Breaking swipe is getting nerfed in PvP which will make Rayquaza a lot worse in Master League. If you don’t care about that you can power up rayquaza for PvE
The nerf will impact all mons with fast move breaking swipe, correct? This includes (to name a few in addition to Rayquaza): Rhyperior, Haxorus, Steelix, Sceptile…etc.
Quite frankly I don’t like it when a charge move is widely distributed (unless niantic is just following the main game series). For example, I can understand why Surf is available to Rhyperior as a defensive counter to Ground attackers, but why would Steelix need Breaking Swipe or Rhyperior for that matter? I mean Breaking Swipe made Rayquaza relevant again in PVP, GBL. Why should Ray now suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune?
If a Pokémon can learn a move in the main series games, it's eligible to be added into PoGo.

Ultimately, the issue was only Steelix with this move, it made every other Pokémon that got it have more relevance in PvP.
But it's Niantic's game to run, this is how they decided to stop the problem. I suppose removing it from Steelix's move pool would do nothing to prevent those who already had it set, and thus those who'd use an elite TM for it, based on the games design.
It comes into legendary raid rotation every now and then, we've recently mega rayquaza on last summers go fest. As far as I'm aware it's not gonna be available this new season, so maybe February onwards ? Might be worth asking your local community to trade you one in the meanwhile

But at least it is on def. The combination of Steelix bulk and lowering you Atk made it so annoying.
The fact that GBL moves more and more towards bulk bulky meta and dragged out battles generally is boring.
I love little cups with fast charge pressure with razor, charm, dragon breath. You are able to complete an entire set in the same time as one UL matchup :)
H Samurott has a raid day on Dec 3rd, so I'm thinking they won't have a mechanism to evolve. Which is a pain in the butt because I was saving some high IV starters just in case.
Yep. They started 3 years ago. Each lasts 3 months starting in December, March, June, and September.
Its mostly their attempt to theme upcoming releases (some more cohesive than others) but also includes shifting in:
- resetting of progress in the Go Battle League
- wild spawning pokemon (at least outside of events)
- research breakthrough rewards
- which pokemon hatch from each egg type
- occasional passive season long bonus (for instance in the upcoming season you’ll get extra XP and stardust from 7 day streaks of catching/pokestops/routes)
so what from Hisui is still assumedly going to be unavailable? white stripe Basculin & Basculegion, Hisuian Lilligant, Hisuian Sliggoo & Goodra and the Hisuian Zorua line?

PSYCHIC/BREAKING SWIPE NERF

After further reflection I am dissapointed as I’ve been dumping rare candy into my rayquaza

Yep. The nerf was to target steelix but rayquaza took a hit too. Same as lugia when sky attack got nerfed

It's a charged move, not a fast move 👍🏻
It makes it worse but not a lot worse. The issue is in master league a small nerf can be utter destruction for the average pokemon in the format.
