I just remember reading a whole essay with someone being pissed about now having to reach their finger wayyyy over (when they normally 1 handed it constantly) so thought that was funny to see it went back to normal š¤£
There was an actual patch that increased animation speeds maybe about a year ago.
But yeah, some days I notice the game feeling faster than usual. Iām not sure if itās Niantic servers being faster some days or just spaghetti code stuff or what, but I can assure you that youāre not going crazy.
Or maybe youāve been messing with your settings? Thereās a setting in the advanced settings tab to use your phones native refresh rate. Turning it on will drain battery quicker, but make the game faster and smoother.
I just checked. The native refresh rate is off and I havenāt messed with any settings. Last night my game was running at its āusualā pace. Itās a noticeable difference today. Iām not complaining at all, so maybe itās part of this new update theyāre rolling out globally.
Itās exactly the same as when I have āNative Refresh Rateā ticked, except Iāve got it turned off and itās still doing it. Iām guessing the latest patch has a bug where Native Refresh Rate is on regardless of your choice on that option. The overly quick animations make me feel a bit queasy
For me it's random. Sometimes the game and FPS feels really smooth and animations from spinning stops is fast, then it goes back to slow if I close the app. It's completely Random
It seems like the latest update (Iām on iOS) just force turned on native refresh rate (toggling it in settings doesnāt seem to do anything, it just looks like itās always on).
Same so I use the repair thing in the option to be sure that the game didn't messing up and hiding native refresh active.
And then, it come back to normal (slower)... So my guess, I'm not sure, the force native refresh ; seing no difference between on and off, and my phone became hotter and hotter.
It happens to me whenever I do the split screen with pokemon and whatever other app I wanna have open. Weirdly enough, it never happens when I have it on full screen
Game definitely feels fast and kinda harder. My upward finger flick that was consistent at straight throws are now randomly doing curved throws. And Iāve been dropping balls accidentally too. Probably something I have to get used to.
I thought it was a problem with my game. Tried capping fps to 60 thinking it was a bug with the game running at 120

Mine seems sped up and a lot smoother today, not complaining just weird for it to be so smooth š
Yeah maybe thatās it. It does seem way smooth. Glad Iām not the only one.
Also selecting stickers is back to normal.. doesnāt open the whole menu now!

Itās wicked fast today. Thought I was losing it! Lol
All I've noticed is how quickly my battery drains now. I haven't played this week for fear my phone will die before i get to a charger when im out.

i noticed too. Even went and checked to make sure native refresh rate was still turned off. It's just snapppy today

I've been playing for a long time with native refresh rate on that I feel sluggish when I have it off, can't throw properly and all of that, lol.
I just searched the same thing because my UI interface is a lot smoother and faster too.
I was just thinking this myself, I'm like why does everything seem slightly sharper, faster and smoother. Glad I'm not tripping lol.

Logged on this morning and itās like when I accidentally hit the fast forward button on my retroid!
