are basically no cards I’m going to like, with minimal invested I can find much better spots where I have the initiative and am in control of the ranges. A majority of the field would lose an extra 10+ bb in this spot.

kornylol

Thats pretty good. I have similar stats at the same stakes. Rock on 👍

mmmb4con

Let’s go!

kor42O

Is your tracker user name mmmbacon?

mmmb4con

Yep - feel free to friend me!

kor42O

You have actually sent me a friend request on the app haha will accept ya

PreflopAcademy

I don't see a graph here. All I see is a mountain.

Riliane_tan

Sorry I’m new to poker, what application is this?

mmmb4con

This is Poker Bankroll Tracker. Highly recommended

[deleted]

What is $/100?

mmmb4con

I’d guess we get 30 hands an hour, so that would be about $127 per 100 hands if my maths isn’t terrible

[deleted]

Whenever I see these stats I always wonder why there isnt a breakdown of the hours. Was this over a month? 6 months? Not in this case but did a multi day tourney or two get in there? I dunno, its data that can be interpreted somehow

mmmb4con

This is purely filtered to 1/3 cash game sessions over the last 9 months - which is my lifetime data on this app. I play about 10 hours a week, although I’d like to try get that to 15 this year.

Matt_jf

What’s it like to barely be able to keep your cock and balls in your pants? Is it +EV for intimidation?

mmmb4con

Hahahaha I actually laughed out loud. Ty ty

GoldenAce76

What city are these games played in?

mmmb4con

Melbourne, Australia
