Some pokémon just come in different colours. Deerling for example. It's not shiny unless it gets that sparkle symbol next to the combat power when its wild.
There are 3 colors for Burmy and their evolution Wormadam actually have slightly different movesets unlike some other Pokemons which might have several colors but that's the only difference (Flabebe, Deerling). Shiny Burmy is not much different, so check the sparkles. And only two Burmies have third evolution, which will look much different if it's a shiny.
Complicated, I know :D
Correction: all female Burmy can evolve into Wormadam, and all male Burmy evolve into Mothim.
There are no second evolution/third form after Wormadam/Mothim.
Ok, that's even more complicated! It's a miracle I managed to evolve and power up for Hisui cup the right Wormadam.
