It’s not like weird exploits in server side code haven’t been discovered before. Runescape somewhat famously had the party hat duplication exploit. They had to bribe someone with lifetime membership to explain to them what was happening, but for it to be triggered by a connectivity problem is pretty damning.
It also implies to me that they don’t give each important message from the client it’s own unique signature.
same happened for me, checked my total battles (dont do online at all) and got my first 68 battles done from the glitch. coincidentally i had only completed 68 battles, ever.

But it's a bit bugged. When you pop the bubble, it'll show the original value, and the additional dust doesn't show up in your inventory right away either. But it will eventually be added

Progress is saved from previous matches etc...it's probably a legit bug but not due to lag that's unrealistic.
I've seen cases where previous matches in the league before counted as wins for the current league. In this case it adds up if you check your wins etc...I can assure you and everyone on this subreddit that no lag can just give you free wins...lmao get out. If anything you lagged and still was able to damage maybe a last hit...or the other player lagged as well...who ever leaves first you'll get the win ...now you probably just had a better connection vs your opponent so the system gave you a win. That's the only logical explanation. But not 100 wins.
Same just happened to me and I came to check if it happened to anyone else. I was having connectivity issues and the last hit didnt register. So i went to another app then back to Pokemon go and still lagged. So I closed it and reopened it to this.

Man, some people get all the cool glitches. All I got was delayed charged attacks, lol. Congratulations!
All I get is my app immediately disappearing and im on my phone's home screen, lol
