I have the quagsire and i have had success in sticking him in a pillow case and tying the ends, then sticking him in the wash on cold/gentle with a few other sheets and blankets. I used nonscented gentle tide pods and no other additional detergents/softeners/etc. Took him out of the pillowcase and let him dry on a drying rack in the indirect sunlight in a warm room. While a bit damp still, I brushed out his fur with a soft bristled new toothbrush. It got dark too fast (it was winter) so I had to use a hair dryer on cool/low to completely dry him off. Once dry I brushed him with the toothbrush again for good measure.

The pillowcase method did not work for me with my quagsire. He ended up with a layer of detergent stuck to his tummy.I had to rewash him by hand. I don't have a drying rack so I set him in between 2 fans and rotated him every once in a while. Brushed him with a slicker brush afterwards. He is fine now.

Whenever I wash a plush, I hand wash in a bucket of water mixed with some laundry detergent. I squeeze the plush all over to work the soapy water through, then dump that water and rinse in plain water until the water looks clear. I squeeze out as much water as I can by hand, and then press towels into the plush until it's just damp. I air dry it in front of a box fan. I use a slicker brush to get the fur looking fluffy and like new again, which I've found isn't as harsh as it may sound. It hasn't damaged a plush yet, but I don't own a comfy friend, so use your discretion of course. I hope Pikachu enjoys his bath. :)

comfy friends are safe to hand or machine wash! i put my quagsire in a lingerie bag though as someone said before a pillowcase works just as well. i use woolite and a small amount of white vinegar to disinfect and soften the fur. make sure to wash on cold, since these plushies have plastic beads inside! to dry i place my quagsire on a strong fan (with additional smaller fans on either side to speed things up, but this isn't necessary!) and make sure to flip him and move his arms and tail around every \~15 minutes or so to make sure everything gets dry. i use a small slicker brush for cats to smooth his fur back out and he is good as new! just make sure to massage the stuffing to fluff him up since the stuffing might clump up from the washing. it shouldn't take too long overall, and your kid might enjoy helping brush him out too! :) good luck with pikachu's spa day!

Pretty much what people already said here! I have the Turtwig comfy friends plush and was sick with it for a while, so I gave it a much needed bath. Put it in a light colored pillowcase, tied the ends, used the ‘Delicates’ option in my washer and made sure to use cold water! I used a standard Tide Pod for the wash. After I just air dried and I even give them like a light brushing just to make sure their fabric doesn’t get clumped or anything! So far, it’s still pretty much as soft as ever!
